Yeast infections kefir

Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infections kefir

yeast-infection

this is not so much a question but some info i'd like to share if you think you have a yeast infection or other vaginal infection. i started replacing my morning cereal milk with KEFIR yogurt. it has 12 strains of 'good bacteria'. one week after switching i developed severe vaginal itching followed by a milky white discharge. i went to my doctor and she did not examine me but said i probably have a yeast infection as i had used antibiotics about 6 weeks prior.
Eating yogurt is said to help reduce this, but the main thing that women are never told is that men can be carriers and yes you can get a yeast infection in the mouth. Chronic yeast infections warrant your partner to be checked. There is medication that can be given to them as well.
I have no idea about the Monistat timeline, but I know probiotics help with yeast infections. There is a yogurt drink out there called kefir, and I have used it every time my boys took antibiotics. Hope things clear up fast!
also, does anyone know if penicillin causes yeast infections?? I thought I read that it did, because it is a yeast itself and disrupts the balance. I'm just finishing up a week's worth of penicillin and have noticed an extreme dryness.
Also, are you on the pill, by any chance? Or diabetic? Either of those can cause frequent yeast infections. But most of all, did your doctor actually diagnose you in person with a yeast infection, or just call something in for you over the phone? If the latter, I'd make an appt to be seen. You may either have a different strain of yeast, or another type of infection.
What a timely post as I just asked posted something on this forum about Candida (yeast overgrowth). I have had a history of vaginal yeast infections. I suspect I still have an overgrowth of yeast due to the presence of other symptoms such as a strange scalp condition, acne, and low grade vaginal issues (redness and discharge without the severe itch). I've been doing some research and I will likely have to change my diet again. I crave sweet and salty, but have reduced my intake somewhat.
about 3 weeks ago I took a full bloodwork and urine test for all diseases...came back all negative...she is proan to yeast infections and we have both just started to become itchy ...my penis is dry and chaffed with red shinny skin on the shaft and scrotum...on the top of the shaft is a small section of lil bumps...I just used monistat with white vinager for 2 days it seems to be workin very well but is still dry and sometimes itchy...
I took 3 day Monistat and the symptoms went from urgency/frequency of urination to just urethral burning. I then became convinced I had an overgrowth of candida in my system (I have had yeast infections countless times since my teens, not to mention BV, my tongue is always white and furry, I cough up small white chunks sometimes and often have a bad taste in my mouth) so I convinced the clinic doc to give me Diflucan. She gave me one pill which helped, but it wasn't enough.
I plan to take a lot of yogurt and avoid yeast feeding diet to control it. What else can I do? Is kefir milk OK to take during pregnancy? This is my first and everything freaks me out...pl advise.
This same disorder has been linked with a number of problems seemingly unrelated, including chronic indigestion, bloating, gas, alternating constipation and diarrhea, yeast infections, jock-like itches and other skin rashes, gingivitis, halitosis (bad breath), bladder infections, immune problems and even cancer, especially of the colon and breast. Your body needs bacteria, especially good types.
As of today I haven't one anything but take the acidophilus orally and I have no smell, no itch, no yeast infections. I'm not sure if the pain during sex is gone yet bc I haven't had sex yet but I'll update you when I do. I plan to continue though for a month just to make sure but I'm sure its already gone:).
Garlic also fights yeast overgrowth, and Kefir and coconut oil too, so I read. I also take Coconut oil daily as well as homemade Kefir daily. -------------------------------------------------- To your questions: 1. How do I know that treatment is actually working? Mainly, you'll know by blood tests the doc will do. How soon you *feel* better depends on several things like how run down you were when treatment started, and whether you have co-infections that the doc may have tested for.

Antibiotics, while killing out an offender, also kills out the good bacteria. This can bring on yeast infections as well as other digestive woes. "biotic" means life. Antibiotics are anti-life; pro-biotics are pro-life. Kefir is a probiotic. This is why there are those newer types of yogurt with a few more "live" cultures; it helps to restore balance from diarrhea-producing bacteria. It also helps eliviate symptoms of constipation as well.
I have felt into your concern and this feels like a fungal, yeast, thrush and is common. 1) Go out and get virgin coconut oil. Apply it to all areas that are itching, and you can do this as much as you wish. Coconut oil is an anti-bacterial and helps kill yeasts and clear infections, but above all it will soothe your skin. I feel you will notice a difference immediately. 2) Please take probiots - Kefir is actually found at your local grocery store and is highly recommended.

