Zantac and xanax

Common Questions and Answers about Zantac and xanax

zantac

at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.
I take Prevacid in the morning and a Zantac 150 at night and my gastro dr. said it's fine. If I take two Prevacid I get diareeah, so this is what I do to control my acid reflux and heal my ulcers. The pimples I'm not sure. Did you check with your dentist?
Nope, Xanax. I was just saying how I'm trying to avoid heartburn, being off Nexium and all. But, nevermind, I looked it up and found out Xanax does wear away the area where the stomach meets the esophagus.
Not only was I taking Xanax but also Celexa. That did not work and switched to Cympalta, then Zoloft, then Prozac, then amitryptaline and finally said ENOUGH! I want my life back. To say the last 5 years of my life was "Hell on earth" woudl be the understatement of the century. Along with the Xanax, for the 5 years, my doctor had me taking 80mgs daily of a drug called Protonix which is a PPI...like Prilosec or Zantac. As I said...

Hi......Zantac is not an antidepressant it's prescribed for heartburn. Is there another medication she's been prescribed that maybe you got confused with the Zantac?
My colon was still the same. I am on Prozac. I also take xanax here and there for anxiety. We are probably similar with what our bodies have been going through. The 1600 miligrams of calcium a day really helps....I didn't notice a change for over 2 weeks or so though...so don't give up hope until 3 weeks of trying what I told you.
try to keep your reflux to a minimum and youll see gradual improvement with the palps and svt. 150mg Zantac 2/day does me wonders...even when im not having reflux problems, it does wonders for the palps. most doctors wont acknowledge the link between GI and cardio....screw em anyway.
I was told at first that It was probably just anxiety and was given a small perscription and low dose of Xanax to help, which DID but albeit breifly. My Grandpa has since passed and I have dealt with it and went thru my mourning phase and thought I was getting back to normal. I have now gone thru this 3 times, a month or 2 of issues that go away for a month or so and then suddenly come back. The biggest concern is my sternum/chest pain....
Medications to reduce the number of them and learn to live with them(ha,ha)... Anyway, I finally got on atenonol and zoloft(50mg) and xanax. I take xanax when I have an episode it it goes away almost right away. The zoloft i take everyday(it is for depression) but the small dosage along with atenonol has put me back in controll of my life. I have had very few episodes for this past year and am at a point now that I do not even think about them (untill they happen of course).
If you have then you might benefit from seeing a Psychiatrist as a lot of this may be anxiety. Believe me, because I've had it. IT caused me a lot of problems. Since I have been taking prozac and xanax, my symptoms have been much better. You may also benefit from taking a beta blocker which will slow your heart and keep it regular. Ask your doctor about these medicatons. I still have pvc's but they're not as bad. Best of luck to you.
I take Levothyroxine, Zyrtec, Zantac, Prednisone as needed, and Xanax to help me cope. Hang in there! I know all too well how hard it is to live with this problem.
Advair 100/50 mg Atenelol 50 mg Celebrex Diovan HCT 320/25 mg Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg Norco Soma I am sick and tired of this entire thing and I just don't know which way to turn. Everytime I turn around i'm being sent to another doctor and no one seems to understand what I'm going through. They just tell me that I need to lose weight and everything will be ok. Thank for all that you do and your listening.
I have been on Benzos (Xanax, klonopin, Valium) and Methadone for 9 years now and no adverse side effects! The doctors urge people to keep them apart because you can overdose if not careful. But, you can overdose on almost anything with Methadon and I have a bottle of tramadole here with 500 in it and it's just trash cause I know it can put you into withdrawals!
I have tried prilosec and ended up in the hospital. Zantac does nothing. I KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG. I HAVEN'T HAD A REAL MEAL IN NEARLY THREE YEARS.
It's not seem to be related to a stomach acid problem since I have some Pantaloc pills that I use once in a while or some Zantac and they do nothing to stop the stomach pain. Of course, I do a lot of panic attacks.... If I do something to hard physically or push my limits to hard, I have to pay the price for this. For example, I had my Christmas dinner with my familly last evening and I was feeling so anxious and my heart and all the symptoms was so strong, I was scare...
