Rash may be from allergy to zofran. She should STOP taking it and have allergy test for zofran done. If sore throat fels like a heartburn - acidic feeling, than this is from acid comming up from the stomach. She needs a BREAT TEST for H. pylori bacteria, which most commonly cause the gastritis, which causes this acid reflux.
What can I do for my morning sickness when my zofran only works for about 45 minutes? Crackers, water, eating, or carbonated drinks are not helping me either.
Hi Girls, Well, I came down with the stomach flu yesterday and would like to just crawl up under a rock. I couldn't keep anything down yesterday and today have managed to keep down some Sprite. I've never had the stomach flu with my other pregnancies. Does anyone know if it has any reprecussions? I'm only 7 weeks along. Thanks!
I haven't peed since like 4 pm yesterday evening so I'm probably dehydrated. Phenergan and zofran are not helping, even called my doc and he upped my dosage, still puking. Do you girls think it is flu or something else?
Just another name for stomach flu Viral gastroenteritis is an intestinal infection marked by watery diarrhea, abdominal cramps, nausea or vomiting, and sometimes fever. The most common way to develop viral gastroenteritis — often called stomach flu — is through contact with an infected person or ingestion of contaminated food or water. If you're otherwise healthy, you'll likely recover without complications.
if u have a dr u can call i would call them and tell them u have the flu if they dont know the truth and they can give u a script for zofran it is AMAZING they use it for nausia for chemo patients i LOVE the stuff..
I have had the same problem for about a month now, when I was younger (about ten or eleven) I had the 'eggy burps' usually after I had been particularly sick with one of the strains of flu (particularly stomach flu) just recently it got worse, it was non-stop hell for a day and a half, and now that I have just recently started eating properly again, I've noticed that there is always one connection to this problem (for me anyway, it could be different for everyone) if I eat any type of cheese, I
Still not wanting to eat since I feel very nauseated even just drinking the water. Any ideas? Stomach flu? Severe morning sickness? Combo? I haven't had my first ob appointment yet since I'm 6wks4days today. My appt is scheduled for Dec 2nd. I have been doing the 1oz of water thing as recommended by a nurse at a local small town hospital.
I also think you should ask your dr for something to take care of your cough, bless your heart. I had bronchitis a few weeks ago & took some Tussin (prescription strength) for it & I grilled both my dr and pharmacist (which happens to be my dh) about it being safe for pregnant women which they assured me it was. I hope you get to feeling better really, really soon!!
yes she would be in the hospitol with iv fluids if she was pg and puking that much there is no way i believe much of what shehas to say. she is not in the bathroom, she is trying to figure out what to say next.
I had 2 bouts of stomach flu while there and had spells of rapid heart rates. I had to be monitored constantly...I was dilated 4cm ehe I went in and had off and on contractions...the baby was great through all of this and was born 4 weeks early ( I was induced) weighing in at 7 pounds 11 ozs. His name is Marty Jr. after my husband. We both went home in 24 hrs thank goodness as I was tired of being there. He is doing great and is an absolute testamony to God's grace and goodness!! I'm so blessed.
My mums sickness was always managed by anti-sickness drugs until she went on caeylx. Keep encouraging your mum to drink water and ask her doctor for something for constipation. My mum suffered with a bowel obstruction so if you can keep things 'moving' all the better. One other thing, feeling overwhelmed is completely natural. I went to all my mums hospital appointments with her and I felt exactly the same. But it made me and my mum even closer which I didn't think possible.
On past treatments he has also had Zofran for nausea, raw ginger/ginger candy/ginger tea for nausea, procrit, neuopogen, and antibiotics for various sides
Hey - I've been taking the medicine when I first wake up too - maybe I will try tomorrow to take it after I've had breakfast. Thanks for letting me know that! It's nice to have input from others that are going through the same thing! Can't wait to try it differently tomorrow! Thanks for the advice!
