yeast-infection

I am guessing because of the antibiotics i got a yeast infection. I used the walgreens version of monistat and i think it got rid of it everywhere except for underneath the hood of my Clitoris. How do i get rid of it. I started eating yogurt for the past 2 days. Please help!
umm i think its yogurt that is good during a yeast infection, well i think to prevent yeast infections soemhting ot do with the bacteria inn it......yours doesn't sound like it's that bad for now,,,although i would be concerned with the itching...i had a prescription with mine,,,,these little egg like things to put inside and they dissolve inside and after taking the third one,,,its all over and done with....
albicans, but antifungal treatments take care of Candida species of yeast. If you want to treat a yeast infection you will need to essentially kill the fungi with antifungal medications as discussed above, which can be purchased by prescription or over-the-counter (OTC). Vaginal yeast infections happen because there is an overgrowth of the fungus Candida albicans, and less frequently other Candidaspecies.
Did anyone know that taking antibiotics for any kind of infection will sometimes give u a yeast infection. Did anyone know that yogurt with live active yeast cultures will help ease a yeast infection by directly putting plain yogurt on the genital area, where it will replace the natural bacteria that should be in the vagina but was killed off by antibiotics or bacteria killing antibodies found in the body. Did anyone know there are lots of reasons why a female will get yeast infections.
need to get this out of my head- it sounds like you have more of an infection than herpes...i too am having trouble getting rid of a yeast infection. the diflucan did not work for me, neither did monistat. i have found some relief using terazol cream which is supposed to treat more than one strain of yeast, however mine is not totally gone so i completely know how you feel! i've found that doing everything possible to keep that area dry is helping ease symptoms.
I've been having the same issues. It started about a little over a month ago with a bacterial & yeast infection. The yeast infection came back and the bumps are still there and red - they almost look like taste buds on your tongue - am I correct??? That's how mine look anyway. I called the dr again this morning and I go on monday for a biopsy and was told I probably need a stronger steroid to cure this.
Im 26 yr old lady who is suffering from chronic vaginal yeast infection since 6 months. I have tried all flucanazole tablets, suppositories etc but i get temporary relief and it comes back! I am in monogamous relation since past 9 years and since 5 months I have abstained from sex but it still comes back.i have tested for other stds and diabetes but negative. I am highly stressed as i read that it could be 1st sign of HIV in women.
I'm having the EXACT same problem...had bacterial infection, took flagyl and got a yeast infection. That seemed normal, except I've had teh damn yeast infection for 6 months! And when I tell you I've tried everything...I have tried EVERYTHING. Diflucan, Terzol, Boric Acid, probiotics, yogurt, garlic, tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar...you nane it! Were you ever able to figure it out or get relief??
Hi. So I took medicine for a bacterial infection and for a yeast infection a week or two later. I have had problems ever since, for the past four months. I was tested for herpes and every other STD in October and all was negative. Since then, the only contact I have had with a guy is fingering...once in December which didn't really change anything and once last month, which made me worse, as it was very rough fingering. I don't understand why this is happening to me.
After sex insert a small piece of the frozen yogurt into your vagina this will help keep yeast infections to a minimum. If you have a yeast infection the cooling effect is wonderful. Every 2 to 3 weeks replace the yogurt that is frozen. It will not lose its probiotic strength because it is frozen, when it thaws out in your vagina the cultures become active again. You can also dip a tampon into the yogurt and insert if you have a yeast infection with your period.
This may sound crazy, but the only time I seem to get a yeast infection is after receiving oral sex. If my boyfriend goes down 3 or 4 nights in a row I start developing one. I was just wondering if anyone else has expierencied this, or knows if there could possibly be something in his mouth causing this. (Obviously I would notice and not let him go there if is something I could see) Any suggestions would be great.
I'm 18 and have been getting yeast infection about twice a month for the past year and a half and its killing me right now I feel like it's worse its so irritated that it itches severely and my labia is very swollen I have been taking pills one a day to try and prevent them but it doesn't seem to be helping. I have taken monistat before seems to sometimes work. what do I do?!
I got a UTI first then they gave me antibiotics that caused a yeast infection and I had to get my yeast infection treated and the medication still didnt help the yeast infection was still there but now its gotten better but they said I have some kind of bacteria infection now. but all you can really do is ask ur doctor for medication and something that could help ease the irritation which really isnt much they can offer.
I have been taking herbs ( accidophillus) and eating yogurt - I gave up on monistat and things like that cause i read that yeast becomes immune to that- So i am happy cause the yeast does go down when i eat the yogurt and take the herbs but have you guys heard about a yeast overgrowth in the body ? I read about cutting out bread and things like that I have been tested for all the stds, including HIV and all are negative THANK GOD -..should i be concerned that the yeast is a bigger problem?
