1153085 tn?1341301893 Have you had her checked for allergies? My cat suddenly started to develop dry, itchy skin on her head, ears, especially between the eyes and ears. A blood test revealed that she had become allergic to cow's milk, wheat, oats and yeast, as well as borderline allergic to a bunch of other things. We changed her food and the rash went away.
209987 tn?1451935465 Yeast in the ears is extremely difficult to get rid of with home remedies and not all that easy to get rid of with prescription meds because the ear canal is a dark, moist place and ideal to promote the growth of yeast. Please don't bother messing around with vinegar and other home remedies. Take her to the vet where he can prescribe Otomax.
713383 tn?1232483914 His ears smell terrible, which leads me to believe he is getting chronic yeast infections in his ears. What causes this and is there some alternative, perhaps herbal supplement I can give him since traditional medicine seems to be failing? This has been going on for years now and they just keep coming back. I am wondering if they are ever really going away. I feel terrible for him and am desperate to help him. It is costing me a fortune and hasn't provided him with any relief.
Avatar f tn another possibility is its a yeast infection, use some canestion in their ears, like in their ears, and try to put there ears up for a couple days to let air get at em
1241045 tn?1268250883 Can you put tubes in dogs ears like children? She also gets yeast in between her toes and is always licking them. And the smell is aweful! I was told it could be allergies, but the test for dogs is expensive. We have tried changing her diet and she still gets ear infections.
Avatar f tn My dog is prone to getting yeast infections in her ears and i was wondering if i could use a ph balanced soap to clean her ears and what home remedies i can do to prevent infection?
Avatar n tn I have to preface this first and foremost with a statement that these symptoms were and are not caused by viral infections or bacterial nasal infections (all have repeatedly been tested for and have returned negative). Ok, onto the symptoms. Firstly, the nose gets really crusty. The kitten is VERY active, has a fabulous appetite, has wonderfully bright eyes, and absolutely no lethargy.
1100598 tn?1413127426 My Holistic Vet prescribes it for ear infections and/or Yeast Infections.......I have used it for years before he ever made mention of it...... Other things for you to do: Add Wet food for at least one meal a day.....Extra moisture will help keep toxins flushed from her system and is vital for healthy organ function......No dog should live on dry food alone.... Next: You need to add a good probiotic to her meals....
Avatar f tn And he still keeps getting stuff in his ears and shakes his head alot and sometimes hold his ear down. He doesnt seem to be in any pain just annoyed by it. Could this be ear mites, or could he have an ear probblem?
Avatar n tn July 2009, she had the holes in her ears patched up and adenoids removed. Still, discharge and infections. In Jan 2010, she had another surgery to drain her sinuses and had multiple biopsies throughout her nasal and ear cavity. Still, she has continued drainage since this surgery, even with 4 different antibiotics. She has had 2 CT scans, allergy tests, probe testing in stomach, and the only thing they have found are different bacteria infections and Staph.
Avatar n tn I want to know how my granchild who is 3 years old got strept in his anus. I know strept throat is a bacteria and I think so his strept in your anus, but I was just wondering how do you contact, or is it due that he didn't get cleaned enough.
209987 tn?1451935465 The ears, especially in labs, are very susceptible to infections with yeast, bacteria, and other problem bugs. In addition she may have allergies that need to be dealt with. Without medication the ear will not be able to heal-just washing it will unfortunately not kill the germs/bugs that are causing the mal-odor, the debris, and the itching and they may just get worse. The sneezing may be related if she has allergies and that is more of a reason she needs to see a vet.
Avatar n tn They do seem to sting and irritate her initially, but in the end clear up the problem. My Schnauzer was getting yeast infections repeatedly in her ears. I finally found out it was a food allergy. Changed her to a Fish & Potato diet and her ears are so much better.
Avatar n tn My golden lives in the pool during the summer and is prone to the ear infections. I clean her ears daily with the Epi otic mentioned above. I've used it on all my other Goldens in the past as well. It works great!! The vinegar/alcohol is a good one as well. I use it on the kids and the dog if I'm out of the ear cleaner. If you have swimmers in your family, human or canine, this is a must have in the medicine cabinet during the summer.
Avatar n tn The bacteria that are associated with hotspots are normal bacteria on the skin in low numbers, that overgrow and create the infection (just like the yeast in the ears are normal flora in low numbers, but overgrow due to allergic inflammation and moisture).
Avatar n tn Foul odors in pet's ears are either yeast or bacterial infection or a combination of both. Much of the time ear infections are secondary to environmental or food allergies, or swimming. It would be best to have his ears checked by a vet who can perform a cytology, and/or a culture and sensitivity on the ear discharge.
Avatar n tn s to develop yeast infections especially in moist anatomical locations such as in ears, lip folds, facial folds, vulva, perianal area and more. The yeast is most commonly malassezia rather than candida. The infection that your dog may have sounds to be one of the following: an urinary tract infection, vaginal infection, or an infection of the skin of the perivulvar area. 5629636 tn?1371253040 Dogs with floppy ears tend to have issues with ear infections than dogs with erect ears. Cleaning on a daily basis (I know it is a PITA) can help. Have you tried adding brewer's yeast and yoghurt to the diet?
1429136 tn?1287209602 Those long droopy ears need regular cleaning and possible hair pulls. My last dog got chronic ear infections as a result of vaccinations. The vets couldn't clear up the infections. They kept giving me stronger and stronger medicine to the point where I was burning the inside of her ear. I finally took her to an acupuncturist that does animals. Two visits and she never had a problem again. I did have to stop vaccinating her though.
370181 tn?1595629445 ) Fungal and/or yeast infections in the ear can make them extremely tender to touch, even around the ear itself. Hope your dog feels better.

403311 tn?1205951286 It is ear medication that treats yeast and bacteria otitis (ear infection). You can make a ear solution at home if your dog has a yeast infection in her ears. Use one tablespoon of vinegar in 1/2 cup of warm water. It should be either room temperature or slightly warmer since cold water in ears can cause inner ear problems.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had multiple yeast/BV infections? I've had 3 so far and I think I'm having another! I'm going to ob tomorrow and I'm sure I'll get some meds. It's frustrating. Anyone Else?!?! Please help.
Avatar f tn Monistat works like a charm for yeast infections! That's what my doctor told me I could take. Just over the counter. He recommended the 7-day treatment. Baby is protected by the bubble she's in, so the medication does not get to him/her. Perfectly safe! Unless as previously said, you have any other complications. I would talk to your doctor before you do anything. And like they said, anti biotics are needed for a bacterial infection. Good luck!
Avatar f tn There's a pill u can get to go along with antibiotics that prevents yeast infections.
