Yeast infections in the stomach

Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infections in the stomach

yeast-infection

Avatar n tn Usually problems with yeast arise after antibiotic use. Yeast doesn't live in the stomach, but in the digestive track. The most common one being candida. Digestive bacteria keep yeast populations down. Antibiotics kill all bacteria in your system, even the beneficial, digestive bacteria allowing for an overgrowth of the yeast (yest infections of various sorts). For this reason it is recommended that you eat a lot of live culture yogurt when taking an antibiotic.
Avatar f tn I have been having complications with yeast infections, someone suggested taking a natural supplemental probiotic, since I can't stomach yogurt, has anyone ever done so while pregnant? I've read online and can't seem to get a straight answer.

Avatar m tn could be a sebaceous cyst, a lipoma or lymph nodes. They could also be herpes infections, cysts, yeast infections and infected hair follicles. If there is accompanying swelling, redness, discharge and fever it is most probably an infection. You may need to consult your primary care physician who will examine you and initiate appropriate therapy. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I sleep all day with no energy to do absolutely anything and cannot digest food properly my stomach looks like I am 7months pregnant. I am now having severe knee pain in the cold mornings and upon getting up out of bed. I have tried to walk to loose weight and can't due to the knee pains that feel like sharp nerve pain I also have this same pain in my wrist on and off.

Avatar f tn My nurse practitioner said there are 4 types of yeast and that the usual meds only treat the most common 2 types so she did a swab test to find out what type of yeast it is. I find out Thursday so I'll keep you posted.
Avatar f tn Monistat works like a charm for yeast infections! That's what my doctor told me I could take. Just over the counter. He recommended the 7-day treatment. Baby is protected by the bubble she's in, so the medication does not get to him/her. Perfectly safe! Unless as previously said, you have any other complications. I would talk to your doctor before you do anything. And like they said, anti biotics are needed for a bacterial infection. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Mine seems to have been constant I ft a uti and the antibiotics cause a yeast infection it's been non stop the whole pregnancy
Avatar f tn When my hemoglobin and ferritin levels were low I had this problem. As soon as I began iron supplements and my levels increased the yeast infections went away. I haven't had one in appx 9 months. Yea! The yeast in my body was so bad I had yeast in my mouth. I didn't not know this could/is an indicator of anemia. terry PS Prior to that I was doing like you, diflucan, probiotics, anything I thought might help.
Avatar f tn Douching upsets the natural balance of bacteria and yeast in your vagina and will cause infections. 2. Avoid bread and sugary foods as much as possible. If there is yeast in your vagina it is in the rest of your body too and sugar will just feed it. 3. Use condoms if you have sex. You CAN give a yeast infection to a guy (they usually get no symptoms) and then he will just keep passing it back to you. 4. Eat yogurt with live cultures in it - sugar free is best, but any kind helps. 5.
Avatar m tn On April 14th I had unprotected intercourse with another woman. The days passed and I did not think much of this encounter until a couple of weeks after the event a rash appeared on my penis. I went to a GP on May 14th and took a blood test. The doctor thought it was herpes. A couple of days after my blood test I developed a sore throat, then a runny nose, then a slight fever with fatigue. I diagnosed this as a cold and did not think much of it.
1168718 tn?1464983535 From what I have learnt, all yeast infections begin in the gut, so to get to the root cause of the problem you need to take a pro-biotic to redress the imbalance. I tried this once and, lo and behold , it WORKED! So while smearing cream on your nether regions may seem logical, it doesn't fix the root of the problem. Fix the gut, and the rest will sort itself out.
Avatar n tn t happen all the times but most times when I am dry. I am 32 years old and he is 49 I have went to the doctor and I keep getting yeast infections. I use the over the counter meds fr it and sometimes the doctor prescribes me creams but it keeps coming back. Is it coming back because I gave it to him and he brings it back to me each time? He is a diabetic and is uncircumcized but he is very clean and has good hygienes in that department.
Avatar f tn Both times I got the vagistat 3 day treatment. Also eat yogurt because the bacteria in yogurt is the good bacteria found in the vagina that eats the yeast. When that bacteria is killed off, by anti bacterials or for other reasons, it allows the over growth of yeast. I got a yeast infection last years when trying to fight a sinus infection.
Avatar f tn Im 6 months pregnant and I have never had this many yeast infections in my life. I only bathe with dial soap and the doctor said I shouldnt take baths, nothing but showers. Can anybody help me with some remedies or something to help with the yeast infections ??
Avatar f tn m in my first trimester and pregnancy is already making me experience the wonderful world of yeast infections. I went to the doctor to make sure it is indeed a yeast infection and it is. He didn't prescribe me anything because he said it's too early and to wait until the second trimester, but I've heard of natural remedies, such as the garlic clove in the vagina that cures yeast infections. Has anyone tried this during pregnancy? Is it safe?
Avatar f tn It's very common in pregnancy. The 7 day treatment is the best and preferred method for pregnant women.
Avatar f tn I got treated for the infection and took the pills that the doctor provide yet the problem is still here. I continuously have a really bad odor in my vagina but its not discharge more like water. Does anyone know what is wrong with me. Its highly embarrassing. When i do have discharge its white sometimes a mild yellow. If anyone knows what is wrong please help. The smell is like a rotten smell.
Avatar n tn You should also give your husband a good probiotic and help him really keep his sugar in check. The less yeast he has the less yeast you will have. Also, I find that during the week before my period starts I am much more prone to yeast infections and of course if I eat a lot of sugar or drink several glasses (sometimes just 1) of wine. It takes a lot of monitoring! Good luck!
Avatar n tn t know which country you live in, but in the UK you can Canesten, Canesten HC and Trimovate. Some you can buy over the counter, other medications can only be prescribed by the doctor. If you are sexually active, make sure your partner is treated too, otherwise you just spread it to each other. Make sure you wear cotton underwear and do not use soaps, bubble baths, shower gels or feminine sprays down below. This changes the PH level down below and aggravates the condition.
Avatar f tn Anyone else have constant yeast infections? I don't know what to do. Doctor keeps telling me monistat 7. Any natural remedies or suggestions?
1853129 tn?1319530083 Hi there Are you in a relationship?? If you are then your boyfriend may also have the infection and is reinfecting you each time . He needs to have cream to clear it up too! If you are not sexually active then I can only assume you are overwashing yourself down there. Do not soak in the bath for long periods of time with bubble bath and don't douch inside your vagina and don't use tampons at all. Wear cotton knickers and use sanitary towels.
Avatar f tn hey im having "yeast problem" right now but i just got off the b.c. a month ago,had sex with hubby couple weeks ago..can u explain how urs was? i have this snotty like discharge coming out never had it before....
Avatar f tn I've had one for about two weeks now. The first time I went to the doctor for it she prescribed me some cream based solely off of my symptoms. When it didn't go away after seven days I had to go back to the doctor. She did a smear and exam... even without getting the results she knew it was a yeast infection. I'm on the same treatment plan as I was the first time, so I really hope it clears up. It's stressful and I had no clue this kind of thing happens because of pregnancy.
Avatar f tn OK so I'm a ftm and I am four months pregnant. A couple days ago I just caught a yeast infection, its really bad. I have monistat cream! I really want to put it to use, should I? I want to go to the doctor but I can't because I have to work mornings & by time I get off the doctor's office is closed. I can't wait all the way to my next off day! What should i do?
