A yeast infection usually starts in the vagina and may involve the urethra. If the condition is right , the infection may ascend to the bladder and ureters. However for UTI, bacterial infections are more likely.

HI, I have been suffering from recurrent episodes of yeast infections for over a year now. I noticed a few months ago, a vertical line of flesh colored bumps (they almost look like a reptilian back!) between my clitoris and urethra. They dont hurt per se but they are very sensitive to the touch and very uncomfortable to the touch as well.
The doctor can also do a urine dip stick at the surgery appointment and this would show if you had any blood and any infections in the urine.
If you have a few weeks to see your urologist, book an urgent appointment to see your doctor. Take a morning urine specimen in a clean (preferably sterile) jar, or do a urine sample at the surgery. The doctor can still check your urine and prescribe an antibiotic for you if this is needed.
t think it was an std, he also suggested that it might be yeast. But unlike a lot of photos of male yeast infections online that i've seen, in my case the glans has no redness. all the pain is centered in the urethra. I've been trying to coax some of the anti-fungal cream the doc gave me down my urethra and it sometimes causes burning when i do. also i tried the spit in a glass test today and my spit didn't dissolve, suggesting yeast infection.

Have really bad burning in urethra.. 1 to 10 on pain its between 4 and 7... only in the urethra.. have had redness on penis and balls which was thought to be yeast.. it was not..as i did the cream i was given and no help at all.... went to Urologist and he assumed it was clamidia and gave me antibiotics... even though i had already taken cipro, leviquin, docsacylin, and now azythromycin....i have pain and burning that comes and goes throughout the day.. morning is great afternoon is bad...
My wife has had many yeast infections and we never gave it another thought when it came to sex. She has gone to the doctor, received medication and inevitably it goes away. I on the other hand have had discomfort in the perennial region just behind the scrotum. I get relief by standing and when going to sleep. The discomfort seems to flair every now and then and the urethra seems irritated only after ejaculation not urinating. I am uncircumcised.
More than its a yeast infection the same thing happened to me with the infection then yeast infection it was really itchy.
Has anyone had multiple yeast/BV infections? I've had 3 so far and I think I'm having another! I'm going to ob tomorrow and I'm sure I'll get some meds. It's frustrating. Anyone Else?!?! Please help.
Monistat works like a charm for yeast infections! That's what my doctor told me I could take. Just over the counter. He recommended the 7-day treatment. Baby is protected by the bubble she's in, so the medication does not get to him/her. Perfectly safe! Unless as previously said, you have any other complications. I would talk to your doctor before you do anything. And like they said, anti biotics are needed for a bacterial infection. Good luck!
did you ever give thought to my question about a yeast infection. I know yeast infections in men are rare, but I have read online of yeast infections causing some of the things i have described, and I am curious if you have ever heard of anything like that yourself. Thanks again.
BV can cause itchiness too, but a lot of cottage cheese like discharge sounds more like yeast infection. Yeast infections can cause small red bumps or redness if left untreated. Try the over the counter stuff first like how you are doing, and then go to the doctor if it doesn’t clear up to narrow it down to what type of infection it might be.
But to my surprise the burning sensation came back within 2 days while taking Doxy and it continued, on 10th day of exposure I opened the urethra and found White lesions in urethra (in the urethra opening) urethra top and bottom, got panicked and went to my GP got the swab test for Herpes - came back negative. after 12 weeks of exposure IGG blood test was negative for HSV1 and HSV2.
You have a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection), yet you want to use Monistat 7? Monistat is for yeast infections, where the bacteria/yeast balance in the vagina has become diarupted and yeast has overgrown. If you have a UTI, that is a bacterial overgrowth in your urethra/bladder. Sometimes after treating a UTI with antibiotics, it can sometimes overkill the good bacteria and then cause a Yeast infection, and thus later warrant a need for Monistat.
then later itchiness and i knew a yeast infection was setting in because we had a lot of dry sex and i always get yeast infections after dry sex. so anyway i chug water for my uti and buy monistat 1 for the yeast infection. had a horrible reaction. swelling, pain, itchiness, redness and my left labia was much more swollen than my right! now that the swelling went down i decided to check it out down there, thats when i noticed a firm bump that itches and is sore.

Douching upsets the natural balance of bacteria and yeast in your vagina and will cause infections.

3. Use condoms if you have sex. You CAN give a yeast infection to a guy (they usually get no symptoms) and then he will just keep passing it back to you.
4. Eat yogurt with live cultures in it - sugar free is best, but any kind helps.
