Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.
Should I just continue taking nexium, motilium and mucosta? Or should I switch to zantac? Can I still continue taking motilium even with zantac? I'm not really sure if mucosta is necessary in my case but my heartburns have been quite painful at times.
In case I should switch to zantac, can I do it right away? Can I switch to the first prescription right away tomorrow? I would probably be taking motilium still anyway

And I have a sore throat off and on again no reasoning to when. I may have it am or pm or not at all.I may burn once a day am or pm or I may not burn but hurt or I might burn all day long. I was wondering is there a better treatment. I have heard people taking nexium am and zantac pm? I think if I could get the raw spot better I would be fine. I really don't have heartburn except in my throat. My stomach doesn't hurt except at my sternum occastionally. But I am sore a lot.
Not sure about Zante but pepcid and nexium is ok.
4 PPIs: Nexium, Prevacid, Aciphex, Protonix; 2 H2blockers: Zantac and Pepcid; 2 antiacids: Gaviscon and Riopan. I couldn't take any of these more than a few days (from 1 to 13 days) because of their side effects.
The 2 bad side effects I've most often had are:
worsened IBS - bad abdominal cramps (caused by Nexium together with fever and Zantac)
a white-coated and burning tongue (caused by Prevacid, Zantac, Protonix, Pepcid, Riopan).
Did you ever try taking acid reflux meds or GERD meds? this may be a reason for it. Try and let us know.
The last year it has gotten worse where I occasionally wake up with back and throat pain but it is quickly resolved by getting up, moving around and taking tums. I have been to many gastro dr.s, have been on nexium and zantac and am mostly constipated (wondering if I have IBS-C?) For some reason, I am petrified of having pancreatic cancer and worry that the back pain could be this.
I've wondered that too, although I have ventricular arrhythmia (PVCs) instead. I've also wondered if the acid reducers could have caused the irregular beat problem.
I do know that reflux and associated gas/bloating that I get after my evening meal seem to make the heart arrthythmia worse, and that I feel it more then. Also, I've read that PPIs, like Prilosec or Nexium (which I take) have heart arrhythmia listed as a "less common" side effect.
You can take over the counter Zantac before eating.
How often do you eat spicy food? Because if it bugs your stomach, I'd really suggest not eating it often. That can lead to stomach problems.
If the Zantac doesn't help, try seeing a doctor. I take Nexium and Zantac (Ranitdine) and that doesn't always help, but I don't have the greatest stomach.
Thank u red star......I think the Zantac I'm on is making me feel bad as well!!! Heart rate is sometimes a tad low/normal.....somtimes a little fast....but having palpitations and not sure if its the stupid Zantac!! Took it earlier and after an hour I started feeling weak sleepy some light chest pain head pressure.
I can't gain weight but not able to add extra calories yet.....not losing anymore.....trying to maintain.....

However when i stopped before i had horrendous heartburn i was so miserable i was prescribed zantac but that didnt work. I am also prescribed lorezapam 0.5mg but have only been taking a half a day. I know thats VERY BAD TO USE. I dont have any problem with quitting that just have to find ways to calm my anxiety. But my omperazole i am. Has anyone stopped or took omperazole pregnant?
I went to my Dr today and told me to take nexium, is the safest thing right now, and my nurse told me that in Walmart they have a sale, 42 pills for $23.
Not tired but some dizzy doesnt last long. I have GERD. I use to take nexium, then protonix then zantac. Had rnuclear stress test done was positive negative, had chest pain went to er had a cardiac catherization done was clear. I got worried scared took xanax for a few days been off all meds for two weeks now pulse last night 41. I walk around its 54 60s 70s sit down 54 48. I this the meds gave me irregular heart will it go back to normal..?Do i need the pace maker?
I'm on Nexium, 20 mg a day, and have been for 5 years. Within the last six months they diagnosed me with PVCs, 8500 a day on average, when I never had them before. Naturally I'd like to get rid of the scary things.
But how can you just go off Prilosec or Prevacid without getting acid rebound? I'd like to get off it because too little stomach acid can cause anemia, osteoporosis, and B12 deficiency. PPIs have been implicated in all of these.
