520191 tn?1355635402 Over a year ago i was given ranitidine for the treatment of GERD. I took my first dose and i started to feel nausea so i went to bed, during the night i started vomiting and not like any vomit i had ever experienced before. i thought nothing of it, until my heart began to race through out the night. the next morning i thought i might be allergic to one of my medication as i was prescribed 2 medication all at once.
Avatar m tn 5 packs of cigarettes a week (3-5 a day) for 3.5 years. About 6 months ago I started to feel like I was wheezing a little bit. Then I started getting some tightness In the base of my neck/throat and around my Adam’s apple. I went to the doctor he examined my neck didn’t feel anything and he ordered a neck ultra sound and blood test I guess to check my thyroid. Both of those came back normal.

Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
Avatar n tn Started out only 1 place at a time, now it can be 4 or 5 separate places swelling. Again, it takes 2 1/2 days for the swelling to occur after I eat something with corn in it. Even Ibuprofen and many vitamins have corn in it. Zyrtec, Benadryl, does not help. Has anyone been able to verify Corn as the culprit?

Avatar n tn Then I went to my primary, got tested for scabies, said not MRSA or Imphego or STDs, came back clean. It has been 6 weeks now and i am still getting the hives. I noticed that my Lymph nodes in my groin area are swollen. My allergist and the Hospitals put me on steroids and I went from 120 to 131 in 3 weeks with no relief!!! I stopped taking the medicines because they were not helping. I am at a loss, I constanally break out no matter where I am or what I am doing.

Avatar f tn Hello, Allergy shots (immunotherapy) do work very well for most people. Usually, you can start feeling a difference in 3 - 6 months. They take 2 - 5 years (rarely longer) to become desensitized to your allergens. The desensitization is permanent. Make sure you get true immunotherapy. These shots are small amounts of your allergens given in a controlled environment to teach your immune system to "not over react" to these normally harmless substances.
