s a godsend of a medication lol. I had a double ear infection, double sinus infection, and stage 1 phumonia(sp), and Zithromax had me cleared up and feeling better withen the same night of taking it. I was also worried to take it at first, so I called almost every pharmacy in town and asked about it, and I got the same answer, which is it's safe, and I even called my doc and double checked with him lmao.
Zithromax does cross into the placenta, but not as much as other antibiotics.
So I am taking prednisone a steroid for 13 days, and zithromax a one time dosage today, and robitussin DM for cough and chest congestion.
The doc actually acidentally popped my ear drum today too, it sucked. He was sticking the instrament(sp) that looks inside the ears, and the ear drum was sooooo swollen it popped. So I had blood and puss running out of my ear for a while, until he flushed it out, so im now completely but temporarily deaf in my right ear lol.

Also my wife whom i had sex during the supposed incubation period also took 1g of zithromax and 5 days of 100mg. doxy bid.
Last weekend he was coughing violently and was put on zithromax thinking it was a sinus infection. However, how his cough, while subsided, sounds horrible. I heard a commercial for pertussis and that's how his cough sounds!
Would whooping cough make him not want to eat? He takes two bites of something and that's it. No fever, very active, some diarrhea, and this 'cough'.
Also, would the zithromax take care of it if it was whooping cough?

I had a sinus infection when I was in my mid 20 weeks and was prescribed Augmenten (sp?)- the dr who prescribed it said it was fine to take while I'm pregnant. I also called my OB clinic to double check and they told me it was fine to take. If you have an infection -and the doctors know you're pregnant - take what they give you. I felt HORRIBLE before the meds and was told by my clinic they'd rather I take care of myself... Now I'm 33 weeks and doing fine.

I took it at about 6pm and half way through the night, my neck (sternocleidomastoid near where it connects to my head) was very sore and swollen, my glands dont seem swollen though. Also felt sinus congestion and all around lousy. I have felt this way for over 60hours. Is this a side effect of Azithromycin? Does anyone have any other info for what might cause this?
So 6 days after being with him I got a sore throat, which turned into a sinus infection). I just finished a 5 day z pack that was prescribed for a sinus infection that was giving me severe headaches. m pretty sure it DID help the sinus infection/congestion, but for the last few days the shakiness, leg weakness, and occasional hot and sweaty feeling has been back. My left cheek and neck are a little swollen and feel sore, too, which started again last night.
The hot and shaky and weak thing is really bad tonight. I can hardly do anything without getting shaky and sick. It feels like when you have the flu and you're so sick you can barely do anything.
gave me 10 day 2 dosage of doxycycline just in case. Swab test for chlamydia was positive and I finished remainder of antiobiotics. Since then I have still felt a mild discomfort (especially after prolonged sitting). I went back in Mid Oct to get HIV test & swab test again. Negative result for chlamydia,HIV, and the dr. even examined my clear fluid under microscope for trich. Dr. gave me 1 dosage of antiobiotic (methadizole however you spell it) just in case for trich infection.
t yet developed the infection, as would be indicated by the presence of a lesion or a positive blood test, than it takes for curative treatment. The augmentin taken twice daily for two weeks would certainly cure and prevent development of syphilis. The combination of cefixime and azithromycin would most probably prevent infection but it would not be curative if the infection was established.
t work, and they informed me I just needed to take a stronger dose, but after feeling worse from taking them in the first place I am worried this may not just be a sinus infection, as our university health services are notoriously shoddy. I have never struggled this much with a sinus infection before and my neck and back pain is intense and is making it hard to go through the day, along with the sinus issues.
In looking on my own some sites stated it could be mono, or even meningitis.

A few days later I started feeling tingling sensations towards the tip of my penis. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with chlamydia and tested negative for gonorrhea, syphilis, and HIV, I was prescribed the 1000mg dose of zithromax, I took the pills and ate two hours after I took the pill (the directions said take 1 hour prior to eating).
