Then, on the fourth day, it all returned with a vengeance. Sore throat, dry cough, white coated tongue, and since then has only gotten worse. I stopped the Zantac after about 12 days and on that day my neck started to ache like crazy. The day after I was in pain and had a bad sore throat, still dry coughing. Is this a side effect of the Zantac? Or is this a sign my throat is healing from never having taken this kind of medicine before?

now iam experiencing some weird things for about 3 weeks now. my mouth and throat is excessively dry night and day. i have prickley pin bumps on the roof of mouth and throat . my upper roof of mouth is pale white. iam having difficult in eating now. when i drink water my whole mouth feels prickley. i have went to a ent and he told me to take zantac, for indigestion. iam confused and need help here.

Hello, Chronic sinusitis or chronic allergic rhinitis can lead to the saliva changes making them sticky and thick and hence dry mouth and tongue. A CTscan of the sinuses may help with the diagnosis. If chronic sinusitis is diagnosed, a course of oral antibiotics or steroids can be considered. Are you taking some medicines like diuretics, antihistamines, antidepressants and muscle relaxants? They can also cause dry throat and mouth.

Last summer I developed s dry cough and shortness of breath. In November Doc put me on 40 mg Prilosec one daily and it causes me to feel terrible, anxious etc. we changed to 20mg 2x daily and Zantac 150 1x daily and the cough resolves within a week but I had globus, phlegm, sore throat...typical LPR symptoms. GI doc did an upper endoscopy in January that looked pretty normal with the exception of candida on the 6 areas she biopsies.

I have had a upper GI due to pain in my stomach and they said I have acid reflux in my upper throat area, or something like that. I don't feel the reflux come up into my throat. I took Zantac for a few months and the pain went away. I generally have no symptoms. Lately, I was put on Topamax for my migraine and migraine associated vertigo and a side effect is GI reflux.

Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.

I am 32 weeks and when I am asleep I wake up struggling to breathe and a dry mouth I already take tabs for intergestion from my dr but it doesnt completely stop it.... can anyone help?

Zantac Ranitidine (150mg), antacid zellox-II, Zecuf, antibiotic (cephalexin), paracetamol, and cough syrup. This is when problem occurred. I started to experience soft light yellow stool (very little as i didn't eat much), diarrhea (>3 times, little too) , indigestion, nausea, and bloat. First, I had a dry nose and mouth throughout the entire 48 weeks and also for a month and a half after finishing Tx. At times my mouth was so dry I could not swallow, especially at night. My nose was also dry and crusty inside. Disgusting. Hope you are not eating, LOL. I measured my water and, in order to get the 1 gallon a day (4 liters), I was constantly drinking, day and night. Even without the measuring, I would have been drinking because my mouth was parched and I could not swallow.

Then I started oil pulling bc I looked up dry mouth and throat and some pretty weird things came up. Like sorts of gum disease. Oil pulling helps kill and pull all the toxins out of your mouth. I'm much better now. Still a little dry but I can sleep. I am a 47 year old woman with terrible dry mouth. I have had several tests and the doctor can't find anything in the blood tests. This is miserable! If you feel like you are dehydrated unless you drink that much water that warrants a visit with the doc. I did some research for you and found out that dry mouth can be a symptom of opiate withdrawal. I read that you can suck on ice cubes, chew gum or mints BUT it will pass with time. There is also special toothpaste for those with excessive dry mouth.

t seem to get rid of my thirst. I will drink. Until. My stomach hurts and I still feel dry. I hardly ever drink enough and when I am pregnant I try to drink enough and the way I know I am drinking enough is that I won't be thirsty. I just wish that I did not feel like I am thirsting to death. I even feel light headed and dizzy.