I had my first yeast infection like 3 month ago, 2 weeks ago I went to the gyno and she gave me a pill name Fluconazole (Difulcan) first it was only 1 pill. She told me that this pill is so strong that it will stay in my body for a month. That I shouldn't have sex again in a month but she never told me nothing about monistat, I know about this cream 'cause before I went to the gyno I was using it. So ladys NO SEX IN A MONTH....
About 2 months ago I had this terrible itchy feeling in and outside my vagina that I thought was a yeast infection. I couldn't get into the doctor right away so I took Monistat 3. For some reason I didn't use the 3rd night but felt fine after a few days and my symptoms were gone for a few weeks. Then it came back, just much less severe but won't go away. There is hardly any discomfort on the outside only a tiny bit of burning every once and while.
It sounds like an infection. (If not yeast, then another kind.) I assume you have been checked for bv, and for stds? If you have and are certain it is none of these (in other words, you trust your doctor), have you tried douching with apple cider vinegar? I am not a douching fan, but if this is really driving you nuts, you might try it.
Hello, For the yeast infection, take some precautionary measures like avoid wearing tight fitting clothing like jeans and pantyhose and underwear made from synthetic fibres, remove wet or damp bathing suits immediately after swimming, avoid douching, perfumed soaps, bubble baths and toiletries, change underwear daily, wash underwear in hot water (to destroy fungi) and double rinse (to remove any irritating detergent) and take adequate nutrition and sleep.
I started getting them when i was young maybe around 16, when i first started getting these infections i would go get tested and the first time it was BV infection and i was prescribed some antibiotic and it went away and it seems to come back every month or so the second time it was a yeast infection and the third time it was BV again so it is either one or the other or it is just one. I've been precribed diflucan and i've taken all of the creams and antibiotics but it still comes back.
The problem is, I CONSTANTLY am having some sort of problem with my vagina area. I either have a yeast infection, or then I have vaginosis. The doctor tells me that the vaginosis is due to "your 'fluids' and your husband's 'fluids' just do not mix" and that is the reason I keep getting the vaginosis. What can you do?
Douching is with vinegar and water can definitely cause a yeast infection. Using yeast treatment can cause a bacterial infection. So, you are at a catch 22. What I might recommend is for you to try taking Jarrow probiotics. It is a natural supplement that balances out the flora in the vagina. It should help you get this under control. You can buy it at your local natural food store or online. It can be costly, but under the circumstances...
I know douching is bad but I've only did it once to kill all the infection.
I have had about 4 this year and everytime i go back to the doctor i get the same medicine which leads to a yeast infection which i cure with monistat to only get a bacterial infection and the cycle continues. This time my doctor prescribed me a pill to take for the yeast infection i got after the antibiotics. I feel like its a vicious cycle and Im really concerned what do you think is causing this?
They called and said I had a VERY bad yeast infection. This time I started feeling similar to the last time. By day 3 I was swollen and red again with mild itching and a white/clear stretchy discharge. I have been with a new partner since Nov. 2005 and these problems have started since then. I seem to be irritated down there almost always after we have sex. Do you think maybe it's his body chemistry that isn't mixing well with my "inside"?
We have sex and I then will notice my urine is very strong in smell, usally ends up being a bac. vag. infection. My husband takes alot of vitamins and has had prostate infections. I feel he is the one who is keeping this infection going. Can his sperm be infected? This has been an on going thing... and it is driving me crazy! I have changed doctors and all they do is write a prescription and then we are back the next month again. My husband has never had his sperm checked. Should he?
) Unfortunately, as soon as the yeast infection clears up, it's followed immediately by a bacterial infection. Sometimes there's blood in the discharge. This has been going on for about a year now. I take Flagyl for the BVs. Unsweetened cranberry juice, yogurt, acidophilous pills, tea tree oil, garlic, etc. do not work for me. I have tried every natural remedy (some have made things a hundred times worse) and am at the end of my rope with this.
Hello, What you are having is candidiasis or yeast infection. Take some precautionary measures like avoid wearing tight fitting clothing like jeans and pantyhose and underwear made from synthetic fibres. Remove wet or damp bathing suits immediately after swimming, avoid douching, perfumed soaps, bubble baths and toiletries, change underwear daily, wash underwear in hot water (to destroy fungi) and double rinse (to remove any irritating detergent) and take adequate nutrition and sleep.
I KNOW it is hard (b/c I too am suffering from a yeast infection now) but try not to scratch. Each time you use any cream make sure that you wash your hands at least twice with soap and warm water. The pantyliners...well, if you are wearing them everyday your vaginal area is not being able to "breathe". Plus any discharge or perspiration is going to be "stuck", thus allowing the bacteria to grow. They like warm, moist places. Try to wear cotton underwear.
I think i had a yeast infection a few weeks ago. I left it untreated which i later found out was very bad. So the symptoms stopped occuring, only to later bring abdominal pains, bad smelling odour from my crotch, thick white discharge and bad headaches. So i took a canesten tablet, and that night i got EXTREMLY bad discharge t the point of it dripping down my leg as i was walking to the washroom. What do you think this is?
