zofran with pregnancy

I would highly recommend Zofran. It is used for nausea and it works WONDERS! They have other drugs likes Phenergan and Compozine, but the side effects are long and AWFUL (I know because I have taken both). I just looked at the med fact on Zofran and while it doesn't say much about breastfeeding while taking Zofran, there aren't any known problems with taking it during pregnancy.

I haven't heard of any risks and my doctor is pretty straight forward!

I took zofran with my second & third pregnancy and it worked for me it was a big relief.

Yes zofran is great. Took in beginning of pregnancy and now again towards the end..

My friend took it with her pregnancies and delivered healthy babies,but i know there are massive lawsuits against zofran. I would say consult with your Dr and approach with caution.

Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant almost 7 now and I have had the worse nausea of my life. Not much of throwing up just nausea. I was prescribed Zofran to help with that but I have found that a lot of women who have taken it have had their child born with deformities. Has anyone taken this medicine before???

I'm not sure but I took it all through my pregnancy with my son and he was just fine and I just now stopped taking it this pregnancy with my twins it was the only thing that would some what help with me

ve been diagnosed both pregnancies with Hyperemesis Gravidarum and I LOST 65 lbs. my first pregnancy with my son and now have lost 55 lbs. with my daughter (current pregnancy) IM just curious if anyone has experienced this and what did they do? should I talk to my doctor?

So my doctor prescribed me some nausea medicine called zofran and I was watching a commercial on tv and it was talking about how babies are being born with birth defects after using the nausea medicine zofran. So should I stop taking it and find other ways to deal with the nausea ? or should I continue to use it if my doctor recommended it.

is zofran safe to take during pregnancy... im 9 weeks and 4 days and the nasuea has been so bad i cant keep anythinf down at all...

So I've been seeing all this negative stuff about zofran causing all kinds of birth defects to unborn babies. I'm 30 weeks pregnant & I've been taking zofran my entire pregnancy, so it's worrying me. Has anyone else taken zofran? What are your opinions on it?

I took the generic zofran with my first and had to with this baby. Nothing wrong with my babies. I feel like there is a risk with every medicine. If you look up side effects to anything there is always somethi g.But sometimes you don't have a choice. I was puking non stop. Until 20 weeks. Side effects are very minimale to very few people.

in pregnancy as no pregnant women wants to put herself forward for testing but zofran has been used on millions of women with severe HG with very little effects. I am in UK and unfortunately our options for HG treatment is more limited than in Canada/US. Also the person who commented on the increase of cleft palates after being treated with zofran, studies have showed an increase in cleft palates in women who have taken zofran AND women who took none but had HG.

My son was born a bit early, we were induced due to the placement of a fibroid on my uterus so we kept him on the small side to prevent rupture of the fibroid, but took zofran with him through all of first trimester. He was 5lbs 6oz delivered almost a month early but he was very healthy other then his weight.

Is zofran safe to rake during pregnancy? I've read some stories and some say it's not and can cause heart defects is this true?

It is perfectly fine to take while pregnant I took it threw out my first pregnancy and I'm currently taking it now threw my second pregnancy :)

zofran is safe :). there are 2 nausea medicines that are considered safe for pregnancy, and zofran sounds like the better choice for you (since phenergan makes you sleepy, and that's the other option, i think it would freak you out!). every medicine is going to carry warnings, and there will be people who SWEAR that this medicine caused this or that...but that's the internet for you. it is considered safe, and your OB only prescribed it because they felt it was safe....

Hello. I had to take it with my first pregnancy and it was amazing. I had awful morning sickness and it was the only thing that helped. I didn't experience any side effects.

The risks of defects associated with Zofran occur before 12 weeks of pregnancy. I had to take it for a few weeks during that period before my morning sickness went away. They check for defects and everything at your 20 week scan. It seems like she prescribed it because the risk of you running into a health issue due to your weight loss is higher than a birth defect caused by Zofran.

I had severe nausea during all four of my pregnancies and was only prescribed Zofran during my last pregnancy. My daughter was born with spina bifida and fused toes on one foot and several ear and skin tags. I was only taking prenatal vitamins and Zofran during this pregnancy. My daughter had to undergo spinal surgery at six months of age. She fortunately does not suffer the terrible heart defects some of the other unfortunate children did.

I was taking Zofran my first pregnancy from 4 wks right when I had found out to 6-7 months and my daughter was perfectly healthy. So far this pregnancy I have been on it since 7 wks and still taking it at 22 wks and my baby boy is growing big and healthy. It is bs that they called you, I would of went off.

Zofran is fine. I tooke it until 26 weeks with my first and 28 weeks with this one. It is just fine and helps with nausea. I've had the pill form and liquid that they've put in my I've when I was admitted for severe dehydration from nausea.

Yeah I was prescribed zofran but didn't take it! The nurses I work with said it can cause birth defects like cleft lip and stuff.. They've heard of it happening and I just didn't want to risk it.

I took zofran with my last 3 pregnancies and my kids are all just fine. I'm very sick with this pregnancy and my doctor tried to give me everything but zofran like reglan, diclegis, phenergen, etc and none of the worked so they put me back on zofran which helps only a little bit.
