i read on the geodon thats got me all messed up..he prescribed me a lager dose then i would have thought..60 mgs anight for 2 weeks then 120 mgs the same..tell me about the heart abnormalities from this geodon that a possible effect of arrhythmias..this can be fatel....when i took serquil 2 yrs had to stop it for tachycardia....so yes im suppose to be taking this tuseday night.came here to get some facts..or someone to explain these effects to me.. I CANT WAITE ANY LONGER..
Hi. I'm bipolar with psychosis and am currently tapering off of ziprasidone 80mg twice daily. I totally dropped my second dose along with lamotrigine,and Lexapro. So right now I am currently taking ziprasidone 80 mg, chantix 1mg, topamax 50mg 3x day, and ropinirole for side effects 1 mg once a day. I can't believe I actually made it through the night last night.
Cool , that's great new's them finding the right dose for you , sometime's that's all it take's instead of switching from med to med . Are you sleeping better now ? . As for Risperdal quiet a few people have problem's with weight gain from that drug i did also , but i found it more effective in smaller dose than higher because i got other side effect's at a higher dose simmilar to the Ziprasidone.
Hi all. I am currently taking ziprasidone along with lamictil and topamax and Lexapro as well as an occasional Ativan. I have been taking 80mg ziprasidone-geodon- twice a day for almost three years now. It has made me gain almost 200 pounds! I need to get off of it but Everytime I do I start the withdrawal. Has anybody else been on geodon this long and gained so much weight? I even exercise and can't get it off.
(have been on said meds for about 5 years). her 2 suggestions are abilify and ziprasidone--i know nothing about either of these meds and would greatly appreciate any info. and input you may have. (i have until friday to research these meds and want to be as informed as possible) thank you very much in advance for your time.
She is currently taking Cymbalta, Lamotrigine, Seroquel and Ziprasidone. She has been depressed for a few years but it suddenly got worse since she started to take ziprasidone. She has been taking it for about 2 weeks now. She informed us that she is hearing voices telling her to harm herself. She has experimented in cutting in the past, but yesterday she did it to the extreme resulting in numerous cuts to her arm. Is taking these four medications together a detriment to her mind set?

Any medication can sometimes take a week or two or longer to take full effect while some will take effect instantaneously. It all depends on the person of course. When I took Geodon I sometimes would "drool and stumble" figuratively for the former (felt really dumb some days) and literally for the latter (dragged my feet and sometimes felt drunk).
A friend of mind took 1200 mg of ziprasidone should I be worried? I don't think it is correct. Please let me know, I have been looking but can't find anything on that amount. She needs help, she is not in a good place right now.
Besides Clonazepan, Solof, Lorazepan, Divalproex, Citalopran, Donepezil,Divalproex, Enalapril, Carb/Levo tab she started taking Ziprasidone four weeks ago.Please tell me if she should stop taking some of those medications.
About a month ago I was able to lower my self off of paliperidone and onto ziprasidone which is the same category of drug as paliperidone but studies have shown that out of all antipsychotics ziprasidone had the least amount of weight gain. So I’ve been on ziprasidone for about a month now and I’m still losing weight while walking. Sometimes after my walks I only accumulate around 100 calories a day. On days that I splurge a bit and take in around 800 calories a day, I gain weight though.
They gave me Depakote Er divalproex sodium 500mg and also Geodon ziprasidone HC 40mg for the pain they told me it would help me out for the pain I was going throw. I started looking the pills up on the internet and found out they where used for people with Bipolar issue.
ive had this occasionly over the last two years. im fine now and i think its just anxiety but get i checked out just to put your mind at ease. hope this helped.
I didn't notice any weight gain but again, everyone is different.and it isn't really know for that like ziprasidone(Zyprexa) is.
My dose got upto 150 and I made a snap decision to quit drugs and instead of increasing my dose I started to lower it. Im now on 95mg and yawning alot and watery eyes and feeling down. People around me say 5mg a week is too fast. But I see people here decreasing more. IS DROPPING 5mg A WEEK TOO FAST? I believe I should be suffering somewhat.
Im hungry all the time half the time idk what I want so I don't eat much bucz sometimes jus thinking bout food makes me sick any one else like this ?
I've noticed 3 days taking just 40 mg. per day of Ziprasidone (Zeldox) that my vision is very blurry (my eyes are bad at the best of times - wear special contacts & glasses) so this is very bothersome. It's listed on another site as a Common side effect, not an uncommon one....but I can't seem to see if it eventually goes away?? Would appreciate any comments ASAP before I see my doctor soon.
Yeah just wait it's going to come im on day 14 and not to be the bearer of bad news but it's hell I even was in a detox for 11 day came home feeling okay then wham been in bed for a week.
I just want to ask opinions of whether I should try to bring my dose down to somewhere in the realm of reality before trying to detox. I may be the first casualty of detox coming down from such a high dose. The trouble is...my doctor is willing to just write more prescriptions with no hope of ever quiting or dealing with the pain I have in a different way. Surgery is not an option anymore, and I am hoping that some miracle herb will come along, but I doubt that.
