zantac safe for pregnancy

Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.

Does anyone know if you can take Zantac 75 during your first trimester for heartburn? I took it with my first pregnancy, but it was a lot later in the pregnancy. I am dying here, and need a fix.

Yeah its not pleasant at all when you first take it but I'm 39 weeks and having my baby in a couple days so I'm not going to buy any more meds for that! I used to take zantac 150mg and it works wonders if you'd like to try that!

Has anyone ever taken Zantac? My doctor told me to take that everyday instead of taking tums b/c they are pointless, but I kinda don't wanna take medicine.

Tums are also safe, but I am taking Zantac and have most of the pregnancy.

Ask your doctor. Just because it's okay for one person, doesn't mean that it is safe for you. You should never take medication advice from a forum. The people posting are not doctors.

My doc told me Zantac is safe for pregnant women. Iwas doing tums but they only worked but for so long and it says not to exceed 12 in a day. Zantac was a life saver for me.

t imagine drinking that my husband does though he has bad heartburn but most over the counter antacids are safe during pregnancy as long as you use only as directed tums,and zantac are a few if your symptoms are more severe then normal you should take to your doctor about getting a prescription

No160, then if Zantac isn't ok during pregnancy try Prilosec. That's the one the doctor let me take til my last trimester and then because NOTHING else worked he put me on zantac. Also, If dramamine didn't work for you, there are a couple things the doctor can prescribe that can be SAFE to take. I don't remember the names right now, but there are definitely things out there that can help with any issues your facing and still be safe to baby.

My Dr told me to take prepcid because I took tums and they didnt do much for me my acid was actually keeping me up at night it was so bad pepcid is safe for pregnancy and works nicely for me I can finally SLEEP!

Mine was too! I was eating at least 8 tums a day until my doctor suggested at my 28 week check up that I take Prilosec until the end of my pregnancy. I was worried at first because I didn't want to take anything that would harm my baby, but she reassured me that Prilosec & Zantac are safe during pregnancy. Zantac will help fight symptoms after the fact for up to 12 hours & Prilosec will stop symptoms before they start all day.

I was taking papaya pills and they help but after a while they werent strong enough (they worked awesome before I was pregnant and in the 1st half of my pregnancy)... then doctor wrote me a prescription for zantac...

I have been taking prevacid my entire pregnancy. I have ulcers and really bad acid reflux. I called my drs office to make sure it was ok and the nurse saidit was safe. It works wonders for me. I don't get heartburn unless I miss a day. Which I never do because it's so bad. I'm 8 weeks +4 and everything is going fine with baby.

The over the counter ingerdient for zantac. My doc said it was safe to take in pregnancy. But always check with yours too. :) good luck and hope u get some relief!

I take the Walmart brand of Zantac sometimes twice a day. I took it for the last 3 to 4 months Of my first pregnancy and it never went away and so when I got pregnant again I took it and get bad and the Dr said 2 a day was safe and so here I am baby 3 and taking it and all my babies are fine :-D take a Zantac don't struggle.

Talk to your OB about what may be safe to use on your pregnancy. In general, Tums are generally considered safe in pregnancy. Although they may not work for very long periods of time but your OB can recommend a medication that better suits your pregnancy. I had horrible heartburn in my last pregnancy, I would literally choke on pure acid (very gross, I know!) But after I delivered..I had sudden abdominal pain.

I read online that it can be bad for the baby, but I have also read more post about how its safe. Does anyone know if they are good or bad for the baby?

Zantac is great for a 12 hr fix when sypmtoms start, but Prilosec is also safe during pregnancy & prevents symptoms from even starting. My doctor put me on once daily Prilosec in the morning on an empty stomach & I haven't had one bout of heartburn in 5 weeks.Check it out & see if it's something for you.

Milk yogurt an zantac 150 is safe to take while pregnant it works wonders but I only take it if it's really bad other wise I eat a chobani yogurt