When they tested for H.Pylori did they check your yeast levels too? Its the test for S.cerevisiae. there are 2. the IGA and IGG. Those being high doesnt say for sure if you have candida overgrowth, but if those levels arent high then you for sure dont have candida. What other symptoms? stomach bloating alot? white tongue? acid reflux? To get rid of Candida overgrowth is a pain in the ***.
(not) I took a boatload of antifungal meds to get rid of it, and it's mostly gone for good except for one nasal sinus that seems to be a hiding place (dark and warm) for the yeast. Others here have mentioned Yeast-Cleanse, and I take it too -- it's herbal and I find works pretty well. I haven't gotten real serious about upping the dose (as the label recommends) to see if I can get rid of the yeast for good, but am thinking about it. Just don't have time for any side effects at the moment.
As to you're taking forever to heal, heal from what? And as to yeast infections, that's a different immune system problem than not healing. Yeast infections can only occur if the beneficial flora that live in your system aren't home, providing space for candida to move in. No space, no candida. So the first question is whether you've taken antibiotics or pharmaceutical antifungals. If so, they killed off your beneficial flora and that provided the space for yeast to find a nice cozy home.
Things became even worse during lyme treatment I had an irregular heart rythm along with a strong beat that felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest, insulin resistance, low blood pressure, and low blood sugar (reactive hypoglycemia), headaches, severe migraines, neck tightness, joint pain, severe muscle pain, eye dryness, severe light sensitivity, burning skin on hands and feet, skin dryness, puffy eyes, water retention, all over body nerve pain, terrible feet pain, calf pain, h
Diff (I get blotchy skin on my stomach when i consume dairy now) otherwise I would down Kefir like no tomorrow. Please help! I want this yeast to stay away, but it appears to be extremely resistant.
When there is too much they create a hyper acidic environment by releasing lactic acid and hydrogen peroxide by products and closely mimic the symptoms of a yeast infection with out evidence of yeast. The cure, while counter intuitive, is a baking soda and water douche to introduce alkalinity back to the vagina. There are many suggestions on frequency and mixture but I found a combination of approaches worked best. First- no tampons.
I had BV in my last pregnancy and although I knew soemthing was wrong, the doctor kept prescribing me treatments for yeast infections. When my BV coupled with a UTI I ended up giving birth 11 weeks early to a 3 pound baby boy (He is super healthy and happy now thank God!!). I would like to warn EVERYONE that if your intuition is telling you something is wrong, ACT on it!
You can get this with ticks, just like other co-infections. Research for rheumatoid arthritis discovered that many patients had mycoplasma. They feel this is what starts the body to develop rheumatoid arthritis. I have also read that it can be treated with doxycycline long term. I have had some success with the low dose of doxycycline and I alos have chronic lyme for at least 12 years. I even go through some pretty bad herxing with a low dose of doxy.
terminated early due to edema) -- [drug holiday -- 2 months] -- azithromycin and metronidazole -- 5 months (terminated due to systemic fungal infection from yeast-based probiotics intended to *prevent* fungal infection -- but yeast is a fungus, and it colonized my body) It took me a long time to stabilize and get rid of the fungal infection, and at that point was too worn out to go back on meds. Note that I was never on doxycycline.
I wondered b4 about the theory of overgrowth of yeast, because of recurrent vaginal yeast infections. Everytime I take an antibiotic, Id get one, and now get them without takin them. Valerie Saxion on TBN got me to thinkin that maybe this could be my prob also.Since u know abt Don Colbert, I assume u know abt her also. I cant eat most fruits & vegetables, becuz it causes so much pain & gas. I dont drink milk 4 this reason.
A hallmark of this bacteria is a bad smell, after your period or after sex. Sometimes a doc will simply check you for yeast infections and pronounce you free of all of those, and won't check for BV. (It's bad to ignore it.) I wouldn't be taking anything long term without checking with your gyno, in any case.
It's a little bit out of context, but have you ever looked at Kefir? Lifeway Kefir has about 10 active probiotic cultures that is way more than what anybody can buy in a dry form. Cost is also way lower - $3.99 per bottle. It is sold at most chain Supermarkets and Walmart.
Just a little salty or mildly sour but not bad. I then began developing a yeast infection. I've only ever had two yeast infections and both times were after coming off antibiotics. After treating my yeast infection and getting back to "normal" (no more itch or burning or abnormal discharge caused by yeast infection) my strong bitter/sour flavor returned. I'm 25, very healthy, work out a ton, am in good shape, no known health problems, I eat a decent diet and drink lots of water.
A Week after I had unprotected sex I started itching really bad and have this yellow/green discharge, all my test for std's came out negative, then they did further testing and it came back that I have strep B, The itchiness is terrible! they have tried to give me augmentin and also had me douche with augementin , I ve tried flagy and levaquin, none of them worked.
