Zegerid globus

Common Questions and Answers about Zegerid globus

prilosec

Avatar n tn Has anyone tried Zegerid? So far I have tried Prevacid, Aciphex, Prilosec,Protonix, and Nexium. Aciphex gave me bad side effects and Nexium made my reflux symptoms worse. Prilosec did absolutely nothing for me. I was successfully treated for H. Pylori in Nov 07. Since then I have been suffering from Water Brash and now heartburn. I don't know where to turn. My GI now wants me to take Zegerid(isn't this med just like Prilosec with sodium?).
Avatar f tn Then I became sick with bronchitis and needed to take an antibiotic and had to stop taking the Zegerid for about a week. Upon continuing the Zegerid I have had increasing typical acid reflux symptoms, to the point of waking me up at night. So I called my doc and started taking another Zegerid during the day, and taking Gaviscon before bed... this really hasn't helped. I notice that when I sit for a long period I get a build up of gas in my stomach/intestines, resulting in passing gas.
Avatar n tn Is Gerd related to Globus Pharyngeus ? I have been diagnosed by endoscopy and have been confirmed that I have Gerd. I have now, I think recovered from that, but just recently, a month ago, I started to have a lump in the throat feeling. I woke up every morning having a very sour taste in my mouth and I feel that there is an object stuck on my throat. There is a bit of feeling of a heartburn also.
Avatar f tn i have been that i might have gerd and was put on zegerid ro see it if works.is that what you would have done?
Avatar f tn I have had acid reflux for years now and i have been taking meds for it. My doctor told me I need to try to ween myself off of the medicine (zegerid, because nexium and a million other meds dont woork). I tried doing that and I still keep getting heartburn no matter what. I have gotten the endoscopy several times and the doctors just say that the bottom of my esophagus is not tight, which gives me G.E.R.D. I can't deal with this anymore.
Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed as hononimous hemianopia, wrong spelling I think, anyway, the sight in my right eye has about completely gone, the left eye works intermittently, I think I am going blind totally within the next couple of years, I need some help as I am not coping well at all.
Avatar m tn If it is Globus, and not something caused by GERD you could talk to your Doctor about a muscle relaxer or an AS NEEDED xanax. Essentially it's a muscle issue called a "Cricophaygeal spasm" Having it that long, you have some deep seated muscle memory that might be tough to break..See what your Doc says about the medication i mentioned.
1222635 tn?1366396286 globus sensation WITH clicking feeling when swallowing, sternum pain (dull ache that lasts a few seconds, occurs often) heart palpitations (also occur fairly often, sometimes one flutter every few seconds, other times my heart pounds for no reason) anybody know what this could be? i work in a doctor's office, and my boss (head nurse) said it could be mitrol valve prolapse, but im not fatigued, unless i dont get enough sleep. help! should i see a cardiologist?
Avatar f tn I'm a 42 year old guy, dealing with globus sensation for something like six months. The past 3 of them, taking omeprazole. Which is somewhat helping, a little. I guess. My main question is: Is it meaningful for globus to be worst when eating and drinking? Because every description of it I read says "the sensation goes away when eating or drinking, then comes back later." For me it's the opposite.
Avatar n tn I have been treating my GERD for 3 years with Zegerid. For the first 2 years it was my "miracle drug". About a year ago I began having what I called reflux "attacks" again, usually in the middle of the night. They would last anywhere up to 4 hours, during which all I could do was pace the floor and pray for relief. I averaged one attack a month; finally decided to revisit my gastroenterologist.
Avatar n tn One of the causes of globus is GERD. Since you had heartburn also, the most likely cause of globus in you is GERD. Take PPI like Prilosec for 4-8 weeks for relief.
Avatar f tn I was a pack a day smoker for about 10 years. When I quit and was healed up from the teeth I started having a globus sensation in my throat constantly making take deep breaths. Then this week 5/13/19 I started to feel a vibration on the left side of my throat when I took the deep breath. On 5/16/19 I noticed a growth / lump about the size of a q tip sticking out of my glossopalatine arch. I have no ear pain, swollen lymph nodes, trouble breathing or swallowing.
