Zantac hives

Common Questions and Answers about Zantac hives

zantac

Avatar m tn you are the first. Allegra/Zantac combo can solve this problem? Helped me when I got hives from my first treatment of Interferon/Ribavirin. Check with your doctor.
Avatar m tn Well, I'm still having hives but once I stopped taking Zantac my heartburn actually got better. I got test results yesterday and it shows that I have a gluten intolerance. I went off gluten for 2weeks and my hives got better but once I added it back to my diet the hives didn't get any worse so, I just kept eating normal. Now that I have my test results I will go gluten-free again and see what happens. Also, something new is joint and muscle pain.
Avatar f tn t be able find the true reason for the hives. In the meantime I am still breaking out even with the Allegra, Zantac and the Hydroxyzine I am taking. So with all this said should I have the blood work done, or should I see an Endo or is there a link between the two??? Can you please give me some insight?? I am frustrated.
Avatar m tn I have had chronic hives and hashimoto's for about 14 years. Thyroid is some what stable i have been on the same dose of meds for 6 years now. Hives on the other hand get harder and harder to control. What can I do? If you remove the thyroid will the autoimmune responce stop? Avatar n tn I woke up Friday 4 a.m. with hives over my body, from head to knees. I decided to go to the ER in fear of progression. I was afebrile, may ANC was 320. When discharged from the ER I was given prednisone, diphenhydramine and zantac. Assuming this is an allergy driven event, I would like to know when my immune system stabalizes, does the allergy go away? ;) Thank you ahead of time.
Avatar f tn I am 68 years old. I started with hives when I was seventeen. They lasted about a year. I went two years without them. I have had five outbreaks since then all very bad. I am now on allegra and zantac . I also take cytbalta and anavin for depression. Is their anything else i could try. I have had them for eight months now and it is beginning to infer with me makingplan to go anywhere. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECITE. This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar n tn I have had the same problem. I had never had hives or any sort of allergic reaction to anything before about 8 months ago. I woke up with hives covering my neck, face, back, and torso. Since, then, every single day, without fail, I have broken out in hives. Like yours, they vary in size, severity, when they occur, even sometimes shape. I have been to countless doctors.
Avatar f tn I suffered hives, swellen lips, face, pain, heart racing, shortnessof breath. The hospital kept me over nite for observations. I think they prescribed the wrong doses as well. I was instructed to take 2 Bactrim twice a day & 1 cephelaxin 4 times a day. Been home from the hospital for 4 days now. Just starting to feel some relief, how long will it be before i'm back to myself? The hospital sent me home with benedryl, prednisone, zantac.
Avatar f tn started taking zyrtec, seemed to help a little but starts up again so i also started taking zantac along with the zyrtec. i am still getting some hives and itching but now for about the past 3-4 wks now i'm also getting nausea, please help!
Avatar f tn It has only gotten worse, I have gone under many tests that all come back negative, thyroid, lupis, autoimmune, etc... I am currently taking 1 Zantac 150 mg in the morning and night, 1 allegra in the morning, 2 zyrtec at night, and benedryl every 4 hours. I can not go outside in the day time, I can not workout, I can not eat hot/spicy foods, I can not get heated up or over heated, and I can't even have sex without getting hives. The pain is the worst when I have sex.
Avatar n tn I've been having hives only on my lower part of my legs and lower part of my arms. They are like dry patches with tiny bumps. In a dry climate, I have no issues. When I'm in a humid climate, it gets worse. I've taken Zantac and Claritin, steroids and no luck...
Avatar m tn scary part is that the welts moved to my scrotum...this prompted my first doctor visit. Dr. says probably hives and said to treat with claritin and zantac. Neither did much. 4 days after my first dr visit, I have to go back b/c hives were popping up on my legs, knees, etc. He finally prescribed a medrol dose pack (steroid). This gave me temporary relief (Wednesday-Tuesday, about 5-6 days).
1102308 tn?1257806648 been on methimazole for three weeks and have had uncontrollable itching on my elbows and shins...sometimes hives develop...is there anything i can do to relieve this>? it is horrible at night and i havent been sleeping very much and the itching isnt helping...any suggestions>? is it just the methimazole or the graves or both? please help!!!
Avatar m tn I have read that allergy meds combined with Zantac or Nexium help as well as the thyroid hormone. Read the post here about Hives and Hashimoto's. I am using Vaseline, which works much better than lotion.
Avatar n tn I cant exercise, i cant even go outside in the winter, i break out in hives every single day and every time i do, my throat gets real scratchy, and really gets be scared. On top of that i'm also highly allergic to dust, molds, pollen, dander, and almost every other airborne allergens. So when i dont get hives from CU, i get them from the airborne allergens.
Avatar f tn (at least twice a week on my face) and hives all over, moving around from day to day. Antihistamines do nothing. Zantac may or may not help my swelling and heartburn. Steroids actually seem to make it worse as I come off of them, although the allergist said that is not possible, he is not the one that almost was in the E.R. both times that I had come off a round of Prednisone. If these reactions are due to hormonal imbalances why is there no help for us?
Avatar f tn t found relief, you may be surprised to know that Zantac (a stomach acid med) works wonders as an antihistamine. My hives went away an hr after taking that with Zyrtec. I hope you found some answers since last year...Best of luck.
Avatar f tn I am on 5mg Reglan 2-3 times daily for gastroparesis. Also, Nexium 40mg and zantac 150 mg. Is there any concern of being on any of these drugs long term?
Avatar f tn One month ago ( around the time that I stopped nursing my 10-month-old) I started getting random lip swelling. From there it turned into itchy hives all over my body. I got a lot of blood work done for my allergist and immunologist everything came back normal but my CU index (chronic urticaria) was slightly elevated suggesting it's autoimmune response. He tested for a large variety of autoimmune disorders. The doctor is treating my symptoms with Zantac, Zyrtec, and Singulair.
Avatar n tn I had a titanium hip joint replacement and about 6 or 7 weeks after surgery I started to have itchiness (all over my body) and hives. It started with a slight itch in the late afternoon and became severed after dinner in the early evening. I have seen an allergist and had blood work done and am waiting for the results and a follow up appointment.
Avatar n tn s like Doxepin, Allegra, Zantac, Hydroxyz and a few others i cant think of. the hives start out as little red marks but then get larger and turn to welts. Also sometimes my face will start to get the welts then my face will swell like someone with seafood allergies. sometimes they get so pig they cover my whole leg or arm. Benadryl has stopped working for them and i now don't know what to take to releave some of the itching.
Avatar m tn I have been breaking out with hives on my hands and feet for a couple years now. after family doctor visits, a skin doctor visit and finally an algernist. I now know I am alergic to many things - the worst being dust mites and certain kinds of molds. I have always had algeries to most the rest of the things that I am alergic too. just now in the last two years with the advent in my life of my newest pet dog according to my algernist the dog is the final trigger that got the hives coming on.
Avatar f tn I still have hives, but I am thinking I might be allergic to the Snythroid. I've been playing doctor here, I've tried taking less (still hives) and I tried taking more, either way I still have hives. The only thing is I've been on Snythroid for almost 3 years. I started out slow, and just worked myself up to .50, so I don't know if it could be the meds, if I've been on them this long?
