I was prescribed zantac 150 mg 2x a day n just had a healthy baby boy Nov 8 so i agree with the other ladies perfectly safe and a life saver!!

Calcium supplements! Not Tums. Bicarbonates can be harmful to baby. Incline sleeping, water, less sodium, and milk will help.

I take Zantac 150 once a day as prescribed by my Dr. I've had terrible acid reflux and it seems to be helpful. It's safe ..my neighbor gives her 4 month old baby zantac for silent reflux as prescribed by her pediatrician.

Is it okay to take Prilosec? They said Zantac was okay, but not to take Prevacid. I bought Prilosec and want your opinions on it.

my 14 weeks baby girl weighing 12 pounds spits up at least 3 to 4 times every feed (4 feeds per day) and she burps many times as well and she gets all cranky and fussy while burping or spitting.. She doesn't cry excessively but she just seems annoyed and we need to keep distracting her..

In regards to indigestion, the recommended dose of Zantac is to start off with a 75 mg tablet about 30-60 minutes before eating food or drinking any beverage that cause heartburn. Zantac will help in preventing heartburn. The maximum amount to take in one day is 300 mg (4 tablets of 75 mg or 2 tablets of 150 mg). You should not use it for more the 14 days or on a regular basis unless consulting with a physician.

I had to move from tums to zantac to even battle my heartburn because I have it that bad too I get it from water lol

The bottle says not to take more than 5 in 24 hours but when I asked my midwife like 6 or 8 weeks ago about heartburn and told her I was only eating one when symptoms came because I didn't want to exceed the amount it said and that I definitely would considering how often I get it - but the symptoms didn't really go away with only taking one so she told me it was okay to take more than the suggested amount because only taking one wasn't going to help me.

I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?

had thyroid checked becuz I nhad went into ER due to side effects from Nexium...... Made me feel even worse anxiety, etc. I am currently on Carafate and Zantac (which I think may be making me feel kinda bad too). I have gastritis and acid reflux. Here is my current lab for thyroid (total thyroidectomy 5yrs ago) TSH 0.14. (0.27-4.20) FREE T4. 1.45 (0.93-1.70) Lab a couple of months ago TSH 0.22 FREE T4 1.36 I'm currently on .75 levo and Dr. just lowered it to 50.

i wouldn't worry about the zantac making you extra drowsy with the xanax. it is such a low dose of xanax it shouldn't hurt too much. i have heard of people taking zantac and nexium in the same day though. when i was wondering about what i could take with the nexium my pharmacist told me that i could take imodium ad with it.

What i have learned when it comes to medications and pregnancies, some doctors go off of real statistics, how many situations did a woman take this medication and something happened to the baby or mom. And in most cases the percentage is real low, thats why they make a judgement call to prescribe meds.

Tums and i are best friends lol. Doc always said it's just an extra dose of calcium!!

Hi, my son is 1 month 1/2 old and suffers from reflux. His pediatrician put him on zantac about 2 weeks ago and now again 2 days ago. I'm not seeing much improvements since he is still spitting up and sometimes it just goes back down. I also feel that he has had colic, since he cries out of no where with such a great force. I was mostly breastfeeding and he was drinking formula (similac advance) as well but maybe just about 2 oz. every other feeding.

ve been getting much worse this past week. Had a lot of nausea going on and got prescribed Zantac (ranitidine). Took my first dose the night before last, was feeling a little better yesterday afternoon, then in the evening I ate a baked sweet potato and felt bloated, crampy, and tight all over my back and abdomen. I was also feeling lightheaded and weak while I was having these feelings.

I took tums till I was taking the max dose and switched to zantac and literally its amazing works way better then tums

My dr says zantac is ok to take...I had a pre-existing stomach problem before I got pregnant, and the zantac works great!

ER said it was likely bronchitis that caused bronchspasm and gave him a steroid dose pack. 3 days later it happened again same time of night at a friends house and was taken to another ER. They said it was reflux and gave him zantac. Pediatrician is sending him to a pulmonologist but suspects it is his larynx spasming. She gave him an inhaler in the meantime. We also have referrals to ENT and GI. Does anyone know anything about this? It’s now happening every night while he is sleeping.

35 weeks with baby #4. My heartburn is bad enough I sleep sitting up on my couch and have been for a month. Way better than waking up to vomit 4/5 times a night from acid reflux.

However, we have been unable to wean her off of the zantac. If we miss even 1 dose, the poor thing starts shrieking, arching, turning red, etc... I tried to get her down to twice a day because she had been doing well. Only 3 hours past when her dose would have been due, she was inconsolable and in obvious pain. Is this normal? Isn't there a build up of some meds in the system?

Going on almost four months now continuously. Taking 60 milligrams of Kapifex in the morning and 150 milligrams of Zantac in the evening. Even that combination isn't working. Anyone out there had GERD to this degree? If so, what did you do to alleviate it. Thanks for any info.