Avatar n tn http://homepage.mac.com/changcy/globus.htm. Another term I've seen is "Cervical Dysphagia" NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH DYSPLASIA!!! There is also an excellent site at: http://www.nature.com/gimo/contents/pt1/full/gimo19.html. From what I can gather, these conditions can be related to the upper digestive tract and/or indicative of neurological issues. When related to digestion, it can accompany GERD, so maybe that's an easier starting point.
Avatar n tn I read an interesting case online where a 15-year-old male was told by their doctor that they may have "Subtle Bilateral calcification on the globus palidus". Symptoms are mainly occasional muscle spasms and high stress. This has been going on for approximately a year. MRI and CT scans have been conducted, as well as a neurologist consultation, but all appear to have no serious issues. Is there room for concern? All responses are appreciated.
Avatar f tn Two years ago I felt the sensation in my throat for the first time. I would soon realize the medical term of my sensation “Globus Pharyngis” or the feeling of having a lump or something stuck in the throat. This issue has caused everything from severe panic attacks to not wanting to go hiking/camping which are some of my favorite hobbies. For two years, I’ve been living life as some one other than myself.
Avatar f tn How do I get rid of the anxiety lump in throat called globus hystericus? Will it ever go away?
Avatar f tn How do I get rid of globus hystericus brought on by anxiety/ panic attacks. I had a thyroid ultrasound. That was fine. No modules. Does this condition go away on it's own? Does it ever go away?
Avatar m tn Anyways with all my symptoms i seem to always get this globus sensation in my throat, thats what bothers me the most. It comes and goes. I really worry its my thyroid because my sister has thyroid issues. But she said she had bad chest pains, always cold and tired 24/7. Nothing that i seem to complain about. What if its a tumor? but i dont think it would feel like its coming and going? Could mucus from my nose be running down the back of my throat causing the globus sensation?
358304 tn?1409709492 26 male. Anxiety sufferer. Just a brief catch up to those who know nothing about my ordeal. About a month ago or more I started suffering from anxiety... I got IBS symptoms from it... then about 2 and a half weeks ago I started getting a tight throat and VERY sensitive gag reflex. I coughed one night in bed and gagged twice! It was terrible. I finally went to the Dr., and he said it was all anxiety related. I've been doing pretty good with the tight throat feeling the past week... or so...
Avatar f tn It is a little sore and hurts to swallow sometimes. I did some googling, and the closest thing that I could find to how I feel is globus hystericus. But for the last month or so I've felt completely exhausted. I keep getting dizzy spells. And at random times I start dozing off (even when im walking). Sometimes I lose my depth perception. It has been worrying me. I know I should go to the doctor but I can't really afford to right now.
Avatar f tn i started on wed night and by Saturday the tightness had eased up but not completly gone i also to naproxin (aleve) which also helped to but i would still worry as to why its not gone yesterday i started feeling as if i have a hair in the back of my throat and the tightness and pulling is starting to relax but i still have that feeling as something is there i went back to the dr who seem not to care at all and said that it will go away and just left I am happy that its starting to ease but i ju
Avatar n tn Went to the ENT, he scoped me and said all looked good, told me about this globus sensation and gave me a nasal spray... Am I worrying about nothing... right away lump and I got cancer... so worried... anyone else experiencing this???
Avatar f tn Well I told him I thought maybe it was my gallbladder so he sent me for a ultrasound (which came back fine no visabal stones) and in the meantime he gave me Zegerid for the burning. It helped and in three days I was fine so I stopped it. I went back and told him the pain was easing up and that I had stopped the Zegerid so he said ok and if it did come back to take prilosec. Pain did come back so I took it for 12 days and had major reactions to it. So I again stopped.
1746242 tn?1318209702 I get that and to me it feels like a tight, gripping feeling. I don't know if it related to any kind of acid reflux but I do know when I take a Zegerid in the morning it doesn't happen. The confusing thing is I have a pretty bland diet these days so it's not like I am eating super hot & spicy food. And you can be sure nothing high in fat! Zegerid is a proton pump inhibitor so it or any H2 Blocker you have in your medicine cabinet might help.
