ziprasidone and prolactin

Hi all. I am currently taking ziprasidone along with lamictil and topamax and Lexapro as well as an occasional Ativan. I have been taking 80mg ziprasidone-geodon- twice a day for almost three years now. It has made me gain almost 200 pounds! I need to get off of it but Everytime I do I start the withdrawal. Has anybody else been on geodon this long and gained so much weight? I even exercise and can't get it off.

(have been on said meds for about 5 years). her 2 suggestions are abilify and ziprasidone--i know nothing about either of these meds and would greatly appreciate any info. and input you may have. (i have until friday to research these meds and want to be as informed as possible) thank you very much in advance for your time.

I'm currently taking zopiclone for sleep been taking them for ten days. Can I just stop taking these? I've been diagnosed with depression and anxiety I'm also currently taking propranolol and fluoxetine.

Hi. I'm bipolar with psychosis and am currently tapering off of ziprasidone 80mg twice daily. I totally dropped my second dose along with lamotrigine,and Lexapro. So right now I am currently taking ziprasidone 80 mg, chantix 1mg, topamax 50mg 3x day, and ropinirole for side effects 1 mg once a day. I can't believe I actually made it through the night last night.

She is currently taking Cymbalta, Lamotrigine, Seroquel and Ziprasidone. She has been depressed for a few years but it suddenly got worse since she started to take ziprasidone. She has been taking it for about 2 weeks now. She informed us that she is hearing voices telling her to harm herself. She has experimented in cutting in the past, but yesterday she did it to the extreme resulting in numerous cuts to her arm. Is taking these four medications together a detriment to her mind set?

how is this i am taking 20 and feel anioux(sp) all day long still. He wants to move me up to 40. does this anxiety stop any time soon. i take litmical(sp) to 200mg.

I take 20 mg of Geodone and Fluoxetine for depression. I forgot to take it one night and didn't sleep at all and later in the day, I began freaking out about my hands. It made no sense, but it brought me to tears because I thought something was wrong with my hands. I started bawling and couldn't stop, I was completely terrified. Hello ,I have detected with high level of prolactin 48.2 ng/ml and very slight enlargement in ovaries due to polysycsts.I still have regualr menstrual cycle and dont have any physical sign of high level of prolactin like liquid discharge from breast etc.I am very very stressful for a year so is it stress causing high prolactin?? may i still have the chances to get pregnant before treating these health problem??

A friend of mind took 1200 mg of ziprasidone should I be worried? I don't think it is correct. Please let me know, I have been looking but can't find anything on that amount. She needs help, she is not in a good place right now.

Any medication can sometimes take a week or two or longer to take full effect while some will take effect instantaneously. It all depends on the person of course. When I took Geodon I sometimes would "drool and stumble" figuratively for the former (felt really dumb some days) and literally for the latter (dragged my feet and sometimes felt drunk).

They perscribed me birth control pills and ordered a series of test like TSH, Free T4 and prolactin. I began the birth control pills and the lactation stopped. I didn't equate that beginning the birth control pill was related to the the halt of lactation until about a year later. They ordered the tests again and prolactin was normal. My endocrinologist however suspected that I needed to be off the pill and take the test again.

All of them came in normal range except for Prolactin and Macro Prolactin with slight elevation 40ng/mL. I am currently on anti-depressant (Celexa and Atarax) so my doctor said it might be the medication that elevate my prolactin. He told me to come back in 4 months to reassess and told me not to worry because Prolactin can be controlled by medication. Is there anything else that I miss? Please let me know.

9, LH 21, and Prolactin 9. The endocrinologist said I am in premature menopause and has sent me to see my ob doctor. I have a lot of dizzy spells with sinus trouble over the last several months. They said that because the prolactin dropped there is no need for an MRI but something is telling me otherwise. There is no history of premature menopause in my family??? Hi I think hormones (imbalance) and prolactin are at the root cause of GM.. I have not taken anti-depressants prior to my developing GM, but I did take sulpha drugs and tI do have an allergy to them, a higher than normal incidence of sulpha drug allergy has been shown in the one study done in the US comparing lifestyle and health backgrounds of GM sufferers. Something initiates an auto-immune response in the breast...and it develops in to GM.

How does high prolactin affect the skin and hair? my skin got saggy, puffy and pale. I am on cabergoline now and wonder if it will help it. Could it have been a decrease in estrogen? My hair seems thinner and "off" Can prolactin also affect allergies? my skin is also blotchy now and my allergies seem crazy.

Besides Clonazepan, Solof, Lorazepan, Divalproex, Citalopran, Donepezil,Divalproex, Enalapril, Carb/Levo tab she started taking Ziprasidone four weeks ago.Please tell me if she should stop taking some of those medications.

Sometimes 3-4 hours a night I sleep. I been taking old sleeping pills off and on with this medicine so I can sleep. I notice sleeping pills causes suicidal thoughts. Have anybody have any sleeping problems with this medicine?

I have high Dhea and High Prolactin but I am still trying to find out the coralization. The doctor tell me the high Dhea leads them to think I could have a tumar in the adrenal glands somewhere either in the adrenals them self or in the overies or in the brain. Could you list your lab ranges for testosterone and prolactin. In general, blood prolactin above 200 ng/ml almost always is diagnostic of a true prolactinoma. High prolacin lowers testosterone. And if your testosterone is also measured in ng/dL that is so low it's ridiculous! Research shows over 95% of euthyroid patients with no thyroid symptoms has a TSH under 2.5mU/L. TSH is of no value with conditions that do not affect the thyroid such as central hypothyroidism and cellular resistance.

, thank gosh)and said my prolactin level was too high. They checked it again later that year and the level was ok for someone who was not preggo. My boobs have never stopped leaking. They leak only enough that you can squeeze a drop of milk out if you are trying to. I was reaading the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility and it dawned on me that this might be our fertility issue. Apparently if prolactin levels are too high it inhibits estrogen making.

Well I think you should also take blood tests for FSH, LH and Testosterone and perhaps repeat prolactin again in a few months time. If you know that you produced sperm at some point in your lifetime, then probably you will be able to produce sperm again once the medication takes full effect and prolactin is stabilized. However, FSH is the best test you can take because then you will know whether your testicles are working or not.
