zofran dosage nausea

She is taking the following ani-nausea medicines zofran every 8 hours and taking promethazine every 4 hours. Does anyone have any suggestions to help with the nausea? Also if you are on or have had cisplatin , please let us know what your dosage is and how bad the nausea is? Her intial treatment was ( i think ) 160 mg and it is to be given every 28 days. her DR is planning on either doing a reduce dosgae every 2 weeks or 1 a week to help reduce side effects...

Ask your doctor for some to help you with the nausea. Lorazapam helps some, but when nausea is really bad, take Zofran.

Any suggestions on nausea relief? I was prescribed Zofran but I prefer not to take it. Any home remedies you can recommend?

My instructions are every 8 hours *as needed* but I have only been taking them once a day, after lunch, because my 3pm meds seem to cause the worst nausea. How do you take Zofran in relation to other meds? An hour before? An hour after? Only when you feel sick? What has worked best for you?? Thanks!

I used ginger candy during tx, but have used zofran in the past for extreme nausea. The zofran worked very well. I used it when I was nauseous rather then before I might be nauseous. They both work pretty good for me..the zofran does work a little better for me though but it makes me so constipated (tmi) and the promethazine will make you so sleepy! I still need both occasionally :/ 32 weeks today!

I think it is worth it. What have you tried so far? Many people with mild nausea get a lot of help from ginger (tea, candied, or capsules), and keeping your fluid intake very high is helpful too. If the nausea is severe those measures probably won't do it and you should try prescription meds. Most of us have had very good results from Zofran, though there are occasional people who get nothing but a headache from it. For me, Zofran is nothing short of a miracle.

At 6 weeks I was diagnosed with Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) which is chronic vomiting, nausea, dehydration and weight loss. I started out with Zofran (every 4 hours), then they added Reglan (every 6 hours) orally. By 10 weeks it was getting worse, so I had to get a home care nurse and IV's all day. The doctors also have me on a 24 hour Zofran pump which puts the meds directly into my stomach.

is it ok to give 7-8 lb chihuahua 4 mg dissolving tablet for nausea/vomiting (keeps vomiting her water every time she drinks), otherwise she seems to be feeling ok, just having trouble keeping it down 2day, @ 15 mins after she drinks just vomits w/o notice (no hacking like they usually do when they vomit) just comes out seemingly uncontrollably. We already gave her Pepto & she vomited that as well.

I am taking zofran and it's perfectly safe and a class b drug. The ads on tv are just lawyers trying to get money for a case they can't prove. The birth defects they state are the most common among all babies born no matter a family history or not. Don't be afraid to take it if you need it. If you are that afraid though, look up the study of 600,000 pregnant women in denmark in 2013 that proved it was safe.

I am still getting sick on a daily basis, I'm prescribed phenergan but I still puke once daily which isn't a huge deal, but any suggestions as far as helping with nausea when I am out of my medication?

Yea nothing helped mine when I tried the natural remedies. Besides cold water sometimes... but I had to get Zofran prescribed from my doctor because omg i couldn't handle it and I had work and class that I couldn't miss.

Worked awesome for the nausea and sickness... I then got constipated..

I took diclegis and it was a life saver. It's geared towards prego women unlike Zofran which is general anti nausea.

( because it hurt so bad. But the zofran Is for nausea. It is amazing! Tell them you have really really bad nausea so they give you a large quantity with refills too! Otherwise you might only get a handfull. But I needed it every morning as soon as I woke up.

Hi this is my 3rd pregnancy 2and for my first one I suffered 24/7. This time round I am using zofran 2 takes most of nausea away and stops most vomiting ( unless baby doesn't like what I have eaten. It's been a godsend as I need 2 be able to look after my other 2 kids as well.

Yes, definitely ask your doctor fir zofran. I couldnt even hold water down and the doctor prescribed me zofran bc I waa getting dehydrated.
