Avatar f tn had thyroid checked becuz I nhad went into ER due to side effects from Nexium...... Made me feel even worse anxiety, etc. I am currently on Carafate and Zantac (which I think may be making me feel kinda bad too). I have gastritis and acid reflux. Here is my current lab for thyroid (total thyroidectomy 5yrs ago) TSH 0.14. (0.27-4.20) FREE T4. 1.45 (0.93-1.70) Lab a couple of months ago TSH 0.22 FREE T4 1.36 I'm currently on .75 levo and Dr. just lowered it to 50.
Avatar n tn Tums are safe if you take the recommended dose. I had to take Zantac 150 also because it's gotten so bad.
Avatar m tn i wouldn't worry about the zantac making you extra drowsy with the xanax. it is such a low dose of xanax it shouldn't hurt too much. i have heard of people taking zantac and nexium in the same day though. when i was wondering about what i could take with the nexium my pharmacist told me that i could take imodium ad with it.
Avatar f tn Tums and i are best friends lol. Doc always said it's just an extra dose of calcium!!
Avatar f tn Is it okay to take Prilosec? They said Zantac was okay, but not to take Prevacid. I bought Prilosec and want your opinions on it.
Avatar f tn ve been getting much worse this past week. Had a lot of nausea going on and got prescribed Zantac (ranitidine). Took my first dose the night before last, was feeling a little better yesterday afternoon, then in the evening I ate a baked sweet potato and felt bloated, crampy, and tight all over my back and abdomen. I was also feeling lightheaded and weak while I was having these feelings.
Avatar f tn I took tums till I was taking the max dose and switched to zantac and literally its amazing works way better then tums
Avatar f tn ER said it was likely bronchitis that caused bronchspasm and gave him a steroid dose pack. 3 days later it happened again same time of night at a friends house and was taken to another ER. They said it was reflux and gave him zantac. Pediatrician is sending him to a pulmonologist but suspects it is his larynx spasming. She gave him an inhaler in the meantime. We also have referrals to ENT and GI. Does anyone know anything about this? It’s now happening every night while he is sleeping.

Avatar n tn Going on almost four months now continuously. Taking 60 milligrams of Kapifex in the morning and 150 milligrams of Zantac in the evening. Even that combination isn't working. Anyone out there had GERD to this degree? If so, what did you do to alleviate it. Thanks for any info.
Avatar m tn The fact that it felt better after taking Zantac 150 mg, indicates that you might be experiencing GERD. Take the Zantac for two weeks, eliminate fried foods and spicy foods from your diet. See if this does not help your heartburn. If your throat gets worse, get a culture! Your doctor is trying to treat you for two things: GERD and a bacterial infection. He will refer you to a GI doctor only if your GI symptoms continue or worsen, even with the Zantac.
Avatar f tn I have had different sysmptons for months mostly throat burning and mid sternum pain alternating with soreness. I was put on prilosec with no difference then zantac 300 mg and now nexium. The zantac showed improvement. Then went to a gastro and he changed me to 40 mg Nexium with marked improvement. I had an ultrasound, hyda scan both normal. I then had an endoscopy that showed stomach was irritated and and a raw spot in my esophagus. It appeared to be healing.
676912 tn?1332812551 I tried mylanta before I got the zantac, I had it prescribed to me because nothing else was working...and the zantac was working up to now...
Avatar f tn heartburn is probably my worst enemy right now. My doctor recommended Zantac. 1 pill twice daily. It didn't work at first but then after a few weeks of taken it, it finally started working. Now if I don't take it, I feel like I'm dying. Tums, milk, water, or crackers didn't work. It just made it worse for me.
Avatar f tn Just a question....has anyone out there had a thyroidectomy and then actually felt really good forever thereafter? I'm going on a year now and I have months of greatness but then it always ends and I'm back to feeling poorly again. I don't know if it's my medicine or what. My dosage of Synthroid was decreased to 137 from 150 because I was feeling just horrific several months ago. I begged my endo to decrease it and he reluctantly agreed.
290867 tn?1333569278 Hey! I'm glad to hear that he seems to be feeling better! I would be very careful with adding the rice cereal. Babies with MSPI can have a difficult time with rice (especially at such a young age). You might find it causes constipation and more discomfort in the long run. If his REFLUX is being properly treated, it's not a big deal for him to spit up. Yes, it's a mess and not fun to deal with...
Avatar f tn Zantac!! I am in the same boat! Heartburn ***** ***!
Avatar n tn I had one dr tell me nothing more then tums or gaviscon for heartburn.
593603 tn?1229378162 Does anyone know if you can take Zantac 75 during your first trimester for heartburn? I took it with my first pregnancy, but it was a lot later in the pregnancy. I am dying here, and need a fix.
