Common Questions and Answers about Zantac for infants how long to work

zantac

417274 tn?1202937034 My question is how long until the Zegerid they switched me to will stop working too? I have also been taking Zantac the entire time as well. I have already been tried on all the others and they just don't work, so unless something new comes out and my trend continues, my fear is that I'll be sunk with chronic issues that just won't heal.
Avatar f tn My throat burns like crazy I am concerned about further damage to my esophagus and stomach. I took the zantac for the 1st time last night. It took a while for it to start to help. However I woke up in the middle of the night burning again. I took another pill even though I was not due for several hours. He originally wanted to give me pepcid. However, I tried that over the counter this weekend & my BP skyrocketed.
Avatar f tn Babies will eat until they're full and then they stop. But, sometimes a baby will eat to be soothed. It sounds like the cool milk must feel good on her tummy but then she ends up paying for it with pain because she's so full. I would have to research this because it's been awhile but a month old baby usually drinks about 4 ounces every 3 to 4 hours. That would be at most 24 ounces in 24 hours. Yes, I agree. Your grand daughter is getting too much formula.
1330108 tn?1333677304 t go near that area. For naps started to put her in her crib to get used to it awhile. We also try to do a lot of tummy time during the day but who knows how much my husband and mother in law will do it when I go back to work. Thanks for the info though I did find it interesting as well!!!!
Avatar f tn I used to work at a really good daycare. I worked with all ages but if I had a choice to be stay at home or have a family member watch my baby I would. A con would be that the ratio for a baby to an adult is 4:1. Meaning one adult to four babies and due to staffing and saving money daycares usually just meet to their requirements. Also you put a lot of trust in someone or someones you don't entirely know.
8628831 tn?1407267564 Mreeah I am a pediatric RN and when I got in to work in the morning I can see all the calls that came through the answering service we have overnight... You'd be shocked at why some people call their pediatrician in the middle of the night!
Avatar m tn My 18 year old daughter spent the last 4 months weening off Pristiq and now feel she really needs something for depression and anxiety. So my question, how long to start feeling the effects of Zoloft? She is starting at 50 mg for a week then moving up to 100mg. Any information would be helpful.. I realize everyone is different, but would like to know some experiences.
Avatar f tn If you are planning on working after you have the baby, it is good to work for as long as possible before the baby comes. here's why--- that time you take off counts toward your short term disability and the family medical leave. There are maximum days associated with both of those and you'd be using them to have the baby early. I worked until close to my due date with my first taking a few vacation days.
Avatar m tn I took Zantac because I had gastritis symptoms. Now I hear that Zantac causes cancer and wished I never went to pills for relief. How long does it take for cancer to appear after you've taken Zantac? I've heard the NDMA in Zantac causes full body cancers in every organ.... This seems like a intentionally made drug to induce cancer.
Avatar f tn The bottle says not to take more than 5 in 24 hours but when I asked my midwife like 6 or 8 weeks ago about heartburn and told her I was only eating one when symptoms came because I didn't want to exceed the amount it said and that I definitely would considering how often I get it - but the symptoms didn't really go away with only taking one so she told me it was okay to take more than the suggested amount because only taking one wasn't going to help me.
Avatar f tn Well...I had called my family doctor once again because I feared Conner was suffering from both a Milk and Soy intolerance. My doctor finally refered me to a Pediatric GI and I had Conner seen that day. Everything went okay, it's better news than I had expected, but it's still news I was hoping I didn't get. One a good note, Conner is not allergic to soy(thank god). He does however have a severe Milk allergy that he may not outgrow.
2102364 tn?1334181277 Oops wanted to add you to my watch list to hear how all goes for you and I forgot to put a check mark in the box--also apologies for such a lengthy post above--lol
Avatar m tn I should have said how long will it for the symtoms to begin to go away?
Avatar f tn Ill be going back to work about 2months after ... But luckily i have family to watch him, forget the people who are criticizing thats your situation, you do what you need to do. As for daycare id suggest visiting many places, interviewing them and even asking to speak with parents who have their children enrolled there that way they can discuss with you on a more personal level how they truly feel about that day care.
3055148 tn?1368211800 Has anyone ever taken Zantac? My doctor told me to take that everyday instead of taking tums b/c they are pointless, but I kinda don't wanna take medicine.
1330108 tn?1333677304 My daughter was born at 35 weeks 1 day gestation. She is now 19 days old. She does not cry for food and she suffers from GERD. The drs said feed on demand but then said small frequent meals. How much how often should she be eating? I'm waking her every 2 hours to feed and giving her 2oz pumped breastmilk. When breastfeeding she eats until it all comes back.
Avatar f tn Well, my first problem with nursing was that I was on Magnesium in the hospital, which made both of us really sleepy for the first day, and I didn't get a great latch to start. I had one day where it was really working out in the hospital, but then he had jaundice, and wasn't getting enough from me, so I was supplementing and breast feeding. I ended up pumping while in the hospital, and I rented one of their pumps to bring home for a month.
Avatar n tn Just had to comment about your stopping protonix. I have been on high doses of PPI's since January 2012. Omeprazole 80 mg/day, which did next to nothing after 18 months, then asked for a stronger pill that I could take 1xD, and the doc prescribed pantoprazole 40mg, and it worked like magic and I saw a huge difference within 2 weeks. Have now been on it for about 6 months and feel better than I have felt in years.
Avatar n tn I want to follow the prescription of my GI instead, especially that my evening symptoms seem to be going back. She gave me the zantac for this particular reason. I experience nausea at night but I cannot take any meals anymore. Which do you think is more effective? Should I just continue taking nexium, motilium and mucosta? Or should I switch to zantac? Can I still continue taking motilium even with zantac?
1330108 tn?1333677304 Therefore, when considering the recommendations in this report, it is fundamentally misguided to focus on a single risk factor or to attempt to quantify risk for an individual infant. Individual medical conditions may warrant a physician to recommend otherwise after weighing the relative risks and benefits. 1. Back to sleep: Infants should be placed for sleep in a supine position (wholly on the back) for every sleep. Side sleeping is not as safe as supine sleeping and is not advised.
Avatar f tn Was your daughter not able to breath because of it? How long did the Zantac take to make that not happen anymore!
Avatar n tn How did the zantac work for u????
Avatar n tn but im thinking of trying zantac for her the least doisage possible just to cjeck if it will reduce the spitting and the crankiness after feeds, but i also don't want her tummy to get used to it since my self i have been on omeprazole for years and can't live without it.. it's only during my pregnancy that I have changed to zantac and in severe cases pariet or lanzor.
