Sounds like you have the dreaded PUPPS rash! Welcome to the club if it gets any worse take oatmeal baths and take one Zyrtec and Zantac throughout the day. And yes I said Zantac, I have the PUPPS rash and that's how mine started and I got diagnosed just a few weeks ago! There is no cure except to deliver the baby. I hope I'm wrong, because it is miserable! Mine is on my belly, arms, thighs, and sides.

I just wanted to give everyone an update on everything with Julian. Since the last time I posted he has been put on Zantac for his GERD and acid reflux and when he began screaming in pain while eating they also put him on Carafate to help coat his horribly damaged esophagus! The next day after taking both meds he had the worst diaper rash and he is now on a perscription diaper rash ointment as well. He seems to be doing better but still in some pain!

Itching on arms and legs only, no rash. Occurs about every 6-7 days for the past month. Take Benedryl, Zertec, and Zantac at one time. Takes 6-24 hours for itch to stop. I assume it is something that I eat. Suppose I need to get Dr. to run test?

Started tx on Friday, and woke up Monday to a developing rash on my arms and legs. Did I mention ITCHY rash? (no, I don't scratch) This morning it is much heavier. I put cortisone cream on last nite, and my RN friend recommended Zyrtec since I can't take Benedryl. It's a little better - but I thought maybe someone else has experienced this and has another idea?

Hi, my son is 1 month 1/2 old and suffers from reflux. His pediatrician put him on zantac about 2 weeks ago and now again 2 days ago. I'm not seeing much improvements since he is still spitting up and sometimes it just goes back down. I also feel that he has had colic, since he cries out of no where with such a great force. I was mostly breastfeeding and he was drinking formula (similac advance) as well but maybe just about 2 oz. every other feeding.

This is an autoimmune eczema type rash that comes from the ribavirin most likely and called riba rash in here. The best thing I could find for it was Gold Bond Triple Threat Anti Itch Medicated lotion (green bottle red top). You have to use it several times a day - not just once. And when the rash abates don't stop losing the lotion or it will come right back. As long as you use some thick lotion that won't just wear off in a few minutes I'm sure it would fine.

I take 40 mg of prilosec a day and it works amazing

Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.

I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?

I was given a 2 week course of Zantac to be taken morning and evening for two weeks. Immediately after taking them, I felt good and a lot of the troubles I have been having with my mouth(white spots on tongue, sore throat) disappeared. Then, on the fourth day, it all returned with a vengeance. Sore throat, dry cough, white coated tongue, and since then has only gotten worse. I stopped the Zantac after about 12 days and on that day my neck started to ache like crazy.

One other suggestion from some of the books I read when Augie was a baby was along the lines of the Zantac. It is to take regular Maalox and let it stand (so it settles), and then to take a cotton ball and dip it in only the liquid at the top of the bottle, and to dab that liquid on. Something about the anti-acidic nature of the antacid. Seemed to work pretty well the few times I tried it.

I've just started taking zantac, and I don't know if I'll have any side effects, or if my regular symptoms (stomach pain, upset stomach) will become apparent or come back. My question is this; if I get nauseous, stomach pain, upset stomach etc. as a side effect or other, can I take tums to calm my stomach down? Or will it just make things worse? I can't talk to my doctor because (a) don't have an appointment and (b) am too young to drive there or get an appointment myself.

After month upon month of frustration, the wife goes and buys hubby some extra strength Zantac and within three hours he was wanting a cheeseburger. When the doctors came in that afternoon I asked them to give it a try. After a bit of condescending attitude on the doctor's part, he said, well, it can't hurt her so if that's what you want we will give it a try. I started with Prilosec (omeprozole) and all was well until day 6 when I developed the worst, constant, headache, skin rash on my arm and blurry vision. A few days later I switched to Zantac (Ranitidine) and within 3 days noticed that I would wake up in the middle of the night with severe join pain in my elbows, wrists, ankles & knees, I developed seasonal allergy symptoms, tingling sensation in both hands and feet and back pain.

Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.

t zantac but it is the same ingredient you drop it in a half cup water and it foams up and you quickly drink it. It is OTC. If zantac is safe this should be too. Thanks so much. Also i read that taking any antacid like tums and rolaids can have a reaction with the prozac. Is this true i was too scared to try Tums.

Go pick up zantac 150 or 75 mg. If 75 mg take 1 pill twice daily and then take tums as needed. Zantac should prevent the heartburn but if it doesnt work on occasion take tums (i normally take 4 extra strength tums or 2 ultra strength at a time) I was prescribed zantac 75 mg twice a day with my first baby and told to take tums if for some reason zantac doesnt help so its perfectly safe!

I did not experience Hives. I haven't heard of any rash or hives except from those that are taking the Ribavirin. you are the first. Allegra/Zantac combo can solve this problem? Helped me when I got hives from my first treatment of Interferon/Ribavirin. Check with your doctor.

Zantac Ranitidine (150mg), antacid zellox-II, Zecuf, antibiotic (cephalexin), paracetamol, and cough syrup. This is when problem occurred. I started to experience soft light yellow stool (very little as i didn't eat much), diarrhea (>3 times, little too) , indigestion, nausea, and bloat. I started to get worried and didn't take the medicine for the time being. Please advise me what to do now. Thanks in advance.

developed dizzy spells about a week ago went to the ER and nothing. joints (esp hands) hurt and today developed a rash from the waist up, at times nauseated. Always have had trouble with constipation but am within the last week have been having diarrhea. My energy level is very low and I am very tired. the GI doctor told me that this occurs in 6 out of 100 GB surgeries. That was all of the information that I got. I keep calling the Dr but get no where. My follow up is March 10th.

My RE and my OB both said I could take Zantac 150 - - didn't want me to take Pepto Bismol (b/c it has aspirin in it) or Prilosec OTC (it's a category C).

By taking a medication off prescription and making it OTC the NHS saves money and the pharmaceutical company make more money because presumably more people will by it when they don't need a prescription. The reason you think Rannitidine is less effective is because the placebo effect has been removed.In fact both drugs are equally effective. Otherwise the generic version would not have been licenced.
