Zantac for stomach

Common Questions and Answers about Zantac for stomach

zantac

Does anyone know if you can take Zantac 75 during your first trimester for heartburn? I took it with my first pregnancy, but it was a lot later in the pregnancy. I am dying here, and need a fix.
I have liked it because it didn't give me a headache like omeprazole did, or seem to make me kind of dizzy/light headed like it seemed tagamet did. If you feel zantac is not enough for the acid problem, you can take tums or liquid anti-acid, but you need to space it apart- like wait at least a couple hours after taking your zantac to do it. Also, you should let your doctor know if the zantac is not sufficiently treating your symptoms.
Hi to everybody, I am 28 yr old healthy male. I have been given zantac for a suspected hiatas hernia and now I am getting alot of gas and bouts of loose stools ( not bad or really watery )along with mild dull abdominal pains/ache. Has anybody had this with these tablets or should I go back to the doctors, I did mention it to him last time and he said 'could be the tablets' but didn't seem too concerned.
Then I took more Zantac, woke up crampy and nauseous, ate some cereal, now I am lightheaded and my stomach hurts and I need to eat something else but I'm afraid to. Could the Zantac be messing with my digestion and making me feel worse?
I was given a 2 week course of Zantac to be taken morning and evening for two weeks. Immediately after taking them, I felt good and a lot of the troubles I have been having with my mouth(white spots on tongue, sore throat) disappeared. Then, on the fourth day, it all returned with a vengeance. Sore throat, dry cough, white coated tongue, and since then has only gotten worse. I stopped the Zantac after about 12 days and on that day my neck started to ache like crazy.
I am definitely going to talk to my midwife about it and see what she says. For now, I will look for that juice and see if that works at all and try eating smaller meals. I definitely can't eat much these days anyway as everything is being squished up already. I am almost 22 weeks but this is the first pregnancy where my belly is high and the earliest reflux has started.
I have one question abt Zantac. Before going to bed...if can i take zantac,is it helpful to get hours sleep. Please help me....Now i am 9 weeks...next week i want to fly around 7 hrs...i am so worried abt that also....
Well, you can take them when withdrawing but nothing will totally remove the withdrawal symptoms. Immodium is great, though, for the stomach issues. I wish something existed that got rid of the withdrawal symptoms completely! But if it existed, we'd all know about it by now! lol Good luck to you - and hang in there. Time will be your best friend right now - so give it a chance and you'll start to feel better soon.
A few years ago I was diagnosed with GERD and gastritis. I have been on Zantac for about 1.5 years, and used to take 150mg in the morning and 150mg before bed time. A few weeks ago, I decided to slowly get off the medication after being symptom free for six months. I wanted to get off the medication mainly due to it's side effects. At first I took 150mg every other morning and continued taking 150mg every night.
My doctor recommended zantac during my first two trimesters. It worked pretty well. Now there is just no room for my stomach, so he had me switch to prevacid, and I eat bland foods to keep it under control. I never recommend taking anything without asking, though. That way your doctor can explain the risks if there are any.
My daughter is 4 weeks old and she has been having gas problems from the begining. But for the last two days it seems like gas has gotten worse. I can hear the bubles in her stomach and she has been fussier. She also spits up a lot. I took her to doctor and they gave her Zantac. From what I was describing, doctor said it sounds like Acid Reflux. I have not given her the Zantac yet. Do you think having Acid Reflux can cause so much gas? Has anyone used Zantac for their newborns?
At first my dr diagnosed me with reflux and prescribed me Zantac which for me doesn't help. I do sometimes get belching and reflux type symptoms. I do also get a tender spot under my right rib, right shoulder pain, nausea, occasional vomiting. General upper abdominal discomfort is a big symptom. I don't tend to get the typical gall bladder attacks but rather an almost constant, daily irritation, dull but disruptive pain.
She was told that nothing can be done for her. and they gave her perscription zantac.
An Indian burn? I'm Native American = ) I have had that sensation and it was gas. Zantac helped, along with a better diet.

I was born with acid relfex and I've had it my whole life, the doctor I had when I was a baby overdosed me on zantac which caused me to have pulmonary, lung, and more stomach issues. So I'm wondering could that have long term effects because I'm still dependent on medicine to keep me from being sick and I wanted to know if there is cause for a malpractice suit?
My doc told me Zantac is safe for pregnant women. Iwas doing tums but they only worked but for so long and it says not to exceed 12 in a day. Zantac was a life saver for me.
The inside of my stomach as been burning for two days,im not able to sleep @ night cause of the burning.
Im 10+5 and I've had stomach pains for the last 4 weeks. the doctor said its normal as long as I'm not bleeding..... o and have really bad acid indigestion. i don't like to eat because it burns in my stomach. i live off of crackers and cheese because it's the only thing that doesn't make me want to vomit. anyone else have this or similar????
The stomach pain sometimes will last for an hour or less, very random. But enough for me to break down and try to find help. As of yesterday I've a total of 4 diarrhea episodes (I dont usually have a problem with diarrhea) I've also had a very stiff neck for the last 2 weeks, that sometimes gives me headaches. I've been to my local doctor who told me I probably had acid reflux and prescribed me 300mm Zantac.
It started with heart palpitations and vomiting, then i had abdominal or gas pain. stomach feels uncomfortable after eating.i went to a physician and he prescribed me zantac. i also had my blood checked for a deficiency in anything. results were norma except that i had a UTI infection. now i'm on zantac and an antibiotic. unfortunately i'm struggling with extreme fatigue upon standing, rapid heart rate some coughing and sometimes dizziness. This has been going on for three weeks.

I am a 21 year old female who has been seeing my physician for an undiagnosed GI issue for close to two months. Timeline of symptoms, tests, and medication: Feb 4th: Saw my doctor for reoccuring chest pains. EKG was normal. Feb 6th: Had my wisdom teeth pulled. Was on percocet for one week and did not experience chest pain. Mid Feb: Chest pain returns and regularly wakes me up in the middle of the night. I begin to experience sharp adbominal pain and frequent burping.

Hi, I am 46 yr old mom and I'm having trouble with stomach aches. I've had them for about 6 weeks. They started light, but now they are extremely intense. I have a very dull, but intense ache in the area of my belly button and a little above. It lasts for hours at a time. For the first severl weeks I knew when it was 4:00 p.m. by the pain that would slowly set in. Now, I'm having the pain in the morning for a few days and then a few days in the afternoon. No consistent patttern.
You may also want to add an OTC antacid like Pepcid or Zantac (an H2 inhibitor) for the moment. If you follow this for a week and don't start feeling better, go see a doc. If you do feel better, keep on the antacids for another week then knock them off. Continue on the DGL and aloe for at least a month, then try slowly to reintroduce the foods you eliminated. If after the antacids the feeling returns, go see a doc. Good luck.
Have you tried an antacid or something like Pepto-Bismol or Zantac - which I think reduces the amount of acid secreted by the stomach in order to reduce ulcer and heartburn pain or to assist in healing of ulcers - I'm pretty sure it is used to treat stomach and duodenal (intestinal) ulcers, and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). That might point you in the right direction. Sounds like you should still see your GP though.
I hardly ever skip meals and i take my daily vitamens. but for the past few weeks i have been getting a VERY painful feeling in my stomache, feels as though I was punched in the stomach. Usually the pain goes away if I have a small snack, but it allways comes back within 10 to 15 min. lately it has been getting worse and has gotten to the point where i would wake up in the middle of the night because of the pain.
