Avatar f tn Ive been to different doctors and all theyve given me is pills, pills, and more pills! I used to have a peptic ulcer so they all assume its related.. maybe it is, maybe it isnt but the pills theyve given me I dont feel have worked so.. I took to the herbal route and started taking a capsule of ceyenne pepper a day which seems to have helped immensely, Im even considering drinking aloe vera juice. Anyways! The pain in my stomach feels like a gnawing, nauseating pain..
Avatar m tn I have been having some unexplained, gradual groin pain (mainly right side). It starts about middle of the inner groin and down upper thigh (and back of leg/buttocks). I realize this could be a muscular tear or joint dysfunction but have some real Health Anxiety of a swollen tonsillar node that my ENT is watching (enlarged and a little more firm, but have history of mono and chronic throat infections).
20830596 tn?1554933789 Hello, has anyone ever taken PPIs or acid blockers (such as Prilosec, Prevaid, Nexium, Protonix, Zantac, Pepcid, etc) & had an increase or randomly started having OCD or anxiety? I had peptic ulcer a while back (not caused by h. pylori), & all of these meds seem to make my OCD almost intolerable. I thought the issue could have been that they were making my medications not absorb properly, but it looks like these meds actually cause temporary changes in the brain for some people?

Avatar f tn I need help for my cousin she has a peptic ulcer I gave her two geltazine but still she is suffering pain what should I do to make her better?
Avatar m tn Hi, How are you? Definite diagnosis for peptic ulcer is made through upper endoscopy. If your present medicines are not helping, I recommend that you inform your doctor for proper management suited for you. Symptoms of ulcer disease varies and may even be asymptomatic. It can present with upper abdominal burning or hunger pain one to three hours after meals and in the middle of the night. Avoiding the irritating foods and caffeine-rich drinks such as tea, coffee or soda may be helpful.
Avatar m tn A peptic ulcer is usually sores on the inside of your stomach or small intestines. This is what you are talking about? Or do you have sores on your mouth? Either way, neither is a risk for HIV transmission. Kissing is not a way that people get HIV. HIV in adults is transmitted by penetrating, unprotected vaginal or anal sex or sharing IV drug needles. That is really it. Saliva and air inactivate the virus so kissing is not a means of transmission.
Avatar m tn I recommend you ask your physician to be tested for peptic ulcer disease (ulcer) if your symptoms continue despite 4-8weeks of twice daily PPI therapy. In summary, I recommend: 1.Talk to your physician/gastroentertologist about once or twice daily Nexium therapy for 4 to 8 weeks 2.Talk to your physician about surgical options for GERD, to include antireflux surgery 3.Talk to your physician about testing for peptic ulcer disease with an endoscopy if medication fails for 4 to 8 weeks.
Avatar f tn Almost 4 years ago I had a peptic ulcer. It was rather small. My gastro doctor did a follow up endoscopy about 8 weeks later and all was clear. I was using omeprazole to clear the ulcer. Fast forward to now. I have the following symptoms. Lumpy throat (on and off) very short like pinch sensation lower esophagus (on and off) Upper abdominal stomach "raw" type ache on the left and right side - happened twice recently. Occasional heartburn and really bad foul smelling flatulence.
Avatar f tn org/diseases-conditions/peptic-ulcer/symptoms-causes/syc-20354223. I suffered my first ulcer for several months before it was found on endoscopy and then I drank a chalky liquid for two days and felt better. So, it can be a quick recovery if this is the situation for you. Do you take a lot of nsaids by the way?
3099520 tn?1341194531 This has been happening for the past few days, and last week i had constant nausea. What could this be, peptic ulcer? gastrointestinal problem? With my anxiety problem, these symptoms usually trigger a mild panic attack, so any answers would really help, thank you!
Avatar f tn Hi, dyspepsia is a vague discomfort in the upper abdomen or chest that may be described as gas,a feeling of fullness, gnawing,or burning. This can occur with peptic ulcer disease. Peptic ulcer pain is usually a burning pain. They commonly occur in the stomach and duodenum. Stomach ulcers cause pain on eating and duodenal ulcers cause pain on fasting (2-3 hrs after eating). Peptic ulcers are eroded areas in the lining of the digestive tract usually in the stomach and duodenum.
Avatar m tn This could indeed be due to acid peptic disorders such as peptic ulcer or GERD. Reflux usually presents with retrosternal burning discomfort, acid regurgitation and symptoms often occur after meals. While peptic ulcer presents with pain centered in the upper abdomen or discomfort characterized by fullness, bloating, distention, or nausea. Symptoms may be present before or after a meal depending on the location of the ulcer.
Avatar f tn In reviewing my medical records from my gastroenterologist it seems they keep bouncing between a diagnoses of "non ulcer dyspepsia" and "peptic ulcer disease". The non ulcer dyspepsia is a fancy term for ulcer like stomach pain without an ulcer and no clear cause. Then I occasionally do show up with peptic ulcers, which I thought were from accidentally taking a migraine medication that had aspirin in it...but I've never been checked for the pylori bacteria.
Avatar m tn Hello, The pain and discomfort in the lower left part of the stomach could be due to peptic ulcer disease.
1449501 tn?1284791872 Abdominal pain is seen in around 2-4 % patients but the cause of such pain is not clear. In rare cases it is known to cause stenosing peptic ulcer and pyloroduodenal obstruction which can present as severe abdominal pain. You may have to undergo endoscopy to rule out peptic ulcer, gastritis etc. Take care and regards.
459075 tn?1224121598 Hello, Your symptoms are suggestive of dyspepsia. It is due to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD),gastritis or peptic ulcer disease. It is usually after eating a heavy fatty meal and sedantry lifestyle. It can also be caused by drinking too much alcohol, prolonged use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin or ibuprofen, or infection with bacteria such as Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). Eat small nutritious meals at frequent intervals instead of a heavy single meal.
Avatar n tn ive had the pain for about 2 months,i havent been to the doctor,im pretty sure its a peptic ulcer, about 99% sure, and i have the urge to pee non stop but only a tiny bit of urine comes out each time and its pink, and sometimes has stomach lining looking peices..i want to sleep. is it ok to sleep and then go to the emergency room tommorow?
Avatar f tn Prevacid are often taken together to eradicate Helicobacter Pylori, a bacterial infection that can lead to stomach and duodenal ulcers. A tender stomach is very common with peptic ulcer, either duodenal or gastric.
Avatar f tn Well, yeah, but the remedies for an ulcer are different than the remedies for other gastric problems. It's hard to believe your mother about this, though, because as you probably know, an ulcer if not treated can eventually become a bleeding ulcer, which isn't wonderful -- I had one many years ago. I thought I had one like you and saw my doctor, who said I was too young to have one and let me go.
Avatar m tn Dear Spidersilk, Sir, in addition to the other poster's suggestions, your grandson could have a variety of some rather serious gastro problems, the list is as long as my arm, which constant abdominal pain in the young is ALWAYS to be taken seriously, as you have, but the mother has not.
Avatar f tn Helicobacter pylori infections lead to peptic ulcer disease. Peptic ulcers are eroded areas in the lining of the digestive tract usually in the stomach and duodenum. The two common causes for this are: infection with helicobacter pylori and use of non steroidal anti inflammatory medications (NSAID). So for the ulcer to heal and to reduce acid levels avoid NSAID's, quit smoking, eliminate alcohol and reduce stress levels.
