187316 tn?1386356682 I know excercise is a no no but I have been doing yoga since before I was pregnant and during my pregnancy. Not pregnancy yoga but regular yoga. I have a class tomorrow for an hour and was just going to go to it but then I got to thinking. Could it be dangerous? My daughter will be exactly one week old and I have two stitches in my whoo-ha. Do you think it could rip them even if I took it easy? Also do you think it will mess with my milk supply?
Avatar f tn Ur body starts to produce a chemical called relaxin to soften joints so the baby can pass through. Some stretching will help. I do some yoga pregnancy poses-warrior pose, pigeon etc.
Avatar f tn I really think the yoga would help your back too. Have you tried a yoga program? Talk to a yoga instructor. She should be able to let you know what is safe for you & what isn't. Good luck with the smoking!
Avatar f tn I'm really confused with what I can do to work out. I used to do hot yoga but have switched to the warm room instead. I'm confused now as to being on my back for part of the class. Everything I read says yoga is safe but not to be on your back.(?) The prenatal class doesn't start until March. Will I know if I've been on my back too long?
Avatar f tn com you can most all the exercises, please do modified poses for inverted poses, back bends if you are not flexible and do not strain yourself in the poses work within your limitations, etc.. and also do not do the last pose Uddiyana-Banda- this is a deep contraction of the stomach i read that its best to not do this pose during Lupron phase and stimulation phase because it's effects on abdominal region. The meditation is excellent - keep with it! I'm doing that as well..
Avatar f tn I am pregnant with my first child. I'm young so it is a bit scary. I heard yoga is good for you to do while being pregnant but my boyfriend says it's not true. So does it help? I'm 21 and 7 weeks and 3 days.
362249 tn?1441315018 I think you are on the right track...I started to get sick in 08...I am not really a sickly person. But I got the flu twice, fainted and got hurt pretty bad in church, had to have minor sugergy on my underarms as I picked up some weird bacteria while out of the country on vacation, etc...08 was not a great year for me...Nonetheless, mid 08, ny dh wanted for us to start ttc again so we made an appt and went to see my RE. He hit the nail on the head...

Avatar f tn I have been trying to do some exercises since I hear that exercise tends to lighten up nausea/morning sickness. My stomach has been feeling sore (muscle wise -- like after an ab workout) I normally like to do bridges (lay on back then raise self up so only feel and hands are on the floor, stomach is in air) to relieve this type of pain, is it okay to do this during the first trimester?
Avatar f tn Been doing yoga my whole pregnancy. And other exercises. I'm 33 weeks tomorrow. Baby is 4.5 pounds and I've gained 9.5 pounds total. I do yoga 2x to 3x a week. I do regular vinyasa flow yoga and I'm amazed at my body. Baby loves yoga too...
Avatar f tn So officials are filming hundreds of yoga poses and translating ancient Sanscrit texts. They plan to send the results to patent offices around the world next month, the Washington Post reports. It's an outgrowth of a project called the Traditional Knowledge Digital Library, which was originally created to fight patents on traditional Indian medicine — like turmeric for wound healing, which received a U.S. patent that was later withdrawn after India objected.
Avatar f tn I try and I do some of the poses and stretches buuut I don't know if it's because my uterus is getting bigger and is sitting right on that nerve but it hurts terribly. I mainly try the poses that pull my uterus off my spine (momentarily of course) but I'm just scared that I might be doing a pose unsafely... That's why I do the class... She modifies poses based on our individual week. My husband massages the area sometimes too.
Avatar n tn Congrats on your baby! What kind of yoga do you do? I'm into yoga, but IDK where to start in terms of a daily circuit. Any suggestions? I love the butterfly pose or unless I'm calling it thr wrong thing, the pose where you squat with your legs spread as wide as possible. I have a retroverted uterus & my baby was pressing on my tailbone something serious. That IMMEDIATELY stopped the pain so I would love a full body stretch that I can do to avoid further aches.
Avatar f tn I had the same pain early on whilst working and stopped waitressing due to it..now its so sore and its a struggle to do things..does anybody know what this is or if im doing something wrong?!
10683890 tn?1412893806 Hi guys, I just wanted to share that yoga has been helping me tremendously to manage cravings and anxiety while I taper. It's a great distraction and helps to shift me into a calmer and healthier mindset. I can't always get to classes so a lot of times I just do yoga at home with dvd's. There are a couple of great ones for beginners I wanted to recommend.
Avatar m tn Can twisting the torso and holding it as in some yoga poses cause damage to the pylorus or any other organ that might result in gastroparesis? Also, has anyone been able to control gastroparesis by chewing longer to more thoroughly pulverize food?

1695915 tn?1306508774 Have you ever tried yoga? There are poses for nearly every capability. I recently ordered a dvd that's done sitting in a chair. Yoga is very calming and relaxing. You might give it a try. As I said before, anything that sounds too good to be true, probably is.
382218 tn?1341181487 Very cool! I need to increase my exercise - lately, I've been doing two 60 minute Yoga practices, and I've been lucky to get one 90 minute bike ride in per week. I'm a little surprised they don't discuss Yoga as a weight training modality, especially the standing poses, and arm balances (Crow, Crane, Peacock, etc.) Yoga can be quite intense, depending on ability and poses attempted.
