zofran

Avatar f tn ve used it for migraine nausea as well as with pregnancy. It works quick and no side effects for me. Life saver!
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken Zofran and what are some of your side effects? My morning sickness has been horrible...the worst ever. I am usually in bed all day and feeling like I can't do anything. My doctor initially prescribed Diclegis, but it doesn't help me. It made me sleep all day, causing me to skip meals and drinks. It also have me bad headaches. So I asked my DR to please let me try something else. At this point, I'm in tears because I can't keep anything down. Dr calls in Zofran.
Avatar f tn Nothing wrong with my babies. I feel like there is a risk with every medicine. If you look up side effects to anything there is always somethi g.But sometimes you don't have a choice. I was puking non stop. Until 20 weeks. Side effects are very minimale to very few people.
Avatar f tn They have other drugs likes Phenergan and Compozine, but the side effects are long and AWFUL (I know because I have taken both). I just looked at the med fact on Zofran and while it doesn't say much about breastfeeding while taking Zofran, there aren't any known problems with taking it during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I took zofran and didn't feel any side effects from it, but I was only taking it on an as-needed basis. It's hard to tell if those symptoms are side effects or just pregnancy lol I think it may just he normal but I'd call and ask my doctor and he/she might recommend something for it to help you out.
Avatar f tn The risk associated with dehydration and malnutrition due to HG is far greater than the potential side effects of Zofran and Reglan. My little guy is perfectly healthy up to this point. To each their own though.
Avatar f tn My doctor gave me a Zofran substitute because the original was said to cause horrible side effects to the baby. But of course nothing is perfect and not worth risking my baby, so I stopped taking the substitute and have just been dealing with the throwing up (I'm now 33 weeks and I've thrown up since the first few days of being pregnant. It ***** but its not impossible to deal with).
Avatar n tn Every single commercial you see regarding a drug hits the rare side effects at the very end. Zofran is used in labor routinely and safely. I had to have it in both of my deliveries due to nausea and vomiting (seems I am a total wimp and that is part of my pain reaction). Listen to any drug add and they, at the very end, list a couple of things that according to the package inserts on these drugs is are very low but legally they have to mention them in order to broadcast an ad.
Avatar f tn It has unknown side effects just like every other medication there is on this earth! Do some online research into possible side effects, talk to your doctor about possible side effects, and read the packaging for possible side effects...
10874336 tn?1415760929 It has been studied for 50 years with zero correlation to negative side effects in the fetus. Only downside is it makes you really sleepy. Do your research.
Avatar f tn I have terrible morning sickness and I was given a prescription for ondansetron 4mg which is the generic version of zofran. I'm scared to take it because of the possible side effects and the warnings I've seen on TV. I don't want to take any risks when it comes to my baby. Any thoughts on this?
Avatar f tn s helped me and it says there are no side effects to me and my baby but some thing I was reading online says about causing cleft palates has anyone else taken this and is your baby perfectly fine?
8377023 tn?1399509160 I took zofran too and am 38 weeks and my baby is more than healthy. Everything we do can possibly have side effects. I'm just giing to stop drinking water too... If something is going to be wrong then it's going to be wrong that's all.
Avatar f tn I took a couple things for my morning sickness, it was just so bad. I can't remember but everything I took made me sicker. If it was prescribed by your ob they are confident that it's safe. You can try it or just deal with your morning sickness the old fashioned way, which ia what I ended up doing.
Avatar m tn I think you need to have a serious discussion with your doctor, considering long term potential benefits and the seriousness of the side effects. Many people have trouble tolerating the treatment and if you feel it's too much to take, then by all means stop it. I'm not an advocate of ECT, but my point is simply that in the bigger picture you can't simply write it off as "bad.
12103503 tn?1423448886 There are "possible side effects" from any drug but it is classified as a safe to use in pregnancy drug in the drug guide. They wouldn't prescribe it as much as they do if there was a serious Worry. I've been taking it this whe time and all sonograms have turned up fine- and in a few weeks I expect to see a healthy perfect baby girl. If you're sick enough it's prescribed then you should take it.
Avatar f tn It is true, but there are risks and possible side effects with any medications.
Avatar f tn The risks of defects associated with Zofran occur before 12 weeks of pregnancy. I had to take it for a few weeks during that period before my morning sickness went away. They check for defects and everything at your 20 week scan. It seems like she prescribed it because the risk of you running into a health issue due to your weight loss is higher than a birth defect caused by Zofran.
Avatar f tn I'm so sick of seeing this. -_- zofran has side effects, EVERY PILL HAS SIDE EFFECTS. But that does not mean it will happen. Jeeze people. Do you believe everything google tells you too??
Avatar f tn My OB prescribed me this for my nausea and like a dumb dumb I goggled the side effects and they seem like they outweigh the benefits. Has anyone else taken this drug while pregnant?
7753764 tn?1401853590 ve been taking Zofran the dissolvable tablet every morning and every evening and had only occasionally been throwing up well this morning I woke up with a horrible headache which is sadly one of the side effects of Zofran but it beats throwing up 6 times a day well now even the pill isn't helping. I have thrown up everything I've eaten today and all I've eaten is a bowl of cereal. Anyone else experience this?
Avatar f tn I had to take it with my first from week 6 to week 42! I would have starves to death or died of dehydration without it. I lost 33 pounds while pregnant with my daughter. She is 3 years old and perfect in every way. I am not saying that some people won't have side effects from it but it is probably being blown way up because if it was proven to be extremely dangerous doctors wouldn't prescribe it.
Avatar f tn I'm a RN and was so sick I couldn't function at work. Took zofran and it was the only thing that worked for me. I would suggest taking a stool softener with it cause it will constipate you really bad.
