s a godsend of a medication lol. I had a double ear infection, double sinus infection, and stage 1 phumonia(sp), and Zithromax had me cleared up and feeling better withen the same night of taking it. I was also worried to take it at first, so I called almost every pharmacy in town and asked about it, and I got the same answer, which is it's safe, and I even called my doc and double checked with him lmao.
Zithromax does cross into the placenta, but not as much as other antibiotics.
If you have an unprotected sex exposure and 3 days after a doctor gives you a zpac (1500mg of zithromax at one time) for possible Chy and GH exposure would that take care of both of those STD's?
If you then had a test 3 days after that (6 days from exposure) and everything came back negative, would that be reliable OR would the antibiotics you took possibly have tainted the results?
I have just finished a 5 day course of Cipro prescribed over the phone by an oncall physician last weekend for a UTI. I had a non-specific UTI about 4 years ago. It was not gonorrhea or chlamydia as determined by my urologist.
My main symptom this time, however, is not discharge or burning as it was last time. It is a feeling of fullness in my bladder. Could this be the medication causing this? I have a follow up this week.
Welcome back to the Forum. Before I comment on your symptoms, let me assure you that they are not caused by chlamydia. Your probability of infection during the encounter you describe is minimal. The azithromycin you had last taken 2 days earlier would still be in your body and would prevent infection from occurring. You negative tests for chlamydia prove that you do not have chlamydia so this is not something you need be concerned about.
t yet developed the infection, as would be indicated by the presence of a lesion or a positive blood test, than it takes for curative treatment. The augmentin taken twice daily for two weeks would certainly cure and prevent development of syphilis. The combination of cefixime and azithromycin would most probably prevent infection but it would not be curative if the infection was established.

I have had unprotected sex with a girlfriend and after three weeks i experienced a cloudy discharge from my penis and also a tingling sensation which I suspect as a chlamydial infection or NGU. I took 1g of zithromax and also took 5days of doxycycline 100mg. bid. After the medication my symptoms disappeared. After a few days however my testicles ached after i drank a large amount of liqour. I took another zithromax dosage and this time 1g on the first day and 500mg for another two days.
my wide took amoxcillin 1000 g 2 x times a day for a throat infection. She did this for 8 days. And i took 1g zithromax the same time and we didn't had sex for a week.
Oktober: my wife was treated with azithromycine sandoz 1g and 500 mg the next day because she had her wisdom teeth removed. i took doxycycline 100 mg a day for 5 days and also 1,5 g zithromax on day 6. My wufe and i had sex after 7 days that i took the doxy and she the azithromycine.
Questions.
This could be a result of the chlamydia, but it may be worth a call to your doctor. How are you taking the zithromax? You should have taken 1000 mgs at one time for it to be effective. It doesn't sound like that's what you're doing?

Aug 19 - Local STD clinic did urethral swab (hurt like hell) and took urine sample. Told me its NGU – gave me generic Zithromax 1G one dose. Urine tests not back for 3 weeks. Told its not Gonorrhea.
Aug 22 – Feeling of really burning in urethra, NOT when I urinate but after – feels like something is still there and wants to drip out 1cm inside, itchy tip too on and off. Feels like I always have to pee, like something is still in my bladder but nothing, or little comes out.
Although there were no sysmptoms. It was a bladder infection or clymidia. Id not really been too active at the time so I said to rule out the 2nd one, lol. They gave me a shot in the butt and 1 zithromax & 1 other pill. Its about a year & a week later noww my penis head itches. There's a slight warm sensation down there also. I have cheated on my gf ONCE about a month ago, but didn't tell her. I think she suspected though...
I have been given 2 x 500 mg capsules for my chlamydia infection but as i don't like taking tablets
I'v opened the capsules and poured the contents into a cup of tea with 1 Teaspoon full of sugar.
To make sure i have consumed the full dose i made another cup of tea in the same cup and consumed it again.
Two weeks later my older brother has told me the heat would of rendered the anti-biotic useless and that i still would have chlamydia.

Aug 22 Burning in urethra, NOT when I urinate but after, like urnine irritating and wants to drip out 1cm inside, itchy tip too on and off, something is still in my bladder but nothing, little comes out, bladder feels tight, crampy. Had hot flashes, panic attacks at night, cold sweats. Used a urethral swap q-tip with warm H2O to itch urethra inside….
based on fact it recurred twice having taken 1g Zithromax but on 3rd attempt of 1g Zithromax it went away for 4years? I.e If it was MG in first instance it appeared to be resistant to first two doses of 1g Zithromax so it would't have gone away on the third dose.
4) Could it be herpes? I have no symptoms. Should I get a type specific HSV test? Would it give a definitive answer for herpes?
5) My regular partner was checked before for Chlym & Gono. Nothing found.
m worried, I shamefully cheated on my wife one time only on the 5th of June, 5 days later I strted to need to pee all the time, I visited my doctor on the 15th June and he tested me for Clymadia and Gonnorhea and gave me 1 gram of Zithromax to take straight away. The results came back negative. 2 weeks later the need to urinate came back again, and 4 times since then I've had a tiny amount of clear discharge in the morning.
they were able to screen her on the spot for UTI or Bladder infection, but she was all clear. She insisted on a culture because she didnt want to start antibiotics without knowing. I do not know if its guilt or if I should rationalize this with science and understand that 4 days would have killed it and 7 days is a safety net--not a real body clock. The body doesnt say--today is day 7 cured...but these symptoms are making me question a lot. I almost told her I was unfaithful today.
