Okay, So i tested positive for Chlamydia infection & BV, took the 4 pills of Zithromax, and got my medication (for bv).
It must have been too much for my stomache because i vomited it all up later on that day. I still feel the symptoms for chlamydia, (i.e. i feel the same from before i was treated) and now i am seeing that i have blood in my urine.
Whats going on? Do i have to take the Zithromax all over again or should i be worried its something else?
Hi, a week and a half ago I started getting the symptoms of Gonorrhea or Chlamydia, I was tested and found I had Gonorrhea. However when my partner was tested he only had Chlamydia, and I haven't had any sexual contact outside the relationship.
Is a mis-diagnosis likely on one side?
I took Zithromax after the first appointment, and Ciproxin when I was diagnosed, so basically medication for both Gonorrhea and Chlamydia (single doses each).
Good point. I'm just ... i guess embarrassed and would rather just take those pills and hope for the best. I'm not planning on even touching her until I know its gone. I guess the plan is to see if the magic pill works, if not, I'll just be going to my doc.
Plus to kind of add to my original post, I had chlamydia long time ago (I know, I know, I'm a ***** I guess) and had real bad burning. I went to the doc and the doc said it was chlamydia.
s doctor started him with a cycle of doxy, retested about 10 days later and he still came back positive. He then took zithromax and again came back positive for chlamydia in the culture but this time negative in the urine test. Was given another cycle of zithromax, this time a little more and tested for prostate infections. Prostate came back negative, chlamydia still positive.
My friend doctor who prescribed me zithromax 1g as a single dose and a week of doxycline 100mg bid did not eradicate the disease as i had developed epididymitis and also my wife who could be also infected had bleeding in between menstrual period. my question is , what would be the alternative treatment and what other stds that would possibly infected us. please help, anyone? thanks a lot.
my boyfriend and i both got tested for chlamydia and results came back positive after one dose of zithromax i retested three weeks later and pcr was negative. he has since undergone a cycle of doxy and two zithromax cycles and still comes back positive in his tests. after first treatment, his urine tests started coming back negative but cultures positive. We have not had any sexual relations since our first diagnosis almost three months ago now?

I just tested negative for Chlamydia but seem to have some other UTI that is being very stubborn.
ie - I have completed full courses of the following anti-biotics:
Amoxicillin
Zithromax (azithrmycin)
Doxycicline
Ofloxacin
Still have the same sypmtoms...
I have been tested for Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Syphillis and HIV using urine and culture for the first 2 and blood for the last 2. All negative.
I just got cultured for Genitalium the other day, Awaiting results.
I've read that a longer course of Zithromax is more effective in treating Genitalium. 500 mg day one, and 250mg days 2-4.
I'm wondering if I'm screwed now because I've already had single doses of Zithromax 1g twice and am now resistant to Zithromax.
There is no such thing as chlamydia resistant to azithromycin (Zithromax). Even though you are convinced your chlamydial infection was acquired only 2 and a half days before the positive test, I am not. And even if you are right, chlamydia definitely cannot cause any symptoms that quickly; and the later symptoms could not have been due to chlamydia treated 2 weeks earlier. In other words, something other than chlamydia has caused any symptoms you have had.
it went away but came back, so possibly the Zithromax is not strong enough to eliminate possible MG. Presumably if it was MG then 1g Zithromax was doing no good & it was now resistant against it. However I then was given a 3rd 1g & it went away for 4years. So is MG ruled out based on this as i didn't take Moxi or 5days of Zithromax prior to the 4years clear spell? Note: Doxy was also taken prior to the 4year clear spell but this isn't good against MG.
It depends on what the dose is for zithromax - have you taken 1 gm at once? If you have, that would cure chlamydia and most causes of urethritis.
Cipro might or might not cure gonorrhea. Its not the first line of treatment anymore, as many strains are resistant to it.
Amox won't kill any std.
Have you been to the doc for these symptoms? You really need to be.
s are resistant to Cipro. I have also read that you should treat for both gonorrhea and chlamydia at the same time thus the overkill with the doses. I guess my question is since I did see one small discharge 2 days ago but have seen nothing since, does this mean it is likely cured if I even had it? I will get tested ASAP but was hoping that the discharge gone and no other symptoms present meant I had cleared it up quickly if I had it. Thanks again for your response..
I went to an STD clinic 9 days ago (the day after the symptoms recurred, following sex), where I tested negative for gonorrhea. They also took tests for chlamydia and syphilis (not related to the burning, but their general policy), which still haven't been come back yet. They went ahead and gave me single-dose blasts of metronidazole (aka flagyl) for the possibility of trichomoniasis, and azithromycin for the possibility of chlamydia.
I have taken 1000mg of Zithromax and 500mg Cipro for Gonorrhea and Clamydia this was 5 day ago. My symptoms are much better and get better by the day. I still have a slight tingle feeling at the tip of my penis and a slight urge to urinate (especially when I sit) again though, better today than yesterday. I also suspect that I make the sinsations worse just thinking about it so much.
It works by fighting bacteria within the body, so yes it should cure
genitalium, and seeing if the doctor will prescribe moxifloxacin, as it appears to be resistant to Zithromax and doxy, and rocphin. The differences I notice with this is a slight irritation in my throat, and I did not kiss or perform orally on this woman. And I have had a slightly runny nose since getting this, and she had been complaining about her nose running for like three weeks when we would have sex, so it seems like this could have something to do with what I caught.
Hi, I took 1 g of zithromax for Chlamydia and 400 mg of Suprax for Gonorrhea as i had symptoms of the following:
- burn while urination
- smelly urine
- stomach ache, lower back pain & joint pains.
- blood in urine near finishing
- desire to urine more frequently even if it was a little amount
- white discharge
Sent in a urine test 4 days ago but dont get the results until next week.
The test could be wrong because antibiotics affect test results. Testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia should be done 1 month after last antibiotic intake.
You symptoms are not consistant with protatisis, however if you concerned about it talk to your medical provider/doctor.

I dated a guy back from October-December and we had sex about 5 times. I know it is not healthy to do this but I recently became paranoid and took 1g of Zithromax today just in case of a STD. I was tested before this guy and was clean. I am unable to get a STD test due to facilities closing pretty early and will get one in a couple months but do you think the 1g would have cured gonnoreha, chlamydia, and syphilis if I did have it?
