ziprasidone in pregnancy

Hi all. I am currently taking ziprasidone along with lamictil and topamax and Lexapro as well as an occasional Ativan. I have been taking 80mg ziprasidone-geodon- twice a day for almost three years now. It has made me gain almost 200 pounds! I need to get off of it but Everytime I do I start the withdrawal. Has anybody else been on geodon this long and gained so much weight? I even exercise and can't get it off.

(have been on said meds for about 5 years). her 2 suggestions are abilify and ziprasidone--i know nothing about either of these meds and would greatly appreciate any info. and input you may have. (i have until friday to research these meds and want to be as informed as possible) thank you very much in advance for your time.

It also slightly increases the QTc interval in some patients and increases the risk of a potentially lethal type of heart arrythmia known as torsades de pointes. Ziprasidone should be used cautiously in patients taking other medications likely to interact with ziprasidone or increase the QTc interval.

Hi. I'm bipolar with psychosis and am currently tapering off of ziprasidone 80mg twice daily. I totally dropped my second dose along with lamotrigine,and Lexapro. So right now I am currently taking ziprasidone 80 mg, chantix 1mg, topamax 50mg 3x day, and ropinirole for side effects 1 mg once a day. I can't believe I actually made it through the night last night.

She has experimented in cutting in the past, but yesterday she did it to the extreme resulting in numerous cuts to her arm. Is taking these four medications together a detriment to her mind set? Please help.

also is it normal to feel fear of taking your meds while in a mixed state.

A friend of mind took 1200 mg of ziprasidone should I be worried? I don't think it is correct. Please let me know, I have been looking but can't find anything on that amount. She needs help, she is not in a good place right now.

s interesting that you mention this because it was never connected in my case. I had a lot of problems sleeping but related it to my new job. They've cut my dose down and now I'm not having so many problems. I did a lot better when I was on risperdal but it made me put on weight.

I have just started ziprasidone and I was wondering if anyone else has been taking this medication and how well has it worked? How long was it before you noticed a change?

Besides Clonazepan, Solof, Lorazepan, Divalproex, Citalopran, Donepezil,Divalproex, Enalapril, Carb/Levo tab she started taking Ziprasidone four weeks ago.Please tell me if she should stop taking some of those medications.

For the past couple years I have been on paliperidone which is generic for invega which I know can cause extreme weight gain. Couple that with my increasingly poor eating habits, I definitely ballooned in weight. For about the past two months I have gone on a heavy calorie restriction that I know is deemed to be unsafe and unhealthy. Does anyone get a funny feeling in there head sometimes that feels like when you get the chills. I think its either from the xanax for maybe anxiety or panic trying to come thru. It does not happen often. My friend said she takes zoloft and gets its sometimes too. It bothers me because I don't know if its normal from the xanax or from feeling chilled sometimes.

It may be my wishdom teeth comeing in. I ask a friend if they had any kind of pain pills for it. They gave me Depakote Er divalproex sodium 500mg and also Geodon ziprasidone HC 40mg for the pain they told me it would help me out for the pain I was going throw. ve heard from some people within my therapy group that bi polar 2 cycle more often and have more depression than mania/ hypomania which can be a big risk factor for suicide as a group member died a couple weeks ago . And this one lady spent 3 weeks in hospital with manic psychosis and she is bi polar 1 but she now has been stable for over a year .

Any medication can sometimes take a week or two or longer to take full effect while some will take effect instantaneously. It all depends on the person of course. When I took Geodon I sometimes would "drool and stumble" figuratively for the former (felt really dumb some days) and literally for the latter (dragged my feet and sometimes felt drunk).

Most pharmacists also are so busy that they only have time to verify the meds in the bottle against what is in it and read the possible side effects if needed by a patron.
