Zegerid name brand

Common Questions and Answers about Zegerid name brand

prilosec

Avatar n tn Has anyone tried Zegerid? So far I have tried Prevacid, Aciphex, Prilosec,Protonix, and Nexium. Aciphex gave me bad side effects and Nexium made my reflux symptoms worse. Prilosec did absolutely nothing for me. I was successfully treated for H. Pylori in Nov 07. Since then I have been suffering from Water Brash and now heartburn. I don't know where to turn. My GI now wants me to take Zegerid(isn't this med just like Prilosec with sodium?).
168348 tn?1379357075 I've heard the medicine name but not sure what it does and if any better/worse than others out there that are prescription drugs? And, anybody know if FDA approved for what age?
1364792 tn?1278051187 It was first marketed in the US in 1989 by AstraZeneca under the brand names Losec and Prilosec, and is now also available from generic manufacturers under various brand names. AstraZeneca markets omeprazole as Losec, Antra, Gastroloc, Mopral, Omepral, and Prilosec. Omeprazole is marketed as Zegerid by Santarus, Prilosec OTC. The side affects mentioned in the above post can happen after long term use.......
Avatar f tn Then I became sick with bronchitis and needed to take an antibiotic and had to stop taking the Zegerid for about a week. Upon continuing the Zegerid I have had increasing typical acid reflux symptoms, to the point of waking me up at night. So I called my doc and started taking another Zegerid during the day, and taking Gaviscon before bed... this really hasn't helped. I notice that when I sit for a long period I get a build up of gas in my stomach/intestines, resulting in passing gas.
Avatar f tn Are the store brand diapers just as good as the name brand ones like Huggies and pampers? My mom tells me you should by the store brand to save money because they work just as well, but is that true? What do you guys use? I just want to save money but I don't want my baby to have to be soaked in it's poop and pee because I cut corners on diapers. Advice please!
Avatar f tn i have been that i might have gerd and was put on zegerid ro see it if works.is that what you would have done?
Avatar f tn I have had acid reflux for years now and i have been taking meds for it. My doctor told me I need to try to ween myself off of the medicine (zegerid, because nexium and a million other meds dont woork). I tried doing that and I still keep getting heartburn no matter what. I have gotten the endoscopy several times and the doctors just say that the bottom of my esophagus is not tight, which gives me G.E.R.D. I can't deal with this anymore.
Avatar n tn I had a total thyroidectomy 2 mo ago and have not felt right since 4 days of being placed on brand name these signs have started to decrease. If these are related do you know when I will feel completely better?
Avatar m tn It is possible, Thyroid meds are funny, what works well for one does not work well for others, I was on (Generic) Levothyroxine for six months and my labs did not budge, then went to Synthroid (brand Name) and had better sucess, my endo claimed that generics were not as consistant as name brand. Pharmacy said they are the same? So the change may have made a difference, some times the fillers they use can cause issues also.
Avatar n tn m going to save myself $200 and try to trust the generic, or buy the brand name again. Its just nice, a rare luxury for me to have a brand name medication of any kind and its the most important one for me. I trust the original maker very much. And here's my argument on the whole generic thing. Sure the FDA Tested a batch of each clonazepam generic maker's pills, but it has to be understood that not every single pill or batch can be tested.
Avatar f tn I've read all the comments here and today I called a refill in for Brand Name Klonpin...I've been taking the generic for years. I will post back and let you know if I feel a difference.
Avatar n tn I have been treating my GERD for 3 years with Zegerid. For the first 2 years it was my "miracle drug". About a year ago I began having what I called reflux "attacks" again, usually in the middle of the night. They would last anywhere up to 4 hours, during which all I could do was pace the floor and pray for relief. I averaged one attack a month; finally decided to revisit my gastroenterologist.
Avatar f tn So originally i had the name Tailyn && my mom chose the middle name L'orèal && my bf is letting me choose the name. But he told me recently that L'orèal is much cutter && i should switch it. Idk What do you think???
Avatar f tn Off brand and name brand are the same... they have to be. Tums is safe during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Well I told him I thought maybe it was my gallbladder so he sent me for a ultrasound (which came back fine no visabal stones) and in the meantime he gave me Zegerid for the burning. It helped and in three days I was fine so I stopped it. I went back and told him the pain was easing up and that I had stopped the Zegerid so he said ok and if it did come back to take prilosec. Pain did come back so I took it for 12 days and had major reactions to it. So I again stopped.
1746242 tn?1318209702 I get that and to me it feels like a tight, gripping feeling. I don't know if it related to any kind of acid reflux but I do know when I take a Zegerid in the morning it doesn't happen. The confusing thing is I have a pretty bland diet these days so it's not like I am eating super hot & spicy food. And you can be sure nothing high in fat! Zegerid is a proton pump inhibitor so it or any H2 Blocker you have in your medicine cabinet might help.
Avatar m tn Klonpin is the brand name, manufactured by Roche Laboratories. Clonazepam is the generic form.
Avatar f tn can anyone explain the difference between the brand name Lexapro and the generic brand? i was reading your posts. my boyfriend was on the brand name lexapro and switched to the chemical brand in June. since then he has been spriraling downhill, out of control is there that much of a difference in brand name and off brand?
574118 tn?1305135284 I completely agree with you. The generics are not the same as name brand and the fillers or other ingredients in them can change the way they work. I've been advised for years only to get name brands and do so as the cost between the two is negligible for me, a $3 per script difference. Remember, pharmacies make much more profit on the generics than the name brands. My Dr.'s always write the brand name and DAW in the bottom box to be sure I get the brand name.
168348 tn?1379357075 Generics are just a name change only, from high cost brands name medicines to low cost brand name medicines. Just like all other products sold here in the US: Toilet paper, clothing, clothes soaps, and foods, etc., etc., etc. I buy a lot of generic products, which are made by brand name companies, with the same ingredients. Its the advertising of the "Brand Name" products that is where the high cost comes from.
Avatar f tn im sorry if that sounded mean!!
