Do you ever take antacids besides these 2 occasions when you got diarrhea? Because antacids can cause diarrhea and if you are having loose stools and you are asleep, it can leak.

I keep reading about how certain antacids can cause your blood pressure to go up. I have GERD and am experiencing esophagitis again, and I would like to be able to take something for it. Is Zantac75 okay to take with a beta-blocker? And will it increase my blood pressure? I can't seem to find good information anywhere on the internet or even from my endocrinologist. Please help!

t think he would have thought of culturing it at all. Anyway, I have stopped taking Zantac and Antacids for almost two days now right after i sufferred yellow stool and diarrhea. I noticed that my stool has returned to normal coloration. However, I'm still having diarrhea today (third day) especially in the morning. I'm still taking the antibiotic by the way. Hopefully the diarrhea will subside soon.

If u are anemic and taking iron supplements then don't take any antacids without your doctors prescription. If not antacids would help heartburn. I'm suffering from that too and bloated as well.

Other options may be Try milk or any anticids containg calcium or magnesium but avoid antacids that contain aluminum because it can cause constipation and be toxic at high doses. Keep your head elevated at night. Try to figure out what triggers heartburn. Also ginger ( ginger ale or ginger candy) If antacid isn't working you might want to consider something stronger, but talk to your doctor before you for that. For instance tagamet or Zantac. I have terrible heart burn which makes me want to throw up big time! Get some tums or antacids like zantac and see if that helps. I also get sick if I eat too much since baby is push in my stomach up, maybe that too? Try eating smaller meals!

Tums and Zantac for sure. If I drink milk and try to fall asleep (I always get heartburn in the middle of the night or as soon as I lie down) I end up waking up choking on acid reflux. Also, mint flavored liquid Maalox works wonders and it's fast. The consistency can just be a little harder to stomach lol.

You can take Zantac 150 if tums is not working for you. I have checked with two different doctors and even a pharmacist.. Zantac 150 is safe to take.

My boyfriend went to the hospital with severe lower abdominal pain, they did blood test, urine test, and xray and found nothing. He has had painful diarreah for the past week and a half and twisting like pain than comes in waves and sometimes comes from the upper abdomen. After every meal he has abdominal pain and diarreah and has been been feeling weak and tired.

You can talk to your doc. I am taking 75 mg of zantac twice a day.....and be warned.....it only gets worse as you get further along....

I am using Zantac 75mg twice a day, and if it's really bad will do 150mg twice a day instead.

You can take tums or I use zantac and it works great.

Medication wise, my doctor said that Zantac is ok to take?? Or you can get something prescribed. I just drink milk and a table spoon of sour cream when I get indigestion. Eating a yogurt a day helps digestion regular with the good bacteria cultures. Good luck hun.

Hi Jim. Thanks for replying. I can't take aspirin or ibuphophren (sp?) because I have ITP which is a platelet disorder. So I'm stuck with tylenol anyway. How about Pepcid AC or Zantac OTC? I had my husband's lasagna last night and the acid didn't agree with me. Although the lasagna was delicious. I didn't have anything except for Tums and had read that it wasn't good with tx. So I suffered through it. I just want to get something to have in the cabinet...just in case.

Try Pepcid AC or Prilosec..both are over the counter antacids and are safe for you and baby.

Ummm probably not, but I wouldn't do it again. Try taking Zantac, Its a miracle worker for me, and I have heartburn so bad it wakes me up and I feel like I gotta throw up. So try Zantac.

Try drinking milk before bed and less fried foods if you haven't already!!! Sorry your dealing with this not fun I had it to but not to that extent since I changed my eating habits. Good Luck.

when mine gets really bad and zantac isnt working i drink 6oz of milk and its totally helps!

I'm 31 weeks and geez at this heartburn!!. It hurts from my tummy to my ears! I'm popping antacids like crazy and nothing is helping, it's making me sick to my stomach and my stomach has started cramping. Is there any home remedy or wives tale that y'all have tried that works?

t imagine drinking that my husband does though he has bad heartburn but most over the counter antacids are safe during pregnancy as long as you use only as directed tums,and zantac are a few if your symptoms are more severe then normal you should take to your doctor about getting a prescription

be careful of antacids, they can cause constipation if you take too many.

I have been taking a lot of antacids Zantac and Gaviscon dual action to try to selttle my stomach spasms and pain etc as I described in my post above. I made and ate an omelet with potatoes, carrots and herbs in it a few days ago and got so ill during the night I wanted to kill myself. I took Gaviscon dual action, Zantac and valium which usually helps it, and after three days it had receded to just the 'normal' discomfort.

I tried GasX it doesnt help much. but I'm ok now after 2 days of burping.

s common with pregnancy. Take some antacids. Zantac, nexium, prilosec all work for 24 hrs. Try drinking some milk for some relief.

Taperbird,Go to the store and get some candied ginger.Eat as much as you want.It will numb your stomach and help alot without causing antacid weirdness.This is one herbal remedy that really seems to work for me.
