I would not try to make this decision on your own. The Z pak is a different class of antibiotic altogether as it is Zithromax and the pack is just how it is packaged to give a complete course of treatment. Talk to your doctor about treatment alternatives for your UTI.

Hi, i was diagnosed with chlamydia today in my local STD clinic, the doctor gave me 4 250mg Zithromax tablets to take which i did as instructed. A little later without thinking about it i drank one pint of beer. Genuine mistake. i was just wondering will the dose of Zithromax i took work now?

I was with someone exposed to both. I am taking one dose of 1.5g of zithromax to stop or cure myself from catcing of having either one. Will this work and or do the job?

About a week ago I had alot of uncomfort and when going to the bathroom, had bright blood and later in the night it turned to dark blood throughout the next day. When cultured I was possitive for E.C. and my RBC and WBC were elevated.My doctor put me on Sulfa. I am at the front of the line for this one. I was having chronic uti's and eventually I had one that went rogue and ascended into my kidneys, and I landed in the hospital with sepsis. My problems are most probably associated with doing intermittent catherization to keep my bladder empty, that procedure is not sterile and I am constantly introducing new germs..

So about two weeks later it started to hurt when I would use the restroom and so I went back to the doctors and they said it was just a UTI and I'm about half way done with my antibiotics and I still feel weird! Is it possible that I still have gonorrhea? Or could it be something else? And why is it still hurting when I pee?

I have a question about the PREVENTION of UTI's in male cats, what is the best diet...I know it has to be low in one ingredient but I can't remember which? Neither of my cats will eat the Vet formulas of Science Diet or Medical what are other suggestion for a good diet to prevent crystals forming.

I was recently diagnosed with arthritis, along with other health conditions, in the back and sacral joints. The symptoms of arthritis have been going on for quite some time along with frequent UTI's - both seemed to start around the same time. What I'm wondering, does the arthritis in the sacral area play a role in the frequent UTI's and symptoms? Is there a correlation between the two?

Hey thanks for your help. But it ain't that easy to just get up n get a blood test where i live. I will try to get a probiotic. UTI's are really annoying and I've been going to the doctor for antibiotics for a good while and nobody told me that it also kills your good bacteria. They only told me when they checked in the computer and saw that i always came back to fill the same prescription over and over.

Make sure to take the whole course of antibiotics. If you still have any urination abnormalities, I'd go back to your doctor to test your urine again to make sure all the bacteria is gone. UTI's stink. How many days are you to take the medicine? If masturbating causes an issue, maybe just wait until you are all done with the meds and uti? It can't be that long. Masturbating actually can lead to UTI's if your hands accidentally get e coli on them. Keep that in mind.

i was treated for chlamydia a week ago, give zithromax, still waiting for the test. but 3 days later my right testicle was sore, a week later i was getting clear sticky penile discharge after urination, but more so after a bowel movement. there is not a lot, and it looks like precum i'm worried the zithromax didn't work and i still have something. can i take pills too soon after sex? i took them the day after intercourse do yu think it could be a prostate problem?

I initially received a shot and pills for suspected gonorrhea, the results came back and all tests were negative except for a UTI. I was given initially ,zithromax, doxycycline and flagyl , took all those. Still with a discharge and given a second dose of zithromax. I still have a little discharge thats more prominent in the mornings. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

First of all, are your UTI's documented (culture proven)? Not all symptoms of a UTI are truly UTI's. Are the follow-up urine cultures (two weeks after you finish the antibiotics) sterile or are there still bacteria in significant numbers present? How long have you been getting UTI's, since childhood? Only since you are sexually active? Is there a relationship between your sexual activity and these UTI's?

HHH, I dated a guy back from October-December and we had sex about 5 times. I know it is not healthy to do this but I recently became paranoid and took 1g of Zithromax today just in case of a STD. I was tested before this guy and was clean. I am unable to get a STD test due to facilities closing pretty early and will get one in a couple months but do you think the 1g would have cured gonnoreha, chlamydia, and syphilis if I did have it?

HI, I would like to know please if like a day or two following 1,5g single dose of zithromax can someone develop an itchy skin rash for 6 days with red spots on the torso and few pimples on the arms and legs, nothing on the face or neck.
