Common Questions and Answers about Zantac and dizziness

zantac

Avatar f tn Then I took more Zantac, woke up crampy and nauseous, ate some cereal, now I am lightheaded and my stomach hurts and I need to eat something else but I'm afraid to. Could the Zantac be messing with my digestion and making me feel worse?
Avatar f tn It started with heart palpitations and vomiting, then i had abdominal or gas pain. stomach feels uncomfortable after eating.i went to a physician and he prescribed me zantac. i also had my blood checked for a deficiency in anything. results were norma except that i had a UTI infection. now i'm on zantac and an antibiotic. unfortunately i'm struggling with extreme fatigue upon standing, rapid heart rate some coughing and sometimes dizziness. This has been going on for three weeks.
Avatar f tn So its not like ive had it all that time. And some days its gone and other days it gets really annoying. And yes ill continue to let you know how im doing (: Thanks for the help.
Avatar n tn I woke up a couple of months ago with 30 minutes of heart palpitations, and then chest gas followed. Eventually a lot of head pressure followed that, with my ears popping. I had been written up as having GERD symptoms years ago, for other reasons, but I never had connected on and off moments of dizziness with GERD. And this time because of the timing, I thought "Ohhhh, this gas has to do with my heart.
Avatar m tn This whole situation has been pretty scary overall and with the nature of dizziness having no visible symptoms most of my friends and family just either think I'm faking it or "it's all my head". As if either of those answers help. The dizziness is still an every day presence but some of the stomach and digestive problems have definitely improved, which may be in part to a more bland diet i've been on.
Avatar n tn Dizziness and headaches sound like low blood pressure, and stopping the ACE inhibitor seems to reinforce this. However, the beta blocker (toprol) also lowers blood pressure as well as relaxing your heart. Maybe 50mg is just a bit too high. I would speak to your Doctor as soon as you can.
Avatar f tn I take 40 mg of prilosec a day and it works amazing
7349088 tn?1390657733 Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.
3055148 tn?1368211800 I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?
Avatar n tn Prevacid, Nexium, Protonix, Aciphex, Zantac, and Pepcid are all used to treat reflux. You can ask you doctor who will know best which one is least likely to cause you dizzyness.
Avatar m tn I am on currently on antihistamines and zantac and I got a steriod shot a month ago and took prednisone for 6 days all prescribed by an allergist. It is better than it was in the begining but anything I touch (desk, purse strap, clothes) causes me to get welts and then it breaks out into itchy bumps. Benadryl doesn't seem to help but I do sleep well when I take it. Someone mentioned H pylori so I'm wondering if I should see my GP. Thanks for the advice.
Avatar f tn I recently stopped Pepcid due to dizziness and hallucinations, and found that it had also been the cause of unexplained itching and right leg pain (all subsided when I stopped the med). I have had chest pain on Nexium and zantac. Now that I am on the Prilosec, I am having shortness of breath, chest tightness, dizziness, and malaise. Is this serious? If I have H.
1088529 tn?1256844030 I've just started taking zantac, and I don't know if I'll have any side effects, or if my regular symptoms (stomach pain, upset stomach) will become apparent or come back. My question is this; if I get nauseous, stomach pain, upset stomach etc. as a side effect or other, can I take tums to calm my stomach down? Or will it just make things worse? I can't talk to my doctor because (a) don't have an appointment and (b) am too young to drive there or get an appointment myself.
484160 tn?1343397921 After month upon month of frustration, the wife goes and buys hubby some extra strength Zantac and within three hours he was wanting a cheeseburger. When the doctors came in that afternoon I asked them to give it a try. After a bit of condescending attitude on the doctor's part, he said, well, it can't hurt her so if that's what you want we will give it a try. It has now been a week since she was released from the hospital and so far, so good.
10456991 tn?1427890197 The Dr has me on zantac 150 twice a day and it really doesn't help.I need something stronger. I'm waiting to hear back from the Dr to see if she we will put me on something else.
Avatar m tn Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.
Avatar f tn t zantac but it is the same ingredient you drop it in a half cup water and it foams up and you quickly drink it. It is OTC. If zantac is safe this should be too. Thanks so much. Also i read that taking any antacid like tums and rolaids can have a reaction with the prozac. Is this true i was too scared to try Tums.
Avatar n tn She has been taking this medication for one week, and has been experiencing dizziness and nausea. She weighs about 120 lbs. I looked online, and it appears that these are side effects that some patients experience. My question is: would Nexium pose the same problems for her?
Avatar f tn Go pick up zantac 150 or 75 mg. If 75 mg take 1 pill twice daily and then take tums as needed. Zantac should prevent the heartburn but if it doesnt work on occasion take tums (i normally take 4 extra strength tums or 2 ultra strength at a time) I was prescribed zantac 75 mg twice a day with my first baby and told to take tums if for some reason zantac doesnt help so its perfectly safe!
Avatar n tn I have began taking Zantac and it seems to be helping me, though some constipation is occurring, I am not having the bad dizzy spells as much. For someone who is only 24, I have inherited a buttload of problems and it does bother me that I am dependent on so much medication, but I am just striving to live a normal lifestyle. Thanks for the feedback.
Avatar m tn Zantac Ranitidine (150mg), antacid zellox-II, Zecuf, antibiotic (cephalexin), paracetamol, and cough syrup. This is when problem occurred. I started to experience soft light yellow stool (very little as i didn't eat much), diarrhea (>3 times, little too) , indigestion, nausea, and bloat. I started to get worried and didn't take the medicine for the time being. Please advise me what to do now. Thanks in advance.
593603 tn?1229378162 My RE and my OB both said I could take Zantac 150 - - didn't want me to take Pepto Bismol (b/c it has aspirin in it) or Prilosec OTC (it's a category C).
Avatar m tn By taking a medication off prescription and making it OTC the NHS saves money and the pharmaceutical company make more money because presumably more people will by it when they don't need a prescription. The reason you think Rannitidine is less effective is because the placebo effect has been removed. In fact both drugs are equally effective. Otherwise the generic version would not have been licenced.
