Doctor diagnosed him with Acid Reflux and put him on Zantac. He has been also having blood in his poop sometimes. Today he had some blood again. I have cut out all the diary products from my diet. He does not have bloody poop all the time, just about 4 times since he was born. He is 3,5 month now and exclusively breastfed. Has any of your babies had this. I am really worried, but doctor did not seem very concerned.

I've had 3 docs prescribe prevacid and prilosec and one who said its bad to have any. I miscarried when I wasnt on anything and the babies I've had are all fine despite the prilosec. Some docs are more cautious. My doc now is a high risk ob/gyn with experience in fetal development issues and he says its fine. Talk to your doc or a different one...its not good to be so miserable you can't eat...for you or baby.

Zantac it is safe my doctors told me to take it tums don't last long and if its bad make sure your tummy isn't on e and eat something

So I've had acid reflux since I was about 8. I've had ulcers in my stomach and esophagus since I was 15. I've gone on bland diets for months at a time and took prilosex and zantac, nothing helped. Then I started smoking Marijuana and it's like I don't even have stomach issues. I'd get the occasional heartburn after certain foods but not horrible. I've been smoking for two years.

I take the Walmart brand of Zantac sometimes twice a day. I took it for the last 3 to 4 months Of my first pregnancy and it never went away and so when I got pregnant again I took it and get bad and the Dr said 2 a day was safe and so here I am baby 3 and taking it and all my babies are fine :-D take a Zantac don't struggle.

My granddaughter is one-month-now weighs 8 pounds - has been diagnosed with Gerd, milk allergy - however, I think it is the case that she has been getting two much formula from day one - she is now on 35 ounces (and being increased) of formula a day - is now on hypoallergenic formula and THREE medications. This is way over the amount of formula recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics - and anywhere else. My daughter has been told to "just stay the course" by her pediatrician.

Zantac is the only heartburn med I am allowed to take in my trial with two experimental drugs. I had to give up my proton inhibitor because it might interfere with absorption of one of the drugs. But even with Zantac I have to be careful to take it 10 hours before and 2 hours after dosing with the study drugs. I find that the only way it will help me is if I do not take it near the time of eating. So I try to take it more than an hour after and at least a half hour before eating.

Zantac stopped most of it i then stopped taking 20 tums a day anfld only needed them maybe once every few days (not at all if i remembered to take my zantac first thing in the morning and at night!

I take Omneprozle, it is a generic drug that is also found in Zantac, Dr said it is safe I would call yours and get him / her to prescribe you something

I have acid reflux and I recently stopped taking Zantac since there was a recall on it. I had two episodes of blood in my spit in the morning after waking up.

I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?

Ok i have kind of a unique question. My 6 month old daughter only weighs 12lbs14oz. She's lost 6 oz in 2 weeks. Shes breastfed but i exclusively pump. She takes 3 oz every 3 hours. I took her to her pedi and she told me she should be eating 6-8oz at a time. I've tried giving her more and she refuses it. Spits it, pushes the bottle out of her mouth, turns her head, and screams til i take it away. We have also tried food and she will take maybe 5-6 bites and refuse it as well.

I also use both.

it was dealing with the correlation between hiccups in the womb and reflux. a lot of women were saying that their reflux babies had hiccups very often in utero. this could be a pattern. ariana definitely hiccuped ALL the time when i was prego (like multiple times a day) and has reflux.. ?

I took Zantac because I had gastritis symptoms. Now I hear that Zantac causes cancer and wished I never went to pills for relief. How long does it take for cancer to appear after you've taken Zantac? I've heard the NDMA in Zantac causes full body cancers in every organ.... This seems like a intentionally made drug to induce cancer.

My little guy is having the same problem. I can't stand to see him in pain. I use Mylicon and it helps a bit. I will look for Colic Calm and see if that helps.

Sir—With the medications you have listed, there are no interactions with Zantac. In regards to indigestion, the recommended dose of Zantac is to start off with a 75 mg tablet about 30-60 minutes before eating food or drinking any beverage that cause heartburn. Zantac will help in preventing heartburn. The maximum amount to take in one day is 300 mg (4 tablets of 75 mg or 2 tablets of 150 mg). You should not use it for more the 14 days or on a regular basis unless consulting with a physician.

If your son is on solids it's very easy to use solutabs or capsules, just disolve solutab in food, or break capsule and pour contents into food.

You can use famotidine for a long time with no consequence, and if this is making you feel better, then stick with it. There is no danger in famotidine; I have taken Zantac 150 twice a day for years. And when I don't take it, I sure wish I had!
