2003871 tn?1336168469 If you have reoccurring yeast infections that can be a sign of diabetes, however yeast infections can easily occur without diabetes. So, get tested for glucose blood levels but you might want to talk to your dr about other causes.
Avatar m tn Recurrent urinary tract infections should have alerted your doctors to the possibility of havng diabetes (it's a common symptom of diabetes), especially since they happened after having too much sugar. Recurrent yeast infections (skin, vaginal, urinary) are also common in diabetics. I would get tested for diabetes. Because you may be taking care of the symptoms rather than the problem. Regarding the sugar issue....yeast thrives with moisture and with sugar.
Avatar f tn Repeat infections that occur immediately following treatment, or a persistent yeast infection that does not respond to treatment, may be the first or, at least, an early sign that an individual is infected with HIV. this is wht is written on dis site...im so paranoid.please help!
Avatar f tn Some antibotics can cause yeast infections in females not sure if its the same for guys.. And I'm pretty sure if you have a yeast infection you can past it to a male during unprotected sex, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Avatar f tn I had a yeast infection with my second child due to gestational diabetes my Dr just gave me ointment.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had multiple yeast/BV infections? I've had 3 so far and I think I'm having another! I'm going to ob tomorrow and I'm sure I'll get some meds. It's frustrating. Anyone Else?!?! Please help.
Avatar f tn I've heard you can take monistat for a yeast infection. But I would talk to your doctor first. Treatment for a yeast is different than bacterial, and you should make sure you don't have any other complications before starting something.
Avatar f tn Your hormones are different and your immune system is weakened from pregnancy. I've had 2 thrush infections and treatment hasn't kept it away. Thrush is a oral yeast infection.
Avatar n tn My mom had recurring yeast infections as a child, which I just recently found out about, and was diagnosed two years ago with diabetes. I have had my blood checked often for my blood sugar levels, so I know that diabetes is not a factor right now. Thanks for the help in advance. This is driving me crazy!
Avatar f tn If your getting yeast infections it means your sugars are very high and not controlled.
Avatar n tn m 15 weeks 3 days I just finish antibiotics for Bacteria Vaginosis and now I have an yeast infection.. My doctor told me to do the Monistat 7 treatment. Has anybody ever used this or had an yeast infection during pregnancy? Can it cause preterm labor?
Avatar f tn I agree with Lulu, if you are taking a lot of antibiotics, then that can cause lots of yeast infections. Diabetes can cause alot of yeast infections as well as pregnancy. When I was pregnant with my son I was a "walking yeast infection", lol I know that sounds funny but I had a yeast infection almost the entire time I was pregnant with him but I also had gestational diabetes which attributted to it. Hope you find and answer to what is causing yours.
Avatar m tn I get yeast infections all the time but she might want to check for trich as well. Not to put you down for possibly giving it to her, men can have it and never know. If she has it you need to get treated as well (even if it doesn't show up in your test there are many false negatives for men). I have it, took months to find because it was never under the microscope and I thought I was OK because I always use protection and have only been with two men in my whole life.
Avatar f tn //www.webmd.com/diabetes/diabetes-thrush I would try to cut down on sugar in your diet if you haven't already, do the things necessary to deter developing full diabetes (manage diet, exercise, etc.) which should also help with multiple yeast infections. I'm sure this is very frustrating for you. There are other reasons for chronic yeast infections too. Talk to your doctor. https://www.healthline.
Avatar f tn Has anyone experienced yeast infections during their pregnancy? I never had one but iv had like three since I got pregnant. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn Hi, It is possible for a man to contract a genital yeast infection if he has unprotected sexual contact with a partner who has a genital yeast infection. However, sexual transmission of yeast infections is uncommon. In men, prolonged antibiotic use, presence of diabetes or impaired immune systems increases the risk of a yeast infection. Signs and symptoms of a male yeast infection include a reddish rash, and itching or burning at the tip of the penis.
6014380 tn?1378523315 What exactly can you do if you have been seen and been treated for yeast infections and no antibiotics oral or suppository has worked to get rid of it? I have had this issues close to two years and doctors seem to be blowing me off about it when I know there has to be a underlining cause for this please help this is literally killing me.
Avatar f tn I am diabetic and I am prone to yeast infections so I had to ask in case. They told me pro b for prevention and Monistat 1 not the 1 day but 3 or 7 and do not insert more than an inch. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Since having my hysterectomy I have recurrent yeast infections (which has been verified via gyno) Before my hysterectomy I had 2 yeast infections my whole life. From what I've read it seems to be a common issue among women who've had a hysterectomy. I guess I'm curious as to what the causes could be. I had read that the ovaries stop functioning properly more quickly after a hysterectomy and he said no. He also recommended douching with baking soda.
Avatar f tn The fact that your partner has diabetes makes thrush so much more likely, yeast infections love sugar and tip the ph balance! Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn There may be a slightly increased occurrence in the groups you mention, but the main risk factor is repeated treatment for yeast infections due to C. albicans; the antibiotic treatment tends to select resistant yeasts, and glabrata is the most common of them. C. albicans, glabrata, and sometimes other species are normal inhabitants of the lower intestinal tract, vagina, and/or skin. They are there all the time.
