Zofran when pregnant

Common Questions and Answers about Zofran when pregnant

zofran

I was prescribed Zofran 4mg. I took one yesterday and it was a miracle drug! However, when I looked up the safety online, I get mixed messages. I don't like to take anything while pregnant. I very rarely even took a Tylenol with my first two. I decided that I would only take the Zofran when I has somewhere to go and had to feel better. The problem is that today I didn't take one and I feel terrible. I have vomitted three times and don't feel like eating or dealing with my kids.

What can I do for my morning sickness when my zofran only works for about 45 minutes? Crackers, water, eating, or carbonated drinks are not helping me either.
do you think I will still have side effects when I'm done if I take it slow?? and have you ever taken Zofran?? I haven't used it yet.

I have one more appointment with my RE this week then i go back to obgyn...at least he knows me and my history. its gonna be a long road...i am only 7w2d...the great news is my hormones are working...lol..
When I was pregnant with my daughter I took Zofran because I had "morning" sickness ALL DAY FOR 9 MONTHS!!! She is a happy, healthy 2 year old now!
Zofran is wonderful and safe, but expensive.
I walked down stairs after trying to eat my luch(without success) to talk to my OB(I work in a hospital) She prescibed me zofran. I read though that it should only be used when there is severe vomiting to the point where the woman is dehydrated. I have not been vomiting much but my nausea is terrible! Anyone know of any natural remedies for nausea before i turn to the drugs!
I am 36 weeks pregnant and still dealing with MS. I have been taking Zofran since 5weeks and without it, I would not be able to go on with this pregnancy! Sometimes I joke that I will name my baby girl - Zofran baby! It is safw, but expensive. I would take it first thing before I got out of bed and then late in the afternoon. My MS was more like 24/7 sickness. By 7th month, I was only taking 1 pill a day and now I only need 1/2 pill and there are days I will not take it at all. Good luck!
When I was pregnant, the nausea was so bad, my doctor put me on Zofran. She said it was completely safe. My daughter is now 3 with many severe delays and sensory defensiveness. Never knowing what the cause was, I have talked to other mothers of delayed children and found they too took Zofran during their pregnancy. I am considering researching this more. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
I give up! I tried it, and I was almost able to function without Zofran, but not quite. I threw up every morning, and was forced to spend lots of time in bed each day (only possible because I have the week off this week). I wasn't eating well, and started to become irritable when I needed to get out of bed and get things done. I was barely able to do the things that absolutely had to be done.
Got my scripts filled last night and I feel 99% better. The Zofran is a wonder drug...within a minute of taking it I felt better. I also took the phenergan at bedtime and it helped me sleep through the night. I have decided to stop the Benadryl and not wear the Sea-Bands because they were starting to make my wrists a little sore.
i know its frusturating when pregnant and cant sleep....its the worst! i feel for you...best of luck!
I am 36 weeks and three days pregnant with my second baby and i take zofran and i am still taking it. My first one i handled morning sickness on my own and didn't take anything for it and it got better as time went on it was also a boy. I am now pregnant with a girl and the morning sickness is so bad this time around so i asked my doctor about a nauseous medicine and she put me on zofran. At first i didn't wanna take it cuz i don't like taking anything when pregnant even if it is safe to take.
I have been on zofran just about every day for the past 4 weeks... Its perfectly safe to take while pregnant.
i been having moring sickness since i was 6 weeks i tryed not to any meds of it but then i couldn't handle it so i got some meds called promethazine i took it once and it made me feel high and it made me also throw up like an hour later. so then i heard that zofran is way better so i asked my doctor for it so he prescribe it but then i found out my insurance does not cover it and i would have to pay 100$for 30 pills.
My last mensrtual cyle was on september 16 so I dont know how long I am or when I got pregnant. Well the question is I am not bleeding or anything but I am worried since I have had two misscariages. I have never had a morning sickness sign of pregnancy is that ok? I know many of you had it and hated it but as much as it sounds funny I which I had morning sickness. To make sure ma baby was ok.
My doctor put me on Zofran and I hesitated because I was worried about taking prescription drugs while pregnant. I'd be interested in hearing the good and bad from those who may have taken it too. I'm so sick that I wonder if I'm doing my baby more harm by not at least trying to find relief. I picked up the RX today....boy is it expensive. My insurance covered $900 of the 30 tablets, and I was left with a $75 co-pay. I'm taking 4 tablets per day. Yikes!
I'm 9weeks pregnant and my nausea is out of control. I feel sick all day and most of the time can't keep much down. I feel like I've loss alot of weight. And I'm worried that something might be wrong.
Pretzels would help me when I felt nauseous.
I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant and experience this when I get hungry as well, It has been the whole entire pregnancy for me so I try my hardest to eat 6 small meals a day to keep my tummy from ever getting hungry so I don't end up throwing up, also you can try to drink some water (or whatever else you desire) sometimes your stomach thinks your hungry but your really not so by drinking water it fixs the problem. I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months!!!
When I was pregnant with my daughter I weighed 118 but then that changed rather quickly I started to show at 3 months. I have a friend though she is tall and thin she never showed even at 9 months.
For the past 3 days I feel alot better, and not wearing the sea band or any thing like that, I still feel a little nauseous but not throw up anymore, no more head ace and this morning my boobs not as sore anymore. I called my doc yesterday and told him and he said not to worried its fine but I cant help but to think some thing is wrong.
I'mm 22weeks pregnant and I'm still vommiting every day. Have really good days and bad days with uncontrolable mood swings, my emotions are everywhere. Sometimes, I'm over the moon other times I am severly depressed. Not sure if im feeling movement yet, when do you feel a strong kick? Is anyone else having a similiar experience to me? I'm so excited, but still have a long way to go! Can you see clear features of your baby at the 22week scan??
It worked for about 2 hours and then made me sick as a dog. I puked for 4 hours then they gave me zofran. Between the zofran and the moraphine my labor stalled out. The dr still can not assist my labor until I get to 5cm. I'm only 1/2 a cm away. Anyhow they sent me home so that I can relax and take it easy and wait for labor to start back up again. The nurses are great they all feel sorry for me. They were giving me tips on how to jump start labor tonight.
I bought some mat clothes from a lady who was pregnant with her fourth and she swore by zofran also, the one that starts with a d didn't do anything for her apparently.
