Avatar m tn I got diagnosed with epididymitis a week ago and the pain has just now began to leave. Is this common and how long does it normally take for the pain to go completely away along with the swelling? My scrotum hasn't swollen and i've had a ultrasound, blood test, and urine sample and all came back negitive for cancer or a tumor. I'm really frightened about it and hope that this is just epididymitis.
Avatar n tn The reason I know my body does not hold on to things long is the unusually quick amount of time THC leaves my system relative to anyone I know or what the testers expected to see. (2 weeks after daily use a negative lab result with 'funky' creatine lvls.) (not proud of this part but...) April... Wanting to believe the 90%+ success statistics the doctor quoted me the second time around I had unprotected sex with a girl for the first time around day 12 after the last day of treatment.
Avatar f tn 6 days should be ok. PP will get all results back, can't say how long it takes because it is different for every testing facility.
Avatar n tn Had total shut down in my breathing abilities. Had ProAir on hand and had to take it every three hours for four days to to feel I was able to breath at all. I started researching and I found that Symbicort can cause Adrenal failure and Immunosuppression. You wouldn't think possible using medications for 30 days. I began with having food intolerance to most everything. I found I could no longer tolerate preservatives, food colorings, the list goes on. I cough constantly.
Avatar n tn But, as of today it seemed that my urination and the burning sensation had slightly increased. how long does the zithromax take to work and how long till the symptoms subside? Do the two pills just work away at it for week? Is it normal to have a slight peak of symptoms when taking the zithromax?
Avatar f tn As in, not how long should you abstain, but how long does it take to actually kill the bacteria? And what is the range for people of varying metabolisms? Question 2 is - is the dead bacteria in your system that is being flushed out contagious?
Avatar m tn 1. Is that blog correct? how long does it actually take to become non-contagious 2.
Avatar f tn Hello there! I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. Just to try to understand the situation a little better, what medication did you react to, and what was your reaction? What was the doctor's rationale behind instructing you to stop the zoloft? Any other pertinent medical history, other medications or medical conditions, and any drug/alcohol use/abuse? It COULD be that with stopping the zoloft abruptly, then restarting it, that you're having a hard time tolerating it.
645800 tn?1466864555 I am getting somewhat deperate to get some real care and treatment. It is like every day it is getting harder for me to take care of myself and I sure don't want to end up in some nursing home because of that.

5248641 tn?1367590847 Lyme is a tricky bacterium related to syphilis, and like syphilis, it can hide in the body where the immune system cannot easily find it, and continue to do its dirty work over a long long period of time. The good news is that both Lyme and syphilis are curable, when treated promptly with antibiotics. "Crying helps but doesnt cure anything... " too true.
Avatar f tn I was talking on the phone with my sister and started to slur my words, my mouth muscles felt tight and I couldn’t get my words to sound right, I sounded drunk. Once again, it didn’t last long and I let it go again. Around the same year, I had some neck stiffness that appeared while at a meeting at work. I was very stressed at the meeting and my neck started to hurt instantly. This lasted up to a month. Never knew what happened, just stiff neck and couldn’t work. I was approx. 28 yrs.

10506901 tn?1431354357 it is short for 'Lyme-literate medical doctor', meaning an MD who understands the unique qualities of Lyme and how to treat it. It is not a degree or a certificate, and identifying a doc who practices in the manner of an LLMD can be difficult, because many of them do not want to be identified for fear of ostracism by the medical establishment. The politics of Lyme are often quite ugly.
Avatar m tn I am wondering how long it takes for the symptoms of an infection (if it is bacterial) to wear off? I ve heard 2 weeks from the presentation of symptoms is that correct? HELP!!
Avatar n tn 3 days might be short for the flagyl to work, I'd give it more like a week to see if it was effective. If your Chlamydia infection is still persisting, an excellent choice here would be Clarithromycin (Biaxin is the brand name). It has higher activity than Azithromycin, and you could take up to 1g per day for 14 days as a dosage. This is quite a high dose, but in your case it might be just what you need to clear your infection.
1138565 tn?1297107912 Hopefully it will be the help you need to get back on your feet and back to work, where you can afford insurance. I hope this helps. I know it sure helped me.
Avatar f tn Thanks, I appreciate your remarks. Like many, I'm all too familiar with how confusing this is to doctors! It took me 5 specialists and over a year before I went to an LLMD. And your advice about the Western blot is very true. I had negative ELIsAs in Jan and July. Because of that, my doctors wouldn't order a W. blot. My LLMD finally did, I'm still waiting for the results. Quinn, I hope the neuro appt. went well.
Avatar m tn Do you know how much time it does take? 2. My doctor has recommended that if this doesn't work then I should try diflucan. Could this be a possibility since I have cracks on my penishead and it is red?
Avatar n tn We all have bacteria in our mouths, and sometimes those bacteria - and I don't know the names of them - can enter the urethra and cause an infection. http://www.webmd.com/sexual-conditions/guide/20061101/oral-sex-may-spread-common-std http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/500537 It could be transmitted to your partner. how long your results take depends entirely on the doc and the lab, and how they communicate.
Avatar n tn The girl that gave it to me had obviously (now it is to me) been batteling her chlamydia for a long time. Now the questions are.... is this a chlamydria strain that is resistive to popular antibiotic treatment, or is that her own immune system combined with the antibiotics was not stong enough to fight the chlamydia. If this is the case, then possibly she is HIV positive. If this is the case, possibly it applies to me as well.
Avatar f tn 0, so either it's a useful book or ALL his family members wrote in to support it. I got messed up after a long but successful antibiotic treatment for babesia and Lyme, because I got a massive systemic yeast (=fungal) infection that I seem to be genetically susceptible to. My Lyme doc said he had never seen that in anyone, but I suspect there are others who just don't have the symptoms I did. Partly I think it was because my Lyme doc prescribes S.
Avatar f tn Given my reactions so far to the meds, it sure seems like herxing rather than just side effects. I wonder how long it will last. I liked being able to breathe last week.
