Has anyone tried Zegerid? So far I have tried Prevacid, Aciphex, Prilosec,Protonix, and Nexium. Aciphex gave me bad side effects and Nexium made my reflux symptoms worse. Prilosec did absolutely nothing for me.
I was successfully treated for H. Pylori in Nov 07. Since then I have been suffering from Water Brash and now heartburn. I don't know where to turn. My GI now wants me to take Zegerid(isn't this med just like Prilosec with sodium?).
My husband has decided on the name Bria out of the 25 names i gave him on a list. Our last name is Phillips and I can't find anything that I like that flows. Phillips is pretty generic but has such a strong L sound that I'm trying to find something that doesn't have the "elle" that sounds right. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Then I became sick with bronchitis and needed to take an antibiotic and had to stop taking the Zegerid for about a week. Upon continuing the Zegerid I have had increasing typical acid reflux symptoms, to the point of waking me up at night. So I called my doc and started taking another Zegerid during the day, and taking Gaviscon before bed... this really hasn't helped. I notice that when I sit for a long period I get a build up of gas in my stomach/intestines, resulting in passing gas.
i have been that i might have gerd and was put on zegerid ro see it if works.is that what you would have done?
I have had acid reflux for years now and i have been taking meds for it. My doctor told me I need to try to ween myself off of the medicine (zegerid, because nexium and a million other meds dont woork). I tried doing that and I still keep getting heartburn no matter what. I have gotten the endoscopy several times and the doctors just say that the bottom of my esophagus is not tight, which gives me G.E.R.D. I can't deal with this anymore.
Can I boil the nipples on my baby's bottles? I have Phillips Avent bottles. FTM. Don't have a sterilizer but directions say to boil Product. Does that include the plastic nipples or will they warp?
I have been treating my GERD for 3 years with Zegerid. For the first 2 years it was my "miracle drug". About a year ago I began having what I called reflux "attacks" again, usually in the middle of the night. They would last anywhere up to 4 hours, during which all I could do was pace the floor and pray for relief. I averaged one attack a month; finally decided to revisit my gastroenterologist.
I have 2 male dogs. Rick is a 6 year old Boston Terrier. Jeff is a 3 year old Bull-mastiff. They have been together since 2009. Over the last month or so, Rick has begun humping Jeff's head on a daily basis. In addition to the humping, Rick will lick Jeff's privates until Jeff gets a "pinkie", and at least once until Jeff "finished", for lack of a better word. We only know about the finishing part because my wife caught them just after it was done yesterday.
Well I told him I thought maybe it was my gallbladder so he sent me for a ultrasound (which came back fine no visabal stones) and in the meantime he gave me Zegerid for the burning. It helped and in three days I was fine so I stopped it. I went back and told him the pain was easing up and that I had stopped the Zegerid so he said ok and if it did come back to take prilosec. Pain did come back so I took it for 12 days and had major reactions to it. So I again stopped.

I wish you well with your Monday appt. It's really the absolute best to withdraw with medical support. You can do it ! Stay in touch here more often because it will help you!!

I saw a GI specialist who switched me off Nexium and put me on Zegerid. Abdominal x-rays and H. Pylori breath tests were negative. Endoscopy showed irritation, but no major damage. There was also a small amount of bile in my stomach. Biopsies were negative and no sign of ulcers. Blood tests were normal.
Initially I had a rough start with the Zegerid where I couldn't even eat.
H-Pylori is a nasty bacteria. I had an upper GI done earlier this year and they took several biopsies, found out I had it! Know this, it DOES cause cancer! They put you on a triple antibiotic therapy...14 pills a day for 10 days...ugggh! I still have major stomach probs and had another upper GI about 2 mths ago, more biopsies, but thank God the H-Pylori hadn't come back. I'm on Zegerid now after trying many different drugs. Most times it does help with the major acid/nausea.
i had the same symtoms and i star with zegerid 40mg ones a day and sulcrafate 1 gm four times a day and i list the burning sensation it almost gone i know how you feel.
