zithromax for cellulitis

My poor niece just had surgery on a hernia(spelling?) on the inside of her leg 8 days ago. Yesterday my sister noticed a big bruise on her lady parts and major swelling had started to form right by the incision. The doctors aren't sure what it is or what caused it, they're thinking its cellulitis but for it to be cellulitis there has to be an abscess which hasn't formed. Prayers that these damn drs can figure out what the issue is and fix it!

I was with someone exposed to both. I am taking one dose of 1.5g of zithromax to stop or cure myself from catcing of having either one. Will this work and or do the job?

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's Cellulitis. So you know, this is the adult Diabetes II forum. Your post really belongs in the Dermatology forum since Cellulitis is a skin related disease more so than Diabetes glucose/insulin related. Is your husband hospitalized? To my understanding Cellulitis treatment may require hospitalization if it is severe enough to warrant intravenous antibiotics and close observation by doctors. Body and/or muscle aches are part of the symptoms.

I have had fibromyalgia for over 10 years now, and I have had cellulitis for about 6 yrs. I must be on antibiotics as well as steroid creams, and it comes & goes. However the last bout I had lasted 9 months. My doctor did not say if this was caused by the fibromyalgia, but he did say it was caused by an infection.

s friends, it seemed fine and then two days later started getting really bad, well an iv for seven days later... Turns out I got cellulitis. I thought it was a fluke so I got another one done by him and same thing. After that I haven't had anything for a few years. Now bring to last year... I popped a pimple and ended up with cellulitis really bad on my face... Which happened two more times after that.

t heal and should I seek immediate medical attention or should I take some antibiotics for a week and wait for it to improve. And which antibiotics should i used in particular to treat cellulitis.

Afternoon. I have had cellulitis in my nose for over a month.... took Bactrim, Clindamycin, and another 5 days of Bactrim.. which didn't help in the first place... but... i have this swollen membrane (i guess) from the tip of my nose about 1/2 inch back... it always feels like it is going to swell up again.... with no insurance another 125.00 is not what I want to pay since it seems like none of that helped anyway... anybody have any thoughts on this one???

based on fact it recurred twice having taken 1g Zithromax but on 3rd attempt of 1g Zithromax it went away for 4years? I.e If it was MG in first instance it appeared to be resistant to first two doses of 1g Zithromax so it would't have gone away on the third dose. 4) Could it be herpes? I have no symptoms. Should I get a type specific HSV test? Would it give a definitive answer for herpes? 5) My regular partner was checked before for Chlym & Gono. Nothing found.

As far as I have heard, "puppy strangles" or Juvenile Cellulitis, only occurs in puppies, and is rare in adult dogs. It is curable and a puppy can recover well with no long term ill effects. You could "google" this and there is lots of information out there about it. my wide took amoxcillin 1000 g 2 x times a day for a throat infection. She did this for 8 days. And i took 1g zithromax the same time and we didn't had sex for a week. Oktober: my wife was treated with azithromycine sandoz 1g and 500 mg the next day because she had her wisdom teeth removed. i took doxycycline 100 mg a day for 5 days and also 1,5 g zithromax on day 6. My wufe and i had sex after 7 days that i took the doxy and she the azithromycine. Questions.

t yet developed the infection, as would be indicated by the presence of a lesion or a positive blood test, than it takes for curative treatment. The augmentin taken twice daily for two weeks would certainly cure and prevent development of syphilis. The combination of cefixime and azithromycin would most probably prevent infection but it would not be curative if the infection was established.

The next day after admission an infectious disease research specialist told her within my earshot that she had suspected MRSA (culture not thru yet) ad would she sign up for double blind study for an alternative to vancomycin.blah,.blah.blah. I confronted him about isolating her and he said we aren't sure..but we will.

This could be a result of the chlamydia, but it may be worth a call to your doctor. How are you taking the zithromax? You should have taken 1000 mgs at one time for it to be effective. I got tested and was given 1 gram of zithromax and 7 days of levaquin. That was on monday night i was treated and then that saturday morning I had unprotected sex with an uninfected partner. Is it possible I could have infected the partner? They told me the zithromax would wipe it out right away but it seems from reading these forums that that could not be the case. I have been active since iwth the same person and now I feel I might have been infected agian.

How long does it take for an infection to turn I to cellulitis? And at which point will you be hospitalized for it?
