Zegerid infant reflux

Common Questions and Answers about Zegerid infant reflux

prilosec

Avatar n tn Has anyone tried Zegerid? So far I have tried Prevacid, Aciphex, Prilosec,Protonix, and Nexium. Aciphex gave me bad side effects and Nexium made my reflux symptoms worse. Prilosec did absolutely nothing for me. I was successfully treated for H. Pylori in Nov 07. Since then I have been suffering from Water Brash and now heartburn. I don't know where to turn. My GI now wants me to take Zegerid(isn't this med just like Prilosec with sodium?).
Avatar f tn Hi- I have taken Zegerid and found it to be the best of GERD/acid-reflux med's. They all do take some time, but for me it's the best by a good margin, with Kapidex/Prevacid second. My insurance co. doesn't cover Zegerid as well as they cover Prevacid, but my doctor calls it the "Rolls Royce" of stomach meds.
Avatar f tn Then I became sick with bronchitis and needed to take an antibiotic and had to stop taking the Zegerid for about a week. Upon continuing the Zegerid I have had increasing typical acid reflux symptoms, to the point of waking me up at night. So I called my doc and started taking another Zegerid during the day, and taking Gaviscon before bed... this really hasn't helped. I notice that when I sit for a long period I get a build up of gas in my stomach/intestines, resulting in passing gas.
Avatar m tn How do we prevent acid reflux which occur maybe once Or twice a month especially after eating the wroong food .
Avatar f tn I am way too young to have this problem. I have had acid reflux for years now and i have been taking meds for it. My doctor told me I need to try to ween myself off of the medicine (zegerid, because nexium and a million other meds dont woork). I tried doing that and I still keep getting heartburn no matter what. I have gotten the endoscopy several times and the doctors just say that the bottom of my esophagus is not tight, which gives me G.E.R.D. I can't deal with this anymore.
1746242 tn?1318209702 t close well, food, liquid, and stomach acid can leak back into the esophagus. This is called reflux or gastroesophageal reflux. Reflux may cause symptoms, or it can even damage the esophagus.
Avatar n tn I saw my primary in November for heart burn and acid reflux symptoms. I was given samples of Nexium to try for two weeks. At the end of the trial, I did not notice any improvement. I also had developed new problems of bloating, especially just to the left of my "six-pack". When I sat down, it felt like something was being crushed or pinched in my abdomen also had pain under my solar plexus and across my abdomen just under my rib cage.
Avatar f tn He then did the upperendocopy with biopsy just to check for ulcers and all was fine and I was diagnosed with reflux. I told him I did not think reflux becusae at this point the acid pain had stopped again and I was expieriencing pain other than that of burning and it was in my back and under my rib cage right side. I asked if reflux is felt in the back and he said well maybe. Nice answer.....
1364792 tn?1278051187 Omeprazole (INN) (pronounced /oʊˈmɛprəzoʊl/) is a proton pump inhibitor used in the treatment of dyspepsia, peptic ulcer disease (PUD), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GORD/GERD), laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It was first marketed in the US in 1989 by AstraZeneca under the brand names Losec and Prilosec, and is now also available from generic manufacturers under various brand names.
447553 tn?1205288774 I just wanted to throw in there.. that my daughter also had acid reflux when she was an infant. She also had a problem call...forgive my spelling... Laryngomalaysia. A condition where the flap in the esophagus doesnt allow things to go down "the right tube". She was choking alot, projectile vomiting, rattled breathing ( from liquid in her lungs) If i hadnt taken her to the ER when I did she could have gotten very sick very quickly.
Avatar f tn Because of my acid reflux problem( coughing on and off ) my family dr has prescribed me Nexium ( PPI Therapy). My nurse said its O.K to use it during the Tx. But I want to hear from the fellow members that whether this medication is safe and does not interfere the effectiveness of Pegasys. Hopefully some members will advice me on this issue.
Avatar n tn I have been treating my GERD for 3 years with Zegerid. For the first 2 years it was my "miracle drug". About a year ago I began having what I called reflux "attacks" again, usually in the middle of the night. They would last anywhere up to 4 hours, during which all I could do was pace the floor and pray for relief. I averaged one attack a month; finally decided to revisit my gastroenterologist.
394931 tn?1208115595 i took nexium and then zegerid. they helped me for acid reflux but i just had the nissen surgery 2 weeks ago so i dont take anything anymore...good luck..
Avatar m tn what are the best over the counter drugs for Acid reflux? Also what is the best way to treat it?
Avatar n tn What can be done for a preemie infant with reflux and raspy breathing ?
290867 tn?1333569278 Also keep in mind that even some Ped GIs are very primitive in their reflux treatments. I know it seems ironic because that should be their areas of specialty...but it's amazing how far behind many docs are on the current research with GERD and MSPI. Have you checked out all of the information on marci-kids.com? I would read read read and go to that appointment armed with knowledge so you can fight for Julian! HUGS TO YOU SWEETIE!
Avatar f tn I've been having issues for months. I'm a 37 year old female who was in generally good health until about 7 months ago. I ended up in the ER because I was having heart palpitations. The ER couldn't find anything wrong, and after 2 different cardiologists, two holter monitors, many EKGs and an Echocardiogram, it was determined that I have "harmless" skipped beats (PVCs or PACs).
Avatar m tn It was determined I have GERD but I have no acid reflux symptoms other than occasional indigestion/gas. I have no heartburn or reflux type symptoms and my EDG showed only 1 small erosion. I've been on PPI's like pantoprazole, omeprazole, lanoprazole, all because of this "lump sensation" that developed years ago. On the PPI's it became semi-manageable but looking back this was the only reason that lead the doctors I was seeing to believe its GERD.
Avatar n tn 5 month old son has numerous little problems, when he was born everything seemed fine, after a few months it was found that he had right tortacullus( he gets physio) stridor due to laryngomalacia, severe reflux( he is on prevacid due to numerous choking episodes and low weight) He also is on his 3rd ekg since the left ventricle reading is always high.
Avatar f tn The Doctor told me that he found a lot of Bile and some acid reflux , he gave me omeprazol (Zegerid) 40 mg. He said I should take it half hour before breakfast. He said I dont have anything serious and see him in two weeks. I am so tired of this ****!!!! nobody can find a solution! He said that I may have a slow stomach never explain what is that neither how to fix it nothing!! It seems that never finishes.
913937 tn?1243013191 I have had 3 gastric emptying tests, 2 endoscopies and recently have been put on medication. Zegerid for GERD is a miracle drug for me for acid reflux. However, it doesn't do anything for the vomitting. I have tried reglan, erythromyacin, and just received a RX for Domperidon yesterday. Because the reglan didn't work, I am not too thrilled about the possibility of the domperidon working. I have lost 21 pounds in the last 9 weeks and I am at my wits end.

Avatar f tn s syndrome is not to be confused with the regular type of back arching that is common in babies with reflux and GERD. It is quite common for babies with reflux to arch their necks and backs in a backward position but this type of back arching is quite different than true Sandifer's syndrome as it doesn't include the above mentioned postures as well. WHAT CAUSES SANDIFER'S SYNDROME?
Avatar m tn Sometimes it sloshes around, sometimes it feels like if i burp it will come right back up, but i cant burp, i feel the air, but nothing comes up. I have ibs-c and gerd with gastritis. Im on Zegerid in the am and zantac in the pm. I started a new plan about the ibc-c and im going every other day. It just feels like the tube where it hits my stomach is cold/chilled.
