zofran

4601190 tn?1357338863 And i have zofran. It hasnt worked. I also have been having issues with my gall bladder (they think just from everything being squished up) so fun fun. 31 more days :) ...
Avatar f tn My first pregnancy (in which I ended up miscarrying) my doctor tried me on phenergan and 2 other kinds of nausea pills. I honestly didn't like the way phenergan made me feel, all it did was put me to sleep and then when I woke up id be sick as a dog again. But with this pregnancy (I'm 33w+4d), for the first 5 months I couldn't eat or drink anything without it coming back up and I actually lost weight.
1468090 tn?1289093410 I took zofran when I was pregnant with me fourth child and he was born with a congenital birth defect called Chiari Malformation. BEWARE!!!! I would not recommend taking zofran while pregnant. Do your research first. It has not been approved by the FDA for pregnant woman and the company that makes the drug settled out of court for the largest class action ever in history.
Avatar f tn sorry to hear you are having problems. Phenergan that's an antihistimine, right? did you doc prescribe it? if so follow the directions. I am also on triple with Incivek. I'm in my 4th week and have been taking zertec (antihistamine) in the morning, once a day. it is suppose to help with the rash, which i haven't seen. i don't think the Phenergan dose should be taken with the incivek. but check with your doctor. i have really bad nausea too.
10033740 tn?1458081962 I'm 8wks and have had morning sickness for 3wks non stop, I could no longer take it anymore, none of the remedies were helping so I went to the ER today because I don't have an appt wit the gyn until the 16th. The Dr prescribed phenergan & I'm a bit surprised. I thought zofran was usually the drug of choice for pregnant women. Anyone else taking phenergan??
Avatar f tn Phenergan is safe, but will make you very sleepy. I like to take it before bed if I'm nauseous. Zofran is alot better throughout the day. Doctor also gave me Reglan but I've held off on taking it I've heard too many bad things about it.
Avatar f tn I had to switch my prenatal because it was making me sick. The one I'm on now doesn't seem to help or hurt me. I'm just over it and ready to be in my 3rd month.
Avatar f tn t working that well, but our insurance said no because it is much more expensive. There is a generic Zofran now but it also is way more expensive than Phenergan and Compazine. I should have added that Joe didn't do all that much actual vomiting but he had lots of dry heaves. We tried some of the ginger cures also but no miracles there. I didn't give him ginger capsules because they are blood thinning and Joe's platelets are so low that I don't want to mess with that.
Avatar n tn If you can afford it, stick with zofran. Phenergan works well but it makes you super sleepy and it also increases the bad side effects of narcotics- like dizziness and light-headedness. Same with phenergan's cousin, compazine. There's reglan as well, but to me it doesn't work as well. If you are taking the opiates for short-term treatment for something like post-surgical pain, phenergan or zofran are likely to be your best options....
Avatar f tn I'm with the other two ladies i would call.
Avatar f tn I very rarely even took a Tylenol with my first two. I decided that I would only take the Zofran when I has somewhere to go and had to feel better. The problem is that today I didn't take one and I feel terrible. I have vomitted three times and don't feel like eating or dealing with my kids. What is the right thing to do?
1285651 tn?1319642429 the nausea, but for me they were at least as effective as zofran or phenergan (which was NOT the case with my first pregnancy...NOTHING worked except phenergan when I was pregnant with my daughter).
Avatar f tn Talk to Ur doctor about nausea meds. They usually give zofran. So far I've taken zofran, reglan and phenergan. Phenergan makes You tired, So I've been taking That recently Because I'm 24 weeks, still puking and getting nauseous and I'm in pain from The position The baby Sometimes lays in. So It helps to relieve The nausea and helps me sleep too. But zofran works really good For nausea and doesn't make You sleepy.
Avatar f tn Hi. I am 40. 8 weeks. Was losing almost a lb a day. I'm on zofran now. Are any of you on it too? Has it helped?
Avatar f tn I am on Zofran and Phenergan! ! The Zofran I puked up the Phenergan puts me to sleep! Thank you all for your advice and tips. I am excited yo try thrm.
Avatar f tn I haven't had a fever that in know of, but taking zofran for the vomiting. I'm about 7 weeks with my 4th. The "all day sickness"with this one has been non stop and awful. The tiredness is common first trimester, and that should get better second trimester. Small meals, crackers and plenty of rest. Also try ginger ale or sometimes spearmint gum helps me.
Avatar f tn If the phenergan is not working call the doc and get a script for ZOFRAN, its more expensive but it works when phenergan doesnt. Zofran does not make you sleepy like phenergan. Phenergan has a nasty side effect of lowering peoples blood pressure.
Avatar f tn Honestly i don't know of anything else besides zofran and phenergan, and phenergan is alot worse about making you sleepy. Have you asked your doctor about maybe cutting your pills in half? I dont know how well it will work with the hypermesis, as nothing worked for mine. But it may help you. Also you may be able to do b6 with half a zofran and it have the same effect, just not as tiring.
Avatar f tn She is tonite extrememly ill with nausea and headache . Zofran nor Emend bring relief. I take Zofran prn during chemo, along with the E the first 3 days and have not had much of a problem. Is there something else out there aside fro Compazine, Zofran, Emend that she may speak to Doc about? Thanks in advance.
1201433 tn?1328997637 I just want to say it is like night and day since they gave me a script for some , started today, I was up all last night vomiting, do not suffer ask your doctor for some!!
1454858 tn?1306784378 ve read about though. Some women with HG have Zofran pumps they use and their babies come out fine. Zofran is also rated safer than Phenergan (It has a class C rating) and my daughter came out perfect even with how much I had to take. Don't let it get too bad though. No need to feel sick if you have the capabilities to feel better.
14346590 tn?1451854557 I took it along with phenergan . As long as its not an every day thing for the entire pregnancy I think you'll be fine. Im 23 weeks and everything is checking up normal now. My doc also prescribed diclegis for morning sickness. I take 2 at night and I get really sick if I forget to take it.
Avatar f tn Phenergan, zofran, ginger, something with not a whole lot of flavor, ******* pops, sipping on ice cold water, sucking on ice, etc.. I had severe vomiting while pregnant(there's a medical term for it) and had to do all of that for the first 5 months! They even gave me the Phenergan and told me to put it up my butt bc it would help better... embarrassing!
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Promethazine (generic for Phenergan) & it helped me a lot.. the only downside, at least for me, was it made me extremely sleepy!
Avatar f tn ve been able to eat breads n potatoes, but even that is making me sick. Water makes me sick with the zofran. Milk is my only safe thing. I've lost 15 lbs since getting pregnant. You are not alone.
Avatar f tn I was taking Zofran my first pregnancy from 4 wks right when I had found out to 6-7 months and my daughter was perfectly healthy. So far this pregnancy I have been on it since 7 wks and still taking it at 22 wks and my baby boy is growing big and healthy. It is bs that they called you, I would of went off.
Avatar f tn I am still getting sick on a daily basis, I'm prescribed phenergan but I still puke once daily which isn't a huge deal, but any suggestions as far as helping with nausea when I am out of my medication?
Avatar f tn My dr gave me 2 different types of nausea medicine. The zofran and phenergan. I took the phenergan at night and the zofran before every meal. That was the only little bit of ease I got! Once I hit 16 weeks I was all better. I work still throw up once every two weeks. That didnt bother me. As long as it wasn't morning and night. And now that I'm 32 weeks 4 days I'm throwing up all over again. Haha I had to pull the phenergan out again the other night. But now ill only do it at night.