I have been having the same issue going on a couple of weeks now myself. I just had a full cardio workout 2 months ago. I went to the E.R. and they told me the hard pulse is my Barretts. I go to the Gastro and he tells me he think its cardio. I go to the cardio and he tells me its Gastro. I work out about 40 to 45 mins a day walking. Ive limited my calories and I still get them. I keep getting bounced back and forth from Dr. to Dr. My Gastro Dr.
They gave me an IV and a smaller powerful laxative. They did blood tests and xrays and sent me home. Even with nothing in my gut I was still belching like crazy and have a constant pressure in my stomach that causes extreme discomfort. As I burp it lessens, but I can never seen to get it to completely go away even when I am empty. I barely have ate solids (eggs, bread, yogurt, and applesauce).
Please talk to your dr. and see if he will prescribe something for panic disorder (I take Xanax) and see if that helps. They happen when you least expect, stressed or not, and since you've been down so long and not been able to go, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if that's not what it was.
abdominal ultrasound normal, several EKG's normal, Echocardiogram showing MItral Valve Prolapse, Endoscopy showing gastritis, eosinophilic esophagitis, incompetent LES. I have been taking Achipex in the AM and Zantac in the PM. Plus really watching what I am eating. It seems to be OK for awhile and then like out of the blue I will get one of these attacks. I'm not sure what else to try, the Dr's haven't been very helpful.
I had a endoscopy yesterday to try and determin why I keep having heart attack symptoms, chest pains, pain into my left jaw and arm. I have had a stress test and cardiac cath and they have determined that there is nothing wrong with my heart. I have been taking prilosec 20mg, zantac 300mg and xanax .25 with little or no relief. My doctor says that I have "diffuse congestion and erthema, compatible with gastritis, Hypoperistasis of the stomach and possible gastroparesis.
I have tried prilosec and ended up in the hospital. Zantac does nothing. I KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG. I HAVEN'T HAD A REAL MEAL IN NEARLY THREE YEARS.
He put me on Celebrex (anti-inflammatory for my neck and gave me Zoloft and Xanax for the anxiety. I've been sick much more often in the last six months, probably due to a horrible work environment (new boss). My doctor didn't know how or why my neck has suddenly swollen. But it worries me a lot and my husband is really concerned. I feel like my healthy is spinning out of control. I'm still having severe neck pain and my should is still pretty stiff.
Since becoming hypo I SUFFER terribly from acid and BLOATING. I have tried every RX and over counter med knownto man and find minimal relief with Zantac 150 2 to 3 x's per day. I changed my diet. I must exercise more. In truth, I never had to be very regimen before this ordeal with the thyroid. What is heck is going on. If I could control the acid - I think I may be able to tackle feeling better. I was ever a complainer EVER. but know I just whine all the time. I have FINALLY found a good doc.
I want to live a normal life again, however no one can help me. Doctors always give me some zantac and then I get better or even some times they give me Xanax. Lately a doctor gave me Tasonade but it drived me crazy! I was getting worse and worse and one night I ended up in the hospital with terrible stress and stomach pain. Has anyone the same symptoms with me? Is it panic attacks or IBS? What do you think? Is it something that be cured?Do I need a psycologist? I appreciate any help.
i get confused between the 2 meds xanax and zantac? (sp) both for 2 different conditions.i had to go look at the prescription in my cupboard to see. this is my experience w. xanax. i have it for anxiousness/nervousness. i took a pill (.25mg) the other day (this is new for me, i took lorezipams when needed). i like the lorizipams much better. the xanax made me feel VERY, VERY sad, depressed. i didnt know what was wrong w. me and i was all choked up/cried a couple times.
i realize my problem minor compared to others on these boards but i rather tackle this now before it grows into something major. i do have xanax .25mg and ambiens........im going to use them to fight of insomnia. i currently take celexa to fight depression. what im gonna need advice on is the feelings o dysphoria( basically hating life and not wanting to do anything.). and this horrible discomfort in my upper stomach. what can i do for this feeling in my stomach.
Just to be sure -- I am taking Norpace XR, Atenolol, Xanax, Synthroid, Zantac, and Metformin. I have normal kidney function.
75mg of Ranitidine (Zantac)----one first thing in the morning and one before dinner at night, and the arrhythmias WENT AWAY COMPLETELY. Your results may vary, so please don't take this as medical advice--I just wanted to let you and the group know (and the MD's and cardiologists if they are reading this) that there is a definite connection between digestive tract acid, vagal nerve stimulation (or destimulation) and heart arrhythmias.
