Any reviews on zofran ? Im 20 weeks and ive been taking it once a day almost my whole pregnancy to help me keep down food. But now im hearing bad things about it. I havent had an ultra sound yet so im worried about it?
I saw a commercial today saying that if you were pregnant and took zofran that you and your child could get a financial compensation. The Zofran caused the baby to get cleft pallet. Has anyone heard of any issues with zofran?? I was on that for the longest time for my sickness!

Has anyone took this medication?? Been feeling nauseated for abt 2wks and my doc prescribed me this today but I'm really skeptical abt this. He tried prescribing me Zofran and I turned it down immediately.

If so did your doctor warn you or advise you to stop taking it..My doctor prescribed it to me at around 11weeks..I stopped taking it around 17weeks only because I heard about the recall..I just wish my doctor wouldve warned me before prescribing me something potentially dangerous..had I known I wouldv'e never exposed my baby girl or myself to it..is anyone else in my boat?
I took Zofran but it was for an off label use not for nausea which is its general use. Although it does control nausea it can create it in a minor way so the best thing to do is eat food with it. And it can be a bit sedating. Long term for Zofran a liver function test is advised as was by my provider but that's true of many medications including what I am on now.
Am I the only one who doesn't understand why doctor keep prescribing zofran and its on commercial saying it may cause birth defects in your baby. Sorry but I don't wanna stop throwing up that bad.

A market withdrawal is when a drug is pulled from the market and that certainly is not the case with Zofran so the above information is incorrect.
I have had really bad morning sickness and the doctor prescribed me zofran and said it would help I took it and it had helped a lot but then today I looked it up and saw what it can cause so Im highly upset they gave it to me . I'm going to stop taking it and just deal with the sickness but can it already have harmed my baby ?
At my first doc appt she prescribed me zofran for the nausea. I was super excited until I Googled it and started reading all these bad things and now I'm nervous. After a week I finally caved and took a dose which made me feel normal again, and finally ate and kept it down. Has any other mommies taken the medicine and everything turn out ok? I don't wanna take it but it's the only thing that helps.
I am 14 weeks 6 days , and still sick . Have you talked to your OB about prescribing you something for nausea. I take 4mg of Zofran everyday and it helps a lot and it's on to take during pregnancy. Just talk yo your go our about options.
Try asking your doctor about prescribing you Zofran. It works really good. I would take it and within 10 minutes my nausea was gone.
I honestly wouldn't worry about the Zofran. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and just ran out about a month ago and had been taking them since I was about 11 or so weeks. My baby is just fine. They say every medicine will cause birth defects and what not. But if Zofran caused birth defects and they've been prescribing it since 1990 to women with morning sickness they would have caught on by now and wouldn't prescribe it anymore.
t take it any longer. I saw a commercial on tv telling ppl to call in if they took zofran while being pregnant and if they had birth defects, so it tells me its not safe. Pray for your baby and God will make a way! Good luck!
I was a scared to take it because i thought im harming my baby but my baby is looking to be fine im 17w+3d i now take zofran which helps me better. Crackers, ginger ale and all that was no help. Smelling those pops makes me sick lol but the doctor is not gonna give you something that will harm your baby. So its ok to take the medicine to help ease your sickness.
Zofran was created to help with nausea in cancer patients but some docs have been prescribing it for use by pregnant women for the same reason and in some cases the fda found that it was linked to heart malformations and cleft palates in some pregnancies all the fda said was they wanted to warn woman just in case something happened and the law firms are trying to get woman who didn't know this and their babies were born with either defect if u have taken the drug with no adverse reactions th
Well they say MOST women began to feel better around the beginning of the second trimester, hopefully you fall into that category of women. Ask your doctor about prescribing you Zofran. It's a anti nausea medicine that works wonders. Also don't let your belly become empty. It only makes it worse. I could only keep down cold fruit & smoothies forever.
Well the Zofran hasn't ever actually had a human have a direct problem from Zofran. There hasn't been direct proof, lawyers just noticed this was one thing in common women had when there children had a defect. But most woman are prescribed Zofran and have been for many years. Just talk to your doctor about it. In the research I have done and the doctors I have talked to say its safe to take.
I should also say that my experience of slowly improving may not be the norm. My OB's office said they have been prescribing it frequently for the women with bad nausea, and for many of them they felt dramatically better very quickly. The doctor even warned me that I may feel so much better I may think I miscarried, but more than likely, everything is fine, and the medicine is just working.
