He prescribed Nyaderm (Nystatin) for 7 days 4 times a day.

i know the recommended remedy for this is a course of antibiotics, but they will give me a yeast infection. (normalyl once i get a yeast infection i can;t get rid of it for weeks/months.) can i treat the uti naturally?
Anyway this antibiotics is strong and now I have a yeast infection. I know I can take monistat for it but. When should i start using it? I still have 7 days of antibiotics to take. I'm afraid if it start the cream now I'll still be stuck with the yeast infection since I'm still on the antibiotics.
First you must try and calm down. Yes antibiotics will cause a yeast infection as a side effect. You may want to use Monistat 1 day. It's pricy but It does work. If you continue to take a lot of antibiotics it WILL keep coming back. Unfortunately it's a side effect and nothing can be really done about it except if you stop taking the antibiotics. Have you ever tried to see if your DR can prescribe something other than antibiotics for your sinus infections?
My dr and I just realized I may be allergic to my husband with treatment comes the yeast. I have found that using ph balanced Vagasil unscented soap helps a lot. I have also taken a tampon soaked it in yogurt and inserted at bed time, cooling and gets the yeast under control. And yes watching sugar an yeast carbs like bread will contribute to the growth of yeast. I hope you feel better!
Over the counter treatments are safe for a yeast infection but a bacterial infection needs antibiotics. If you have a bacterial infection and get put on antibiotics make sure you up your yogurt intake so the meds don't give you a yeast infection.
I’ve been taking tetracycline for about a month for peripheral dermatitis - I have a few more weeks to go. I have symptoms of a yeast infection that isn’t clearing up with canestan (pessary and cream). The yeast infection is beginning to cause some skin splitting and it’s very itchy and sore. Have you tried an over the counter vaginal yeast treatment? Some yeast are resistant to these as they all have fluconazole in them. The yeast are getting used to the anti-fungals that have azole at the end of their name. But it can also be Bacterial vaginosis (BV). You should get tested to find out if it is a yeast and if it is resistant and also have the laboratory check for bacterial vaginosis. Could you have a STD? If you would need to get tested for those.
Have you explored the possibility that you may have a fungal/yeast infection instead of a bacterial infection? Moist areas tend to promote overgrowth, and the white stuff you're seeing could be yeast instead of pus. It's a lot more friendly environment for yeast than for a bacterial infection.
If that's the case, and you take antibiotics, the problem will get worse.
I have heard there are diets that help with this. Certain foods you should stay away from. I can't think of where I saw it.. When I get a yeast infection I have to take the pill for it. The I am allergic to the creams or something. Are they sure it is just a yeast infection and not something else?

Also, if your taking birth control and were on antibiotics, this can cancel out your birth control and you can get pregnant. Just thought I would let you know about that.
