I got tested and was given 1 gram of zithromax and 7 days of levaquin. That was on monday night i was treated and then that saturday morning I had unprotected sex with an uninfected partner. Is it possible I could have infected the partner? They told me the zithromax would wipe it out right away but it seems from reading these forums that that could not be the case. I have been active since iwth the same person and now I feel I might have been infected agian.
Two days ago, I saw my doctor again and he prescribed 1 gram of zithromax. Thankfully, my symptoms have yet to produce a fever as that would have me literally going out of my mind. Here are my questions:
1. Based on the 2 grams of keflex and the 1 gram of zithromax, can I assume if I was exposed to an STD
such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, or NGU that the aforementioned meds would successfully deal with them?

To add to this the state health Dep went ahead and gave me 1 Gram Zithromax on 3-Jan-08 and then I took another 1 gram Zithromax the next day I had in the house. Then a week later a Doc put me on Doxycycline for 7 days and Bactrim for 5 days on 9-Jan. I already had HSV-1 and no signs down there of HSV-2. Please give advice. 28-Jan will be 30 days after exposure and 4-Feb will be 37 days after exposure.
Hi all , ok here is my concern , I had an unprotected encounter with a girl woke up the next day and took 1g gram of zithromax ,as for the fear of catching nsu or Chlamydia, 9 days later i booked my self in for a full screening , and all my tests came back negitive , my worry is would me taking zithromax 9 days before the test effect the gonorrhea result ,

Anyways doc gave me 1 gram of zithromax to take again and 1 gram of flagyll i believe. I am taking those tomorrow. I have not had sex since i was initially treated a month and a half ago. I have not been on any antibiotics in years until now. What does this mean that my infection wont go away?

I dated a guy back from October-December and we had sex about 5 times. I know it is not healthy to do this but I recently became paranoid and took 1g of Zithromax today just in case of a STD. I was tested before this guy and was clean. I am unable to get a STD test due to facilities closing pretty early and will get one in a couple months but do you think the 1g would have cured gonnoreha, chlamydia, and syphilis if I did have it?
In England we only give a single gram of zithromax for chlamydia as that is considered more thsan enough to kill the offending organism. 2 grams is really overkill in my opinion and it is more likely to give you antibiotic side effects such as diarrhoea. I would definately say that if it is chlamydia you are treating, 1 gram is enough and certainly taking it over two days would be fine.
m worried, I shamefully cheated on my wife one time only on the 5th of June, 5 days later I strted to need to pee all the time, I visited my doctor on the 15th June and he tested me for Clymadia and Gonnorhea and gave me 1 gram of Zithromax to take straight away. The results came back negative. 2 weeks later the need to urinate came back again, and 4 times since then I've had a tiny amount of clear discharge in the morning.
I went to the doctor and he Physically examined me without any tests being done. As a precautionary measure he prescribed 1 gram of zithromax and told me that if I indeed had Gonorrhea or Chlamydia that the single dose would cure it.
Is this correct? I've been reading that 2 gm would be necessary for Gonorrhea and 1 gm would take care of Chlamydia. I called him today to make sure he prescribed the proper dose and he reassurred me that 1 gram is all that is needed.

To treat Chlamydia the dose is 1 Gram or four 250 mg tabs. This 1 gram dose is also a recommended treatment for NGU . I am not sure what the other 5 pills are for. ( Overkill ?). I recommend sticking to the recommended dose to prevent side effects. But I strongly urge you to go in for exam as good follow up is best. Take care.

The gram staining showed Negative for Trichomoniasis and Monilia. But says many coccobacilli, few gram positive bacilli with many pus cells and clue cells noted. Pap smear says I have Benign reactive changes (typical repair) and pathologist wrote "Severe acute inflammation". The itchiness and swelling subsided a bit with the antibiotic but the purulent discharge is still there but I no longer have to wear pantyliners cause it no longer leaks out.
Hello, I got tested for chlamydia saturday 12/13 and it came back as positive. They gave me one large dose of zithromax and it is Tuesday and I am still having some discharge. Is this normal? Does this mean that the antibiotics didn't work? How long should I wait before the symptoms are gone? Thank you for your help.
The National Institute of Health has a study which recommends zithromax along with rifampin for like a month to clear it, but most doctors will refuse to accept that a prostate infection of chlamydia is different than needing just 1 gram of Zithromax because they are uneducated or just like top bank money off of people and allowing them to die
s clinic my doctor smeared my discharge and we found out that im having a chlamydiazyme psotive with the test results of culture and sensitivity and gram, my urinalisis showed 2-4 pus cell so the doctor gave me a medicine 2 teblets of zithromax after 4 days he told me to take 7 days of doxycycline twice a day now its my 7th day and still im having discharges can someone have any idea could help me with this concern? thank you very much...
I felt some tingling/burning in my penis starting the next morning but that could also be in my head/my anxiety. I had an extra z-pack at home so I took 1g of zithromax last night. I am wondering if I should go get a shot of ceftriaxone and/or penicillin just to make my anxiety go away.

When I first noticed it, I took a 1 gram dose of ZITHROMAX and it did not clear up. Three weeks later I went and saw the doctor and they did a swab test, urine test, and blood test; the results for chlamydia and gonorrhea were negative. They also treated me symptomatically at the time of the above said visit for both mentioned STD’s. I still have a small discharge when I wake up and “milk” it and it appears to be clear and kind of watery.

Hi, further to my previous question about an encounter with a Thai csw I would value your advice. I asked the doctors but it seems my post was deleted and I don't know why, so I am asking here.
I did urine tests and was negative for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. However there was gram positive cocci (few) present which the doctor has given me antibiotics for.
Obviously given the context of all of this I am quite scared again.
#1 I went to the clinic and tested positive for NGU, and negative for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. They gave me 1gram of Zithromax in a powder drink for treatment. My symptoms persisted so I went back and was tested again. They told me my white blood cell's showed up as "occasional" meaning that my treatment should of been fine and they could not help me if I still had the same symptoms.
#2 I went to my family doctor and explained the situation.
s doctor started him with a cycle of doxy, retested about 10 days later and he still came back positive. He then took zithromax and again came back positive for chlamydia in the culture but this time negative in the urine test. Was given another cycle of zithromax, this time a little more and tested for prostate infections. Prostate came back negative, chlamydia still positive.
