zantac recall

I have acid reflux and I recently stopped taking Zantac since there was a recall on it. I had two episodes of blood in my spit in the morning after waking up.

It's been recalled voluntarily but not really because it 'causes cancer'. Testing is an issue with it to find out the level of NDMA. NDMA is a carcinogen but also found in water and many foods such as meats, dairy products and vegetables. I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?

Has anyone ever taken Zantac? My doctor told me to take that everyday instead of taking tums b/c they are pointless, but I kinda don't wanna take medicine.

Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.

Well, if it isn't resolved with over the counter remedies, such as a liquid anti-acid (GI doctor office claims this is better than chewable anti-acids because it coats), OTC strength acid reducing medication, or peptobismol (or generic), as well as giving your stomach a break from aggravating foods (used to be prescribed a 48-72 hour clear liquid diet when I had gastritis if I recall correctly), it's time to take a trip to the doctor.

I don't recall which side your gall bladder is on but the pain COULD be gall stones, I'd mention it to your doctor if it's on the same side as your GB.

Does anyone know if you can take Zantac 75 during your first trimester for heartburn? I took it with my first pregnancy, but it was a lot later in the pregnancy. I am dying here, and need a fix.

My neck continually feels like I slept on it wrong? Ive been having some esophagus tightness but nothing alarming. Zantac is definitely helping with the GERD symptoms. Im blaming the neck and shoulder pain on GERD too but not Im starting to think it might be more? 3 days ago while shopping, my thumb went numb and I couldn't grasp anything.. I do not recall bumping it or injuring it? My range of motion was limited for about 10 minutes?

Many doctors do require their patients to go off H2 blockers (a specific type of antihistamine. H2 blockers inclue Zantac (ranitidine) and Pepcid. I cannot recall the chemical in Pepcid at the moment. Another questionable med is Elavil (amitriptyline). It is an antidepressant but has some antihistamine qualities. Every doctor is different on these meds. Many don't want to cause issues with going off of these meds.

Or his own production of gastric acids are in excess and with the added acids in those foods, it leads to sweats, like when people eat hot chilli or hot wings. If that's the case then a PPI (proton pump inhibitor) will help reduce the acid by not allowing so much to be produced.

All of my issues really came to me recently, around October 2008. But, I do recall however that I used to get feelings of gastritis up to 2-3 months before that. Well, I'm back from my recall ( defective bladder) and repair job. I'm slowly recovering. Things didn't go completely as planned. I did have some complications. The first problem that my uro-gyn ran into was, that I had a lot of adhesion's (scar tissue) in my abdomen and in other areas that he needed to go. Hi......Zantac is not an antidepressant it's prescribed for heartburn. Is there another medication she's been prescribed that maybe you got confused with the Zantac?

The tightness in my throat makes it feel as if someone has their hand on my throat and occasionally makes me feel like I am not getting enough air when I am having no problems breathing. I am being treated for GERD (Zantac 150mg twice a day) and allergies (NasalCrom four times a day). I also use a neti pot once a day which has basically eliminated my post-nasal drip, and the NasalCrom helps with swelling. I still experience reflux on the Zantac, it just does not hurt.

Go pick up zantac 150 or 75 mg. If 75 mg take 1 pill twice daily and then take tums as needed. Zantac should prevent the heartburn but if it doesnt work on occasion take tums (i normally take 4 extra strength tums or 2 ultra strength at a time) I was prescribed zantac 75 mg twice a day with my first baby and told to take tums if for some reason zantac doesnt help so its perfectly safe!
