zantac

Avatar n tn This is a good thing because long term use does cause bone loss and I m a 65 year old very active female. Last year I broke a bone in my ankle walking on a flat surface so bone loss is an issue for me. For this reason I stopped cold turkey the omepazole and all hell broke loose with reflux, burning stomach, burping and gas.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with acid reflux and gastritis. I was on Zantac for a while and was taking natural supplements. When all this started, I couldn't eat over 600-900 calories a day. I was 230 pounds (I am a 41 year old female) when it started and after two months I got down to 207 pounds. Two weeks ago, most of my pain went away and I started eating normally again and the acid reflux was controlled through diet. I have not lost any more weight.
280369 tn?1316702041 t find a comfortable position to sit in or lay down in, I had trouble breathing, the acid just kept coming up my throat and burned and drinking water just made it worse and I got really nauseous as well. Is it okay to take one when I need it? Can it cause any issues? Is it bad to take it everyday IF I had to? Thankfully so far today I've been okay.
Avatar f tn The surgery worked best on my lower teeth, slowing down the bone loss significantly and rebuilding bone/tooth connection (that's what the gortex is for. That type of surgery is even more advanced now, I think). It didn't have as much success with my more advanced upper teeth. You have to identify all compromised teeth and undergo aggressive treatment (surgery, root planing..), and then take very good care of your teeth and gums for the rest of your life.

Avatar n tn Hello, I am in my early twenties and recently had my upper left premolar extracted and replaced with an implant. I know that bone loss can occur when a tooth is extracted, and the implant is supposed to prevent such bone loss from occurring, but will there be any bone loss at all? I am really concerned because I am so young and don't want my facial appearance to change. Thank you so much.
Avatar f tn The symptoms lasted about an hour she did take Zantac and Tums when it first started but it did not help at all. Anyone have any ideas on what could be the cause as I know something must be wrong but we are at a loss?

Avatar f tn I have periodontitis and consequently have bone loss throughout my mouth. I recently had #15 extracted. Today I went for my one week postoperative checkup. The site had not healed; I am to return in one week. My concern: I don't understand why my dentist didn't do any restorative procedures when he extracted the tooth. He gave me an explaination, but I didn't understand.

I do not have any allergies where I currently live and I do not feel stressed out (even though finals are in a week) The only thing I can think of is something related to mono? 231441 tn?1333892766 Keep in mind that numerous sources have said that conditions for bone loss are not caused by excessive thyroid levels. If bone loss conditions don't exist, then thyroid levels would have no impact. If bone loss conditions already exist, higher metabolism due to increased thyroid levels may increase the rate of bone loss. Effective treatment should be to address the conditions causing bone loss, not by withholding thyroid meds.
Avatar m tn Thyroid hormone does not cause bone loss, it simply increases metabolism and therefore the rate of the current bone formation or loss. Most older women are losing bone due to their combined sex steroid, DHEA, Vitamin D, and growth hormone deficiencies. The solution is not life-long hypothyroidism, but the correction of their other deficiencies. " http://hormonerestoration.com/files/ThyroidPMD.

Avatar n tn My dentist has told me that I have a bite problem an the grinding pressure on my molars has caused bone loss and gum recession. I went to a periodontist a few years ago, and he agreed with the assessment of the bite problem. We discussed braces, but his concern was the the bone loss was such that once moved, the teeth might not set. So we have not done anything other than frequent cleaning, and a night guard.
1088529 tn?1256844030 I've just started taking zantac, and I don't know if I'll have any side effects, or if my regular symptoms (stomach pain, upset stomach) will become apparent or come back. My question is this; if I get nauseous, stomach pain, upset stomach etc. as a side effect or other, can I take tums to calm my stomach down? Or will it just make things worse? I can't talk to my doctor because (a) don't have an appointment and (b) am too young to drive there or get an appointment myself.
484160 tn?1343397921 After month upon month of frustration, the wife goes and buys hubby some extra strength Zantac and within three hours he was wanting a cheeseburger. When the doctors came in that afternoon I asked them to give it a try. After a bit of condescending attitude on the doctor's part, he said, well, it can't hurt her so if that's what you want we will give it a try. It has now been a week since she was released from the hospital and so far, so good.
Avatar f tn I've been having sharp bone pains in every single bone and joint for 7 months now. Sharp pains in my head too. I also get dull aches and dull headaches as well. I've been depressed and don't know if that's relevant or not. Recently.. for the past 3 weeks I've had a persistent low grade fever. Some days it's not there though. I thought it was because of a UTI but the antibotics didn't take it away and then I tried allergy meds and it didn't take it away.
Avatar f tn It is important to diagnose the type of hearing loss. Mixed hearing loss is due to both conductive defect and sensory neural defect. The sensory neural defect lies behind the cochlea, which means in the auditory nerve and the passage of signals to the auditory centers in the brain. Conductive hearing loss can be treated by surgery. So if the conductive component is more than the neuro-sensory component, going for a surgery or wax removal etc may help improve the hearing.
Avatar m tn Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.
Avatar n tn It seems that extended use is supposedly not harmful to the body. I take a 20mg tablet daily and I can function fully and eat and drink absolutely anything as long as I have had the capsule. I soon know about it if I forget to take it! That seldom happens I assure you. My question is: I have at least one bowel movement daily - usually after I get up in the morning. My stools are always loose and certainly smell very bad (so my wife assures me!).
