zofran when pregnant

Well, I never had it but my girlfriend who is due the same day as me was still throwing up and dry heaving as of two weeks ago, although I do believe now she is only dry heaving (we're 24 weeks) she has notoriously horrible (symptom wise) pregnancies though so she's one extreme and i'm the other. she didn't take any pills though to try and help her.

I saw a commercial today saying that if you were pregnant and took zofran that you and your child could get a financial compensation. The Zofran caused the baby to get cleft pallet. Has anyone heard of any issues with zofran?? I was on that for the longest time for my sickness!

My doctor and I agreed that the benefits outweigh the risks. Zofran for pregnant women has been available for almost 20 years if it was as bad as they say we wouldn't have just been hearing about ambulance chasing lawsuits. I had severe morning sickness with my daughter to the point I couldn't keeps down spoons of water eve for my entire pregnancy I was on it so me and baby didn't die. This time around u was o. It until I was 22 weeks along. My children are perfect.

So has anyone taken zofran while pregnant? I try to stay away from all medicine except my vitamins but the other night I ate something and I'm guessing my baby really didn't like it because I've been kind of sick since then but the other night the nausea was unbearable so I took one.

I took zofran when I was pregnant with me fourth child and he was born with a congenital birth defect called Chiari Malformation. BEWARE!!!! I would not recommend taking zofran while pregnant. Do your research first. It has not been approved by the FDA for pregnant woman and the company that makes the drug settled out of court for the largest class action ever in history.

So I've been seeing all this negative stuff about zofran causing all kinds of birth defects to unborn babies. I'm 30 weeks pregnant & I've been taking zofran my entire pregnancy, so it's worrying me. Has anyone else taken zofran? What are your opinions on it?

I just found out this weekend I'm pregnant. 5 weeks along. When did it start to feel real for all of you? I haven't had too many symptoms yet. Logically I know I'm pregnant, but it just doesn't seem like it yet.

I have taken it since I was about 9-12 weeks, somewhere around then, I am now 29 weeks and 4 days with a healthy baby girl :D ftm I had very very bad nausea and vomiting, still do occasionally now, but when I do it gets BAD!

I asked my consultant the same question and she said no medication can be described as safe in pregnancy as no pregnant women will submit their pregnant bodies to a medical study (understandably!). I am now 34+5 and my little girl is very healthy and while I've lost a lot of weight in this prehnancy she is measuring large for GA, so very like my first. I know that I would have had major issues without issue at as I couldn't keep water or food down, not even my own spit.

I was prescribed Zofran 4mg. I took one yesterday and it was a miracle drug! However, when I looked up the safety online, I get mixed messages. I don't like to take anything while pregnant. I very rarely even took a Tylenol with my first two. I decided that I would only take the Zofran when I has somewhere to go and had to feel better. The problem is that today I didn't take one and I feel terrible.

i mean think about it doc used to think it was ok to smoke and drink when you were pregnant....

I've been doing a lot of searching on the web about this drug and now I'm scared to death to take this drug!! My doctor keeps saying to take it if I'm sick/throwing up still and I've seen on other forums women who say they took it and there baby was fine but then on other websites u see all these lawsuits women have filled bc of the side affects and u see how its hasn't been approved for pregnant women!!!????

I am almost 36 weeks with my first baby and I took zofran and still do when I develop nausea. It really has helped me , but on the other hand everyone is different . I say just try it and if it doesn't work then tell your doctor and they will give you something different .(: Hope you feel better .

I am devastated that this medicine was prescribed off label for pregnant women when it was NEVER approved!

Ladies dont take zofran!! The medicine used for morning sickness. There was a recall. It doubles the risk of birth defects when used in the first trimester. I'm not a dr/nurse or in the medical field of any sort... i saw it on tv and Googled the recall is all.

To each their own. Take it or don't take it. It's your choice. There are risks to everything you do during pregnancy. Birth defects happen even without taking any meds. Stillborn babies happen when the mom did everything by the book and DIDN'T take Zofran. Rather than use a commercial or somebody posting something in an app to decide whether to take it, use your own judgement.

Has anyone taken it? I'm at the drs, my morning sickness has gotten bad I've lost 6 pounds this month.

I personally have known multiple women who took zofran while pregnant and their babies are perfectly healthy. Chances are your baby will be perfectly healthy as well.

I took zofran from the time I was 2 months pregnant until birth for severe morning sickness . My son was born with no hand . I dont know if theres a coneection .

I'm taking b12 and unisom. I tried zofran but it didn't work. I took zofran with my first two pregnancies and it worked really good. It seems like this pregnancy is only responding to the b12 and unison. But some days nothing works and I'm so tired of being sick and not being able to eat healthy, I can't get my prenatals in me either.

I'm 9weeks pregnant and my nausea is out of control. I feel sick all day and most of the time can't keep much down. I feel like I've loss alot of weight. And I'm worried that something might be wrong.

Zofran is the most recommended medicine for nausea while your pregnant .

Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant almost 7 now and I have had the worse nausea of my life. Not much of throwing up just nausea. I was prescribed Zofran to help with that but I have found that a lot of women who have taken it have had their child born with deformities. Has anyone taken this medicine before???

ZOFRAN IS MY SAVIOR. IT'S THE ONLY PILL I'VE TAKEN SINCE I'VE BEEN PREGNANT. I won't even take anything for headaches. I just sleep them off.

If you are worried, you can call your local pregnancy hotline. Zofran is the only thing keeping me eating and drinking while pregnant. I ended up in the ER without it. LOVE IT!