I know i ask alot, but i realy want to know what to expect for him, and what can i do for him if anything, if it is not the real flu then mustard plaster wont work, but a hot toddie might, I called the closest detox to us and the further one both are full but i can call every hour to see if a bed opens up, but they want me to go to the hospital and get something called protocal for him before bringing him, i called the hospital and the nurse said that protocal is up to the doctor if he wants to
Zomig 5 mg pill as abortive (which I often take after Zofran so it works). Zomig spray of I need something fast, or I've eaten (works best for me on empty stomach. I also take magnesium and butterbur each day. What I have tried: nortriptyline, a beta blocker, more topomax, and anti convulsive. Relax, imatrex, sumitriptan, frova, dhe (migranol). IV treatments. Steroids to halt multi-day headaches. Summary: the combo of amitriptyline and Botox for migraines has worked the best for me.
I can forget about using that arm for a few days as well! The Dr. gave me a prescription for Zofran. I am sooo tired of feeling nauseous and heaving all day. I took one and actually ate a normal meal! I am thrilled I will make it through Thanksgiving...I really didn't want to be running to my BIL's bathroom every 10 minutes! And who wants to feel sick when the SIL always makes a perfect dinner! We finally told our oldest DD yesterday, and she is surprisingly excited.
He drove down here and gave me some zofran and oral phenergan. I gave my son some zofran too and my best friend used one of my phenergan suppositories. I was able to let her drive me to the store so I could get gatorade for my son and soup for me. Just getting vertical and walking around without becoming ill made a lot of my pain better. I am doing so much better now. My son, however, is still very sick.
Earlier in my pregnancy (9 weeks) i got a super bad 24 hour stomach flu, and now i am 13 weeks and i just got over a a pretty bad 7 day head cold which started with a sore throat, i better for only 3 days and now im getting sick again ( i can feel it coming) ahhh this *****, i am sick of feeling yucky ): I am mostly just venting right now lol
but the entire time they were giving me meds for my stomach, xanax 0.5mg to help with sleep and more seroquel and a few other light drugs to help with the discomfort. and of course Naltrexone By day 3 I was golden still a little bit of loose stool but not one withdraw symptom.. I exp slight fatigue.. The rest of the time I was fine. I enjoyed in house acupuncture, massage and yoga. We had our own chief and all the amenity of home..
Of course I brought him back to his doctor to be examined since the office was now open. His Dr ensured me that it was just the stomach flu and he was still dehydrated and to keep up on the pedialyte. However now he's refusing it and throws up at even the sight of the bottle.. He has nothing at all in his stomach so he keeps dry heaving and seems in so much pain from it. Still today he's throwing up even with taking zofran for nausea. He's hardly wetting diapers and he's sooo not himself.
im not throwing up just nauseated everytime i move, and i work so this totally ***** for me!!! i cat phenergan because i am allergic to it but maybe he can get me some zofran! i have appt thursday so i am gonna try and hang it there!
I went to the ER the first day the nausea hit me b/c I was so dehydrated.. is it normal for the stomach flu to last this long??
What can u do for a stomach virus while ur pregnant.?? Other than drinking lots of fluids...(i throw the water right up) i juss took a zofran so im hoping it helps.
I had it on Friday to have an endometrioma (ovarian cyst) and endometriosis removed. It is now Wednesday and I still feel nauseous despite taking Zofran (nausea medication). I am able to eat but just have a general feeling of nausea, almost like being carsick, all the time. I haven't vomited but woke up two nights in a row in the middle of the night feeling as if I was going to be sick. I called my doctor and am awaiting a call back.
When I get these attacks I have shrugged them off as stomach flu, but 4 times in 3 months is ridicrulas (sp). It has gotten so bad I have ended up in the ER twice. I was given zofran and it has worked well. Each attack is slightly different, the last one was the worst, the pain and nausea lasted all day. I have a really bad fear of vomitting and I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what could it be?
I'm on Zofran too! Due to weight loss from not keeping ANYTHING down. It's done wonders for me too! I didn't even think to suggest that. I'm glad someone else did!
Perhaps for her next cycle, they could do Aloxi in her IV and give her 3 Emend pills to take, 1 each for first 3 days. This was very effective for me, zofran did not make a dent. Wondering if scalp itches due to allergic reaction to something...
I'm so sorry you are having continuing nausea! Have you tried Zofran? It worked miracles for me. Ginger can also be very helpful in some people. You can make a tea with slices of fresh ginger root, or nibble candied ginger, or drink ginger ale, or even take ginger in capsules. The ribavirin is hard on the GI tract, and the ribavirin takes six months to fully eliminate from your body.
