Zofran while pregnant

Common Questions and Answers about Zofran while pregnant

zofran

Zofran is the most recommended medicine for nausea while your pregnant .
However, when I looked up the safety online, I get mixed messages. I don't like to take anything while pregnant. I very rarely even took a Tylenol with my first two. I decided that I would only take the Zofran when I has somewhere to go and had to feel better. The problem is that today I didn't take one and I feel terrible. I have vomitted three times and don't feel like eating or dealing with my kids. What is the right thing to do?

5 MG and now I’ve broke pen the capsule and I’m taking 45 pellet of the 105 that are in the capsule … I went to my Doctor who said I should be able to quit it by now and I went two days with out it and I feel like I’m going to die. He gave me Zofran for the nausea but I’m afraid to take it because I don’t trust him now. Will Zofran help? Has anyone else taken it?
Zofran is wonderful and safe, but expensive.
I took zofran for quite a while and my baby is fine.
I took zofran for a few weeks and now while I still have nausea I noticed I can keep it under control as long as I am sucking on something. I carry around a bag of jolly ranchers and that keeps me from feeling too sick inbetween meals. I imagine the preggie pops are the same concept.
I bought dolcolax laxative but called my doc before I took it and they said that med wasn't on the list of meds to take while pregnant. I'm only 7 1/2 weeks. So I'm waiting for the nurse to call me back to let me knw what I can take. I'll make sure to bring up the possibility of taking a suppository. Also I just drank a full glass of prune juice and man its soo gross. Blah!
I'm 14 weeks pregnant with my first child and I've had severe nausea and vomiting to where I've lost almost 20 pounds. My doctor gave me Zofran and I was wondering if anyone has had complications, birth defects, or know anyone who has.
Yes they can give you the pill. The preacription they give out will have the name Promethazine on the bottle and they give you 25 mg pills. It'll make you sleepy though so be careful.
Not to mention I feel really bad taking meds while pregnant as I rather things natural. It has been a full week and I want to stop taking them. Has anyone experienced hypermesis.
My OB prescribed me this for my nausea and like a dumb dumb I goggled the side effects and they seem like they outweigh the benefits. Has anyone else taken this drug while pregnant?
Hello ladies, To keep it short on my second pregnancy Hyperemesis sufferer, ended up in hospital on drip and IV fluids after trying four of the main anti sickness perscriptions. I had cyclicine yesterday by IV and basically it felt like hell, shook all over, blurred vision, sickness increased and felt so anxious thought my heart was going to pop out of my chest. My bloods for organ function were fine thankfully so Ive been put on ondansetron and discharged.
I was recently prescriped this before going on vacation to ease the nausea while on the trip. It works great. I have the dissolvable zofran which you put on your tongue. It definitely works and has helped me tremendously. I just was at the Docs. yesterday and he told me until the sickness ends to stop taking me prenatal vitamins since that can definitely cause more nausea and vomiting.
There are NO PROVEN STUDIES stating that smoking Cannabis while pregnant causes unusualbrain development, or that it causes symptoms similar to FAS. Cannabis promotes neurogenesis, which means it encourages brain cell growth. Cigarettr smoking csn cause preterm labor, but there are NO STUDIES that show Cannabis use causes preterm labor. The only proven study about Cannabis use during pregnancy is the Jamaica study, performed by Dr. Melanie Drehr, which I encourage everyone to look into.

Hi, I've been trying to research as much as I can about the meds I"m on while I'm pregnant. I was in a head on collision this Feb, and therefore was put on Norco. I unexpectedly became pregnant in July. I tried to get off the Norco myself just because the fact I was pregnant and thinking ,Ok this is obviously not good for the fetus I'll find alternative ways to cope with my neck and back pain", well easier said then done.
I saw a commercial once (for smoking cigarettes while pregnant) and it was something like a baby smoking a cigarette while inside the mom. It didn't show for very long. Probably because it was pretty graphic and disturbing to watch. Anyway, that's what I think of. I wouldn't hand my baby a cigarette or a joint or a beer. In my mind, it would be like getting your baby high. I mean surely the baby would feel the effects of the pot. What KStar said is right....
First off I said I wasn't trying to be mean are rude if you got offended then that's your problem and yes I'm a first time mom so if my lack of knowledge is off then so be it that's why I posted this as a question so your the one who's being rude its nothing wrong with asking questions to find out and some girls don't eat while pregnant to save their body image never said all of them do don't be ignorant twords the post because I was never being negative at all its just something I was wondering
My doctor put me on Zofran and I hesitated because I was worried about taking prescription drugs while pregnant. I'd be interested in hearing the good and bad from those who may have taken it too. I'm so sick that I wonder if I'm doing my baby more harm by not at least trying to find relief. I picked up the RX today....boy is it expensive. My insurance covered $900 of the 30 tablets, and I was left with a $75 co-pay. I'm taking 4 tablets per day. Yikes!
I think if acs finds out u may put ur baby at risk to have it being taken away. They drug test the baby when it's born..
I had an u/s at 6 weeks and saw a good heart beat. I was prescribed Zofran for nausea and while on it I was pretty constipated.. only being able to go a small amount here and there. Shortly after I finished my bottle I have had horrible diarrhea for a week now, sometimes finding a little blood as well. I'm not sure why this is. If it's because I was so backed up or because I have stopped taking it. I have no other bad symptoms and have made sure to stay well hydrated. I see my dr on Thursday.
