Within the last few month she is been having accelerating blood pressure in the evenings. Her pressure goes from 105/65 to 185/150 in minutes. It happens randomly 3-5 times a week usually between 6-10PM. Her pulse could anywhere from 65-95 during the attacks. Her doctor gave Clonidine to control the pressure during the attacks. The attacks have been increasing in frequency. She had CT scan of her kidneys and adrenal glands and they were clean. It is a mystery to us and her doctors.
Your symptoms are identical to my symptoms of low-blood pressure and dehydration. I know now how to recognise the symptoms and the first thing I did after the dizziness, fainting, sweating, and shaking chills, was to check my blood pressure. My BP was 67/58/70. A normal BP is about 120/70/70. I began drinking 8 glasses of fluid a day for a week, and all the symptoms disappeared and I felt fine. Try flavored water to help you drink the daily amount of fluid.
For 3 months now I have been dealing with extreme high blood pressure. Avg. 220/123, accompanied by chest pain in my upper left size of my chest. This pain does not move. I have been put in the hospital 3 times within these 3 months. I get stress tests, ultrasounds, X-rays and blood work. All tests says I am not having a heart attack, but with my blood pressure being high it is making my left side of my heart to struggle and causing my heart walls to thicken..
I've gotta fast a minimum of 10hrs for some blood work today so I can't take my Zantac until this afternoon which su__s because my stomach is rather unhappy in the mornings. I haven't had a BM so far to day but I'm not surprised because I went 3 time yesterday and it was hard the first time and very soft the other 2 times blood pressure or stress related I figure.
Deciding that I needed to get in better shape, I joined some fitness classes at my local gym. WHen fitness trainer measured my blood pressure it read 137/89. He recommended that I track it over serveral days. My readings over a 2 wk span averaged 139.5/82. The highest systolic measurement was 148. Highest diastolic was 89. I am a nonsmoker; the only other health issue I have is chronic heartburn (a hyperacidity problem diagnosed when I was 19 yrs old.
I went to my dr this week for the heartburn and they took my blood pressure and it was 126/98. They took it 4 times. Dr asked me to keep a log and come back for bloodwork this week. He looked at my blood work from last year and he said my cortisol was low and wanted to recheck everything to see what is going on. When I started working out with my trianer in Jan, he noticed my pusle was high. My husband bought me a watch to check my pulse and even when I wake up, it's in the high 90's.

One possible test your doctor could order to better evaluate this is a 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitor. This checks your BP several times an hour for a 24-hour period and your true blood pressure can be seen. Not all insurance companies pay for this test but it may be worth it to pay out of your own pocket if it means getting off some medication. I hope you find this information useful. The nurse originally stated that we should keep an eye on his blood pressure and have the echo repeated in a year. We got a call back stating that the my husband also had mild left ventricular hypertrophy. We were told that he doesnt necessarily need to see a cardiologist but that he should come back in to talk to the doctor about possibly going on a low dose medication. I dont have the echocardiogram report in hand (yet).
I am currently seeing a GI doctor to try to figure out what is causing my right upper quadrant pain and pressure. I'm a 30 yr.old healthy female that has had RUQ pain and pressure off and on for the past 3 years. About 3 weeks ago, I had another "attack" which landed me in the ER. They did an abdominal U/S which was negative, pelvic u/s which was negative, CT scan which was also negative, as well as blood work and urine. They referred me to GI the next day. The GI dr.
I started getting a "nightmare cough" about 3 months ago. After some research I'm thinking it could be due to my high blood pressure med. "Diltiazem". I know ace inhibitors can cause this but this is a calcium channel blocker. Can my cough be due to the Diltiazem. I actually broke a rib two weeks from coughing so hard. I'm getting very little sleep because the tickle seems to hit almost every hour. How long does it take for the medicine to get out of your system?
But what i dont understand is my hives come on and they are soooooo painful, and any place pressure is applied, ( like a blood pressure cuff tightening on my arm will cause the hives to be around my arm) I have taken all the the antihistamines, and the best was a combination of the H1 and H2 blockers which is just a stomache medicine like zantac and antihistamines together ( DAILY) I have taken steroids, and steroid shots, but that is a temp. fix when i have a severe out break.
(did it just eventually go away, did they give her meds etc?) Also, did the ER do an EKG, Blood Pressure Check, Blood Panel etc? If so I recommend ordering a copy of the records to look at them yourself. Usually GERD does not have sweating accompany it. Does she know what happened right before the reaction? (spicy food, alchohol, energy drinks or any kind of stimulants, stress, anxiety etc.
Last week I joined the local gym and signed up for some upcoming fitness classes. When the trainer took my blood pressure, it read 138/89. This seemed high to me, since my normal readings in the past at checkups and during my pregnancy were always around 120/70 (textbook normal). I have checked my BP a couple of times between last Thursday and today (Monday). The measurements are 148/85 (3:45 pm), 142/83 (4:00pm), 138/83 (11:00 am) and 137/87 (9:00am). I am started my fitness classes yesterday.

My doctor started me back on my LISINOPRIL due to my very high blood pressure readings. My doctor also gave me a shot of prednisone. I had a week of bliss with no episodes. After that I experienced severe facial swelling on three separate occasions. I used epi-pen injections but still had to go to the ER. ER doctors used same protocol as before. A Feb 8 CAT SCAN showed a mass in my throat that was displacing my trachea. I am again off the LISINOPRIL and MYCARDIS HCT.
