Avatar f tn Its Better to have Laser and make your review as suggested by your Ophthalmologist , No need to be panic , if you have regular follow up with your ophthalmologist as he suggested it can be taken care .
Avatar m tn You need to see an eye MD ophthalmologist perhaps the one that did the laser treatment. Need to rule out retinal detachment or tears.

Avatar n tn To protect you sight, the surgery seems necessary. I lost 80% vision in left eye, so they have lasered my right eye 3-4 times, to protect it. I suggested it to my doctor because, as I told him, I will need my right eye.
Avatar n tn put the gas bubble in and next day did laser surgery. I have had severe pain in my eye since then. Dr. insists that the pain must be nerve damage. Nothing she can do. can you?

Avatar n tn Thank you for your comments and advice. I reviewed the article and found it very interesting but the accomodation issue is a bit different from my case at this stage. Nevertheless, I always look forward to learning any information that might "shed light"...great site!

Avatar f tn com/meditec/en_de/products---solutions/ophthalmology-optometry/cornea-refractive/laser-treatment/femtosecond-laser-solutions/relex.html) developed by Zeiss. The surgical intervention is flapless and consists in removing a lenticular portion inside the cornea (in contrast to femto lasik and lasik that cut a flap and use the Excimer laser afterwards). The surgery can remove at most 10 spherical D and 5 cylindrical D of myopia, if the cornea permits. It also works for hyperopia.

Avatar n tn I have had three surgeries on my left eye (SLT, filtration, and then lazer cutting of filtration sutures to keep pressures low.), by a well known glaucoma specialist. After each surgery, my vitreous became 'looser' and more floaters erupted. Before each surgery, I asked the surgeon if the procedures would cause vitreous excitation, and each time he said no. Well, not so.
Avatar m tn m not sure I know how to locate posts on items of interest. As an example, I posted a thread in the Eye Care community forum entitled "Argon Laser Pupilloplasty", but when I attempt to search for this exact phrase, the post does not come up. I know it's there because I can find it when I review my personal posts, but I can't find it using the search feature. Help anybody?
Avatar m tn Please use the search feature, review eye topics and use the archives to look at the extensive discussions of treatment of dry eyes. You should consider tear duct plugs and going on Restasis. If you would be happier in Florida than Pennsylvania then I would go ahead and move.
Avatar f tn Hello, My husband has had 5 surgeries for retinal detachment and partial detachment, and also 1 cataract surgery. The doctor has tried laser surgery, applying a buckle, and adding oil to hold the retina in place in various operations. The doctor said that my husband could try surgery again using the gas bubble and have this surgery at a lower altitude and recuperate at the lower altitude.
Avatar f tn m 38, have worn glasses for 30 years, have -6 and -8 eyes and was diagnosed with one small tear in each eye one week ago today. Saw the opthalmologist on Monday, had the tears lasered that day. I now have two blind spots in the bottom right part of my visual field (one blind spot for each eye). My questions are: what is my chance of having another retinal tear? any chance these blind spots will resolve over the next few days?
Avatar n tn It sounds like you might have some hemosiderin staining--i.e., your skin has been stained by your blood. I had that problem following eye surgery. In some cases, this type of staining can be permanent--but don't worry, I have a solution for you. Google "candela laser" to find the company's website. You'll find a small-scale study in which the AlexTriVantage laser successfully removed "permanent" hemosiderin stains.
Avatar m tn And most importantly - what should I do - apart from checkups every 6 months? If I decide on a preventive laser - and if it is successful - is there still a restriction on lifting heavy objects (households) say the car battery, changing a tire or the like? Please, if there is anyone who has done laser for PVD - let me know about the result of this treatment.
Avatar m tn I had cataract surgery in my left eye on July 14, 2009. Due do capsular wrinkling, I had a YAG laser capsulotomy on August 5, 2009. I had pronounced glare at night, so on November 5, 2009, I had a second capsulotomy (the YAG opening was enlarged). The glare condition has not improved (today is November 8, 2009). Can anyone suggest how long it takes for an improvement in the glare condition to be noticeable?
Avatar f tn Good to hear.
