So right now I am currently taking ziprasidone 80 mg, chantix 1mg, topamax 50mg 3x day, and ropinirole for side effects 1 mg once a day. I can't believe I actually made it through the night last night. I had some psychosis and was up all night long, but laying and I had the shakes at first but I'm actually proud I made it through the night without popping that pill. Took my medicine this morning and slept for about 5 hours and no psychosis, hallucinations or anything.

(have been on said meds for about 5 years). her 2 suggestions are abilify and ziprasidone--i know nothing about either of these meds and would greatly appreciate any info. and input you may have. d have to speak to your psychiatrist to find out if the anxiety is just something untreated or a minor side effect of the Geodon and if it will go away in time. Think about when the anxiety started to get worse and speak to them about all this.

Hi all. I am currently taking ziprasidone along with lamictil and topamax and Lexapro as well as an occasional Ativan. I have been taking 80mg ziprasidone-geodon- twice a day for almost three years now. It has made me gain almost 200 pounds! I need to get off of it but Everytime I do I start the withdrawal. Has anybody else been on geodon this long and gained so much weight? I even exercise and can't get it off.

Unfortunately, you might just have to request a med change it this is indeed the culprit. Maybe explain your side effects/ symptoms to your doctor and request a drug that is second best when it comes to avoiding weight gain, or even an alternative if you're using the AP as a mood stabilizer? Cool , that's great new's them finding the right dose for you , sometime's that's all it take's instead of switching from med to med . Are you sleeping better now ? . As for Risperdal quiet a few people have problem's with weight gain from that drug i did also , but i found it more effective in smaller dose than higher because i got other side effect's at a higher dose simmilar to the Ziprasidone.

I am on abilify and it took me a good 4 weeks to feel all of the effects. It doesn't make me manic, it actually calms that aspect down. If I get manic at all, it's hypomanic and a good one at that, so I don't complain. ;) You could be one of those people that have the opposite effect, but I'd give it some time unless it gets too severe.

About a month ago I was able to lower my self off of paliperidone and onto ziprasidone which is the same category of drug as paliperidone but studies have shown that out of all antipsychotics ziprasidone had the least amount of weight gain. So I’ve been on ziprasidone for about a month now and I’m still losing weight while walking. Sometimes after my walks I only accumulate around 100 calories a day. On days that I splurge a bit and take in around 800 calories a day, I gain weight though.

A friend of mind took 1200 mg of ziprasidone should I be worried? I don't think it is correct. Please let me know, I have been looking but can't find anything on that amount. She needs help, she is not in a good place right now.

Many AD's have side effects that affect the libido, guess it applies to both sex es. As far as I know all AD's have this drastic effect . Hopefully you'll find one that's OK for you . Good luck.

Hi. I am on week 60/72, second round of treatment. I was really really sick after shot for first few months and then this resolved and became tolerable at least. I now find that I am having these same significant side effects later in tx. This didn't happen last round, but I went 48 then. Anyone else have this happen?

i had similar side effects when coming off the depo shot. I thought i was pregnant and took 3 tests. they went away but it took about 6mo. My docs checked my hormones and pituitary gland and they we all fine. It's probably not the effexor but ck w/ your doc anyway.

I just googled Avastin side effects are there are many sites that have lots of info on there. Also, you could google the manufacturer or ask your oncology center for some fact sheets.... Just a thought.
